He's the greatest manager of all time, no questions, but the guy was absolutely brilliant on color as well. Even in WCW. Not a PPV I watch goes by where I don't catch some one liner where I just laugh so hard at him. The mans whit was absolutely off the charts and his ability to snap back with some kind of hilarious quote was just unreal. And yeah, top 10 Mattel figure want for me since day 1. Long overdue. He was the only reason I could stand WCW commentary. Even then he was golden. I can't remember which 1995/1996 PPV in Detroit I was watching on the Network, but Tony pointed out a sign that said "Heenan for Mayor" and Heenan responded with "Nah, I'd have to move to a worse neighborhood and take a cut in pay." Cracked me up.

SummerSlam 93 McMahon: That's a choke hold, get in there, ref, it's on the throat, get in there!! Heenan: It's not really, it's just that Razor Ramon has a bigger Adam's apple than most guys, so it looks like a choke. McMahon: Oh I see, so the fact that Dibiase is choking him down is uh legal then in your opinion? Heenan: I would think so, yes, if you want to have an overzealous Adam's apple, fine.
McMahon: Irwin R Schyster unquestionably one of the great technical wrestlers in the WWF and perhaps many say he's even better individually than he has been as a tag team partner of Mr Ted Dibiase. Heenan: Well, I think he shines more, uh, his ability to think for himself where he doesn't have to rely on a partner, could be an advantage of uh, Mr IRS, but I would have to say just by watching him and the way I've been watching him and the way you, in the ring right now, I'd have to say that yes, the kid's in trouble. McMahon: Could you care to repeat that please? Heenan: Well, no. McMahon: I see.
Heenan: He doesn't like to be called Schyster. McMahon: He doesn't like to be called Irwin, he doesn't like to be called Schyster, what does he liked to be called? Heenan: R
Heenan: You want to hear about Jerry Lawler, you want me to tell you what happened? He pulled off Interstate 75, there was a fiery wreck, about 18, 19 cars, he crawled out of the wreckage, made it to a school bus, he pulled 45 kids out. *starts crying* McMahon: He what? Heenan: And he's here, he made it here. And bought them hamburgers before he went to the match. What a man Jerry Lawler is, what a king, what a king!

Cracked me up. It is even funnier that Bobby Heenan left the WWF in 1993 because he didn't want to take a pay cut. One of the biggest takeaways from Heenan's commentary is how subtle he was with his one-liners.

He says repeatedly that he elft to be closer to his daughter and was sick of the road and I believe him. He went to WCW(a good stretch afterwards) because he thought the money was great for a really light schedule. when you look back? WCW started to look an awful lot like WWF 1980s in 1994. Okerlund, Hogan, Beefcake, Hart, Heenan.....and the rest of the gang.

This and wanting to be closer to his family influenced his decision to leave. Say as you or anybody may will, Heenan had a lot left in the tank when he went to WCW. I am currently watching SuperBrawl IV and he was on fire with his one-liners.

Heenan was GREAT in WCW.....absolutely brilliant Yea but he had Tony Schiavone trying to trip him up, no selling his schtick constantly, and just refusing to be a partner like Vince or Monsoon. Heenan said he thought Schiavone tried to make him look bad on purpose, he said he withheld information from him, from the headset or script/format. It was really grating to me the way Tony thought he was making Heenan look bad, he just made a fool of himself by not realizing how lucky HIS dumb ass was to be able to work with Bobby Heenan.

Hulk Who?, according to what Tony Schiavone mentioned on The Ross Report, he was given a direct order by his bosses in WCW not to get in contact with Bobby Heenan after his dismissal from WCW in November of 2000. Schiavone then iterated that years later he spoke to Heenan about why but Heenan won't likely ever forgive Schiavone.

I never knew about that part, I was just always annoyed listening to the way Schiavone treated Heenan. It didn't come across to me like he was playing along it came across like he was sandbagging him all the time, and that's what Heenan said later, that Schiavone was always trying to make himself look good at the expense of the other broadcasters and the overall team. I still loved listening to Heenan in WCW, he just didn't get much help from Tony.

Loved Heenan... I attended a formal event recently, and my outfit was inspired by the Brain. Notice the glitter in the jacket, my poor man's substitute for Bobby's sequins.
