Ever since WWE Brand Extension ended, I noticed that SmackDown tapings are usually either held at arenas in smaller cities (examples include Green Bay, Tulsa, Tucson, Reno, Sacramento, Little Rock, Knoxville, Louisville, Hartford, and Corpus Christi) or bigger cities that don't draw very well (examples include Seattle, Portland, Austin, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, and Jacksonville; notable exceptions include Boston and Philadelphia) these days whereas cities like St. Louis, Los Angeles, and Chicago rarely even host a SmackDown taping as these three cities tend to only get RAW and the pay-per-views. Your thoughts?

I feel like they should just air Smackdown Live on the WWE Network on Tuesday and not treat it like such a bastard step child of a show. The show gets bad ratings and bad attendance because everyone knows that nothing of any significance is EVER going to happen on Smackdown except in very very very very very very rare circumstances.

Smackdown is a glorified house show with promos from a live event perspective. Nothing important happens. Why bring a show like that to a big city when the fans know it?
Honestly, I'd choose a house show over Smackdown almost every time.

Smackdown is a glorified house show with promos from a live event perspective. Nothing important happens. Why bring a show like that to a big city when the fans know it? Honestly, I'd choose a house show over Smackdown almost every time. Good point. During the days of WWE Brand Extension, SmackDown was seen as an important show which had its own roster with guys like Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Edge, Christian, and many others which was on or slightly below par with RAW. Today, it seems as if though the WWE treats RAW and the PPVs as more important shows than SmackDown nowadays. BTW, the last time the Scottrade Center in St. Louis hosted a SmackDown taping was back in September of 2011 around the same time that WWE Brand Extension was ending (Allstate Arena in Chicago last hosted a SmackDown taping in March of 2011 but it was the go home episode of SmackDown for WrestleMania XXVII as RAW was also held at the Allstate Arena that week). Today, the choosing of locations for PPVs, RAW, and SmackDown have changed since 2012 as cities such as Chicago, St. Louis, LA, Boston, and NYC as well as Philadelphia, Atlanta, Detroit, Phoenix, Washington (DC), Miami, and Houston have higher priority for PPVs over cities like Seattle, Portland, Kansas City, Denver, and Jacksonsville nowadays. In other words, it's all about the money in Vince McMahon's eyes. Your thoughts?

I'm still not 100% sure what your gimmick is...
Cody Rhodes fan who always thinks he's on the brink of getting fired and worrier of what city is getting WWE shows, while liking the Seahawks and having an odd obsession with WWE Magazine and Jerk of the Month.

I think Triple H should be given Smackdown. What he's done for NXT is fantastic, and a lot of people think it's the best thing going at the moment. If he did that for SmackDown, the money/attendance/ratings would all increase, but these days there is no real reason to watch it on TV, let alone actually go and see it.

Forget the location, I just dont understand why 45 minutes of Smackdown is usually RAW replays. Talent must be sitting their legitimately pissed that they cant even get a chance on the B show (well, C show IMO).

I've been to a Raw and Smackdown. It is true that Raw is based in larger cities because Smackdown generally tends to a younger audience. I attended Raw at the Barclays, where fans were non-stop chanting "CM Punk" or "Cena Sucks", and I attended Smackdown at the Nassau Coliseum, where the kids were chanting their favorite superstars.
Smackdown tapes in smaller cities because that is where families with children live. Raw broadcasts in larger cities because that is where the older and more hardcore wrestling fans live. There probably is more behind it, but that is generally the bulk of it.

I feel like they should just air Smackdown Live on the WWE Network on Tuesday Very silly thing to say. That's the equivalent of saying "I feel like they should just make all the merchandise free if you buy a WrestleMania ticket." WWE's big source of guaranteed income is TV rights fees, and Smackdown is a huge part of that. False.

I know there's one in Detroit in a few weeks, so there's one big draw city.

I love going to shows in Hershey (I love the town & the venue), but the only TV Tapings WWE brings there anymore are Smackdown tapings.....
And the last several have been pretty terrible..... so I'm not even tempted to go to see a Smackdown taping any time soon!

Where is your question? You gave us a thought, like always. Then finished it with your thoughts, like always. There was NO question posed to us.

I think it's neat that smaller markets still get a larger show that's on TV as opposed to only getting house shows. It'd be cool if the SmackDown product improved--then you get a decent show in a big market on Raw and a decent show in a small market on SD.
