Only flashbacks they showed were the RSC HBK and E34 Doink. That was it. Thanks, that's kinda dumb. You'd think they'd at least pull out a couple of new flashbacks to show, it's not like they aren't working on any cos we know they are. Come on man! You've been here as long ad I have, you Know Mattel hasn't showed out for Toy Fair since 2010 for their launch. This show is for mass retailers to see what else is planned for Mattels year, and what quarters , so stores can figure out what the market will be. This is a Toy Fair, like a job fair for toys... SDCC is the wrestlemania of toy shows.

I don't know why they put out dumb sets like these. They can't possibly sell well, can they?

Regardless of what they've done previous years, the point is, they SHOULD be showing off SOME new product for ALL their markets at a major show like this. Almost all the other toy companies are. And collectors still swarm to see the pics even if retailers are the primary target here.

If I were Mattel I would display New elites and DM on Saturday or Sunday...I'm afraid they're gonna show nothing... the same is for the DC line Honestly I don't know why mattel booth is so poor this year

These Build a wrestler series are going to completely bomb! I'm calling it right now. I've seen gimmick like this come and go and it never works out. Now if they included things in this series that people actually wear like alternate attires instead of stupid fantasy accessories that nobody will ever use that would be different. Only about 5% of the wrestling figure consumer is going to buy these, flop written all over it. I was trying to keep my expectations low for the toy fair and they still disappointed me. Oh well, it's just action figures

All in my original post, I was considering that they showed plenty of stuff outside my taste.

EXTREMELY weak showing. They could have at least showed some early figures of upcoming series (Sting, Stardust, etc.)...their display looked like crap.

MattelDesignTeam Will you guys give us any informations on why you did not show us new Figures from the normal Line Ups or didn't announce Elite 36/37, Basic 52 & Battle Pack 35 ?

Not everyone who collects only collects what you collect. that's pretty short sighted, as I mentioned it was a sad showing for collectors end of things, not the entire showing as a whole. All in my original post, I was considering that they showed plenty of stuff outside my taste. But collectors collect more than what YOU deem as the "collectors end of things." That's why what you said, twice now, is short sighted. There are people who collect everything. So if "plenty of stuff" was shown, as you said, then that means plenty of stuff for collectors was shown, because not everyone only collects what you deem as collector worthy. See the difference? Now if you said "There wasn't a lot shown for the Elite line collector" then you'd be right, but you didn't say that. There was LOTS shown to collect whether YOU collect it or not.

Build-a-Figures really are all the rage amongst a lot of young kids. I'm personally excited to buy a few packs for my nephew because he'll love them.
For those who think Mattel should have produced less superhero-esque parts, I believe if this Build-a-Figure line is successful then you will end up getting precisely the parts that you are hoping for in future series; whether that be alternate cloth shirts, alternate heads/expressions or a range of different coloured boots.

If by all the rage you mean cloggin up the shleves at tru and wal-mart - then yes, they are all the rage.
