For the Lehigh Valley area guys, do you guys remember Kiddie City???
Trying to remember where it was up there on Mcarther, as in what store replaced it/what's there now?
Recently the founder of Laneco (another local department store chain) passed and it was in the news, got me to thinking about all the places I use to go to as a kid that are gone.
I don't remember getting many hasbros at KC, but remember that was the only time I ever saw the Nasty Boys at a store, they had a whole peg full of them, and I didn't have the money so had to pass. Had to buy them years later through Figures Inc. I also for some reason remember them having hundreds of Rockers and Bushwacker 2-packs for ages.

I loved Kiddie City. thats where i got most of my LJNS. They were legit competition (if not better) to Toys R Us. I guess we know who won that battle lol

Just from what I remember, the last set I remember buying at TRU was the red cards. That's not to say they didn't have any of the next sets, that's just the last I remember personally buying there. I know I remember seeing the crappy blue card set with the Bushwackers, Headshrinkers and the HBK and Razor repaints at KB and I bought the purple card set at Hills. Also remember seeing the green card series at Hills as well, but didn't get any of them unfortunately.

The only store around Syracuse that stocked the yellow carded series was TRU and all I found from that set was Naliz, Owen and Kamala. Red and purple carded series I found only at TRU and Hills, along with Ames for the purple cards. Blue carded series was everywhere, and I only found the HBK/Razor repaints at a Tops grocery store in the frozen food section. Green cards I luckily found at Hills only once.

Lionel Kiddie City on MacArthur Road - totally remember them! Only place I ever found Pillman, Zenk, Windham, and Vicious of the Galoob series AND... I got the Freebird sound system there right before they closed in 1993ish. They would get odd stuff there and I didn't know the Freebirds were even UK exclusives. As for Hasrbos, I only remember finding Series 1 and 2 at Kiddie City with the Bushwackers and Rockers filling the pegs later. I finally got Akeem there after nearly a year of searching. My hot spot was Toy Works on 291 near Nazareth. Only place I saw LOD and the case/series with the Natural Disasters in the Lehigh Valley.

That was the closest Hills to me and where I found the green card series. That Hills was very kind to me. It was a Friday night tradition wrestling figure hunting then popcorn after. I found a Rockers there on clearance after Hasbro lost the license, but the Great Northern TRU was the only place I ever saw LOD, Nasty Boys, and Natural Disasters singles

Just was thinking about this, and the last series I remember getting at TRU was the wave with Flair in it. Here in Whitehall PA I never found any of the color coded sets there. Got the red at Laneco, and Purple and Blue at KayBee. Toys R Us was always the first place I'd look for figures as they use to have the most of them and they were cheaper than at the other places. I don't get why they never carried any of the later sets. Maybe because they still had light blue cards warming the shelves so they never reordered the newer ones. I thought the first 3 waves in 93' were a bit weak and perhaps this had something to do with the eventual demise of the line. Was this the case at TRU around the country? Or was it different at every store or region? My time frame might be a bit off, and I let my Observer sub run out so I can't just go looking it up but - at one point during 93-94 Toys R Us pulled all Pro Wrestling toys off the shelves. It's been a few months since I read the old Observer issue, therefore I'm not exact on the time frame. If I ever come across the article again, I'll get an exact quote.

I got the red cards at TRU in Buffalo. Beyond that I can't recall seeing any others beyond that, and I'm really not sure why. I was only barely collecting at the time, but I remember getting the blue and green cards at hills. I think I got the purples at K Mart, but that might have been Hills as well.

Toys R Us in Whitehall definitely got at least one case of the Red cards because I got my set there Did not see the Yellow Cards there but the Yellow Cards randomly started showing up at the Whitehall and South Mall KB Toys in early 1996. Never saw the Green Cards in any store around here but I suspect that was due to scalpers Russ (salt and pepper-ish hair, thin-frame glasses) and Marc (pale complexion, red hair, yellowish teeth) that would set up at card shows at the local malls. I knew Bud Carson at the time as well and he was adament against scalping so it wasn't him. I remember Russ. He would come to the Hagerstown MD Valley Mall and set up shop. I remember him mailing my parents a post card, telling them he would be in the area, and he finally had the LOD 2 pack. My parents bought a lot off him. I do remember paying $20(it was my bday money lol) for a MOC green card Yoko. His prices were high, some reasonable.. but I do remember going into KB Toys before I'd buy off him and they were wiped clean, outside of your typical scott steiners and bushwackers.

I never understood why their were tons of Scott Steiners, I remember him filling the pegs at KB for the longest time. Was he in the cases in higher quantities than the rest of the set?

I remember here in Jersey finding up to Flair, Martel, IRS and Tito at TRU. Then out of nowhere the red Cards showed up.
There was a store in Woodbridge Mall called Amazing Heros comics across from KB. That's where I found the yellow, blue, purple, and red cards. A worker told me about the US 1 flea market in New Brunswick where they were selling the green cards. My mom took me there and she picked me up all but Crush and Yokozuna for $20 each.
Man I miss those times.

I remember going to the one in Tamaqua

I moved around the UK a lot when i was wee, and can universally say that the last series on the shelf's here was the one with Giant Gonzalez and the Bushwhackers repaints. Thanks for the horrible memories  I hated that. Also going to some stores and finding nothing but series 1 and 2 commons when the good stores had yellow cards and such. Ugh! That's not the case, as I always enjoy explaining on here Woolworths through out the country stocked the green cards in huge clearance boxes at £1.99

I live in the UK and I can't remember ever seeing the Purple, Dark Blue or Green carded figures for sale. Anyone else of the same opinion?

I'm from a very small town in central Illinois and we didn't have a Toys-R-Us or Hills or any of these others stores. All we had was Wal-Mart and a store (for a short while) called Pamida. I got my first figure (Ric Flair) at Pamida, and then they closed shortly after. I got the rest of my figures, for the most part at Wal-Mart and the final series they carried was the Tito Santana series (which is same as Flairs series, right?). In 1995-1996 when I moved over by Indianapolis Indiana, I found for the first time in my life, a KB Toys store and I picked up the entire Yellow Card Series (minus Owen, wasn't there) plus LOD tag pack.
At random times throughout the years, I'd travel to Evansville Indiana and go to the stores there, where I found Headshrinkers, Marty #2 (singles), and DiBiase in wrestling tights.
It was really hard to come by Hasbro's in my area. How I managed to have the amount I did, shocks me. I honestly never bought many figures from stores. Luckily I managed to find really nice condition figures from swap meets and yard sells and antique stores, I guess.

I had a Hills and a KB Toys in my town and I NEVER saw any of the tag team packs.
I still to this day have never physically seen any of them.
You have no idea how much time I spent looking for the Nasty Boys and Rockers.

You have no idea how much time I spent looking for the Nasty Boys and Rockers. Things like this still amaze me. In the Northeast, tag packs were everywhere! Bushwhackers & The Rockers were in such abundance, half the time you wouldn't even bother looking through the pegs full of them to see if a "better" set was hiding in the back. Even Demolition and LOD were relatively common to find during their initial release, and the only set I never saw was the Nasty Boys.

It was such a pain in the ass because I really wanted the nasty boys and rockers.
