IMO, Mr.Perfect is the greatest Intercontinental champion ever.
By the way, what the hell happened to MrPerfect25?

Is water wet? Yes. It's a flawless masterpiece between the two greatest workers in wrestling history. It's perfectly excellent. Watch it. Now. Immediately. Just watched it. What a great match.

I think James Storm summed it up well on Steve Austin's podcast when asked if he was a 'Hogan guy' or 'Flair guy'.
'I'm a Hennig guy.'

I love their SummerSlam 1991 match too, as evidenced by the Kevstaa and Bash podcast.

He's the greatest IC Champion of all time, and it's not even close for me. He's the guy that I think of when I see that title and he set the bar that every guy after him aspires to reach. Easily one of my all time favorites, easily one of the greatest workers ever, and we lost him too damn soon. He should have had the chance to see his son win the same title he made legendary.
I was even a WTRs fan. He was just must watch TV for me with anything he was doing for the entirety of his career. I loved him on commentary, in the ring, cutting promos, and the guy made a singlet cool. He truly was Perfect when it came to pro wrestling.

An observation I made about the Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect match from KOTR 1993 that I think is really cool...
The match starts off at a slow pace. You can see people walking up and down the stairs to get concessions, take a piss, etc. A lot of people are also talking amongst each other and not paying full attention.
However, around the 12:00 mark EVERYBODY has their full attention on the match and not a single person is walking around or going to the concession stand. Hart and Hennig hooked them. The crowd gets HOT for the match and is fully invested.

To add to what Bash has said; I truly believe we will never see someone as gifted as he was again...a real shame...

Just rewatched Bret vs Perfect from KoTR 93, really great match, enjoyed the commentary too. I have a hard time choosing between Hart and Perfect as better IC champ. Was the Summerslam 91 match Hart's breakout moment? Because while I was watching I was thinking, how did Bret and Perfect or Bret and Davey earn Vince's trust or permission to do that level of match in that era? Steamboat and Savage kicked that off as far as I know, I might get hate for mentioning Warrior, but I thought that really elevated the title, having the IC champ beat the HW champ, and hell Perfect and Rude had a great deal to do with making that reign anyway. I love Warrior, but I do know he really needed Rude, Perfect and Savage.
I know I watched KoTR 93 when it happened, but maybe I wasn't appreciating great matches yet, because I didn't remember that match very much, only remembered the barricade bump Bret took. Might be because it wasn't one of the videos I rented a bajillion times. I guess they never did get the IC title back to that level of prestige. Austin made it seem important for a little bit too.

Easily the greatest IC Champ of all time. Not sure where I would rank him in just ring work alone but he's in the top 10 in overall package (ring work, mic work, charisma etc)

I personally think Hart is the better IC champ. But that's just me though.....Perfect is certainly 2# though.

Bret had at least 3 incredible IC title matches, but Shawn, Razor and Perfect all spent longer on that level than Bret so I'd probably qualify them as better IC champs.

Loved him. A lot. Honestly, I became a fan of him when he was in the AWA tagging with Scott Hall, who I also liked. I often wonder how Henning would have faired in the NWA/WCW instead of going back to the AWA or WWF. If he would have had chances to be NWA champion.

Mr. Perfect should've been world champion at some point during 1993.
He was also slated to win the 1990 Royal Rumble but it got changed to Hulk Hogan last minute.

The champ just needed to be a transition from Warrior to Hogan. Quake would have also made sense as he'd feuded with both. But Perfect was hot at the time and would have given WAY better matches than Sarge did.

Both were already firmly established upper echelon guys and both were much more credible threats to both Warrior and Hulk. The matches would have been much better as well with either. Sarge just kind of came out of no where and was used to capitalize on some blood money essentially.
