I always swat my gum like Hennig, I always throw my towel on the rack with my back standing to it too like he used to do with Heenan. lol. It's a shame it can't just be about appreciating Curt Hennig as one of the finest pro wrestlers of all time...it has to include how he was booked and who he should've gone over or worked with... Unfortunately man every Hennig thread or thread he is mentioned in ends the same way.......I have retired hope that this will change anytime soon. I don't think it'll ever stop, simply because he was criminally underused considering his talent. And his career will always be plagued with what-ifs because of his injuries.

I don't think he was underused at all by Vince. Man had a meteoric rise in WWF during the Hogan era which is DAMN impressive. He was injured and everything stop started from then on.....just my opinion on the topic.

In fairness they wanted to use him in 2002 man.....He was lost to the bottle(pill & alcohol) again by mid February......so the proposed dream match with Angle @ WM18 was unfortunately out of the question.

Yeah Hennig's not completely blameless, but it's always going to be a thing about what a healthy/clean Curt could have accomplished.

Of course....I often think on it but try to appreciate what he DID do instead of what he MIGHT'VE done. BUT that's just me.

I can see the point about not wanting a Mr. Perfect appreciation thread to turn into a rebook thread, the guy is a legend. So what about his time in AWA? I know almost nothing about AWA besides some general stuff. I've seen Hogan and Hennig vs Bockwinkel, some Curt and Scott Hall, Kamala vs Sarge, maybe some Stan Hansen matches.
Also thinking about the 4 Horsemen angle where he made fun of Arn's 'spot' still cracks me up.

for a time period wcw thunder was my only guaranteed wcw viewing in a week due to canadian availability (i didn't get satellite until around 2002) other than worldwide. hennig was a pretty consistent feature throughout late 1997/98 as the nwo and then 1999/2000 as part of the west texas rednecks...he managed to sell so well even after the injury - it seemed every week that heenan was claiming hennig had just lost a tooth. he did it so well. i loved how much heenan put hennig over in wcw. "he's a tough, tough man" was mentioned by heenan in every wcw hennig match it seemed.

How do you guys feel about Curt Hennig sticking around in 2002 and joining nWo?
