Mayweather didn't run away with that at all. Pac wasn't robbed either. He only threw double digits in 3 rounds, landing 18 jabs to Mayweather's 63. Easily done for the best in the world. Some people love bringing up dirt even though it has nothing to do with this fight. Pac had the crowd behind him and still couldn't land a thing. What does having the crowd behind you do? Unless I am missing something it didn't give Manny some kind of super human strength Are you not familiar with Hulking Up?

And Mayweather is hardly the best fighter in the world.

What I'm saying is he had the support and the motivation but Mayweather is just infinitely better. Pac's now playing the 'injured' card/"I thought I won!" when in reality everyone knows Mayweather won, it wasn't even close.

And Mayweather is hardly the best fighter in the world. 48-0 is a good argument for him being at the very least the best in his weight class.

Manny was a bit more aggressive in the early rounds but honestly it felt like neither guy wanted to lose more than either of them wanted to win. It's not really a fight worth revisiting.
Go watch the Pacquiao vs Marquez rivalry instead.

So in 2 weeks boxing is back to being a dead sport, right?

So in 2 weeks boxing is back to being a dead sport, right? In September it will be relevant again since it's Mayweather's last fight.

Only way I'd pay to see a Mayweather fight is if he stepped in the cage. If Floyd Mayweather were an MMA fighter, he would fight just like Georges St-Pierre. Risk-averse style combined with superior speed and size. And just like GSP, casual fans would still hate him. Apparently now Manny Pacquiao's camp is claiming he suffered a shoulder injury during training camp two weeks ago. This is just sad at this point. I feel like GSP was a bit more entertaining because his fights looked like fights. He may be sort of boring, but he still gave Koscheck a beating at UFC 74.

Mayweather should hug women like he hugs boxers and punch boxers like he punches women.

The problem isnt Floyd and it isnt Manny...its boxing! Did Floyd do what he had to do? Sure, he got in the ring, threw a jab and then would step back. A hardcore boxing fan will try to feed you crap about it being art work and finesse etc...a casual fan who tunes in for a fight will see it as running. Either way you look at it, its the reason why boxing is a dead sport. You've got two guys splitting like $400 million dollars, Manny barely punches Floyd and Floyd takes 6 steps back every time Manny lunges at him. In turn you flip over to something like The Ultimate Fighter, a tv show given to us for free and you get two guys who stand in the ring a literally try to kill each other just to try to get a contract to get the chance to be in a big fight.
I dont know if its sank in yet for the "boxing gurus" but its officially over. Sure Manny & Floyd *might* fight one more time but there are no more "big time fights". Everyone is done. Tyson, Evander, Lennox, Foreman, Ali, Frazier etc etc etc....all those guys are gone. Oscar, Hatton, Mosley, Hopkins, Tarver, Jones Jr....They're all gone. Nobody cares about the Klitschkos and those that do know there isnt anyone around anymore that deserves to even challenge him.....98% of people couldnt even name you another boxer in Mayweathers weight class. It was fun and we'll always have the memories of Youtube to get us through...however next time I get the urge to watch a FIGHT, Ill tune into whatever the UFC has going on so then I can at least see someone's fist make contact with their face.

^ I think it's unfair to say boxing is the problem... it's more down to Mayweather's defensive/elusive style (I've never understood why his fights do such great business - for me, they are mostly incredibly dull and unexciting to watch). Plus, the real Pacquiao never seemed to actually turn up... I was expecting something at least as good as the Mayweather/Maidana fight, where he'd keep Floyd on the ropes and apply constant pressure etc., but he seemed content with chasing Floyd 'round and launching the odd flurry. ...however next time I get the urge to watch a FIGHT, Ill tune into whatever the UFC has going on so then I can at least see someone's fist make contact with their face. Yeah... the average (and even below-average) UFC fight puts this to shame. Heck, Michael Bisping Vs CB Dollaway on the last PPV was more entertaining and exciting than Mayweather/Pacquiao.

Kind of hard to win a fight when your opponent is hugging you every time you got close enough to hit.

I think the whole 'Boxing is Dead' argument is always going to crop up. Stars will continue to grow, will they be Mayweather/Ali/Tyson etc. level? Who knows, they really are legendary fighters. I personally expected it to go the distance and Mayweather to win convincingly, which happened. All the hype etc is exciting too so it is a shame we haven't got another fight on the cards that will get this hype and hysteria surrounding it.

The fight went as expected, not sure why I bother getting up at 4 in the morning to watch Mayweather fights. He'll face Khan next who has no chance of inning, although he he has looked good at 147 he cant take a punch. The only person who has a chance of beating Mayweather is Golovkin but no way will Floyd move up to 154 to fight him.
with retards to boxing being dead over here in Britain it's the best it's been in years. last year we has 90k at Wembley for Froch vs Groves 2 and there's a few potential bouts between British fighters that there is high demand for. Not to mention Anthony Joshua who looks likely to reach the top of the heavyweight division.

People have been saying boxing is "dead" for decades, but the truth is it's the ultimate survivor... new superstars and great fights always come along. It's just a shame that this fight didn't deliver, when the whole world (or sporting world) was watching.
