So...picked up this little classic on the 3DS Classic Virtual Console marketplace. I remember playing the hell out of it on my GameBoy Color when I alternated between that and Pokemon Red as those were my first two handheld games ever.
Thoughts on this epic classic game?

It revolutionized the platforming genre and video games in general. Great game, but personally, I'd rather be playing Mario 3 or Mario World. It's a case where the first game was good, but they really hit it out of the park with the sequels.

I loved it back in the day but it hasn't aged that well. I much prefer playing Super Mario Bros 3 and the SNES Super Mario Bros.

Probably I would say my first NES game along with Donkey Kong Classics. I got the version that Duck Hunt with it. It's a good game and I do try to play it from time to time. I can say it was a foundation for future Mario games.

Whenever I get a free chance, I'll have to see if it still works.

That'd be fabulous. I know it was working back when we were doing the Roundtable like...five years ago. But that long for those systems, never know.

But the fact your NES is still kicking so soundly though...impressive.
