I like the class. It can't be all main eventers. Although as far as celebs go I really think Cyndi Lauper & Ray Combs(if he were alive) should be in.

Eh, of things to complain about, the HOF isn't one of them.

TRdubs summed it perfect
cant have 15 main event multi-world champions in the hall every year.
They've got a formula and it works. Big name Dead Guy Sorta main eventer Golden era Female Mid carder Tag Team
combination of those. Always good. The issue here is that Savage is no longer with us, so it's not gonna be the same. If Savage was going in himself and accepting the award not one person would be looking at this class as weak.

* Randy Savage * Rikishi * Arnold Schwarzenegger * The Bushwhackers * Ray Stevens * Kevin Nash * Madusa
Just in case anyone else is interested. It's really a bad bad class. Only Rikishi and the Bushwackers are undeserving of a spot.

Of course, the original poster is right, this HOF class is the weakest that I can remember....
It's okay to slide an "undeserving" person in with a bunch of quality inductees - but this year is a little unbalanced!
The Hall of Fame is a night to remember & celebrate the special moments created by the superstars of the past.... but what do we remember from this crew? These guys mostly made a mockery of the business.
Many feel that Schwarzenegger has no business being anywhere near the HOF, as he's never even been involved in an actual "match" just a couple throwaway one-off appearances..... at least you could argue that Drew Carey was an actual participant in a match! I honestly don't even really remember what Schwarzenegger did when he was on Smackdown that one time..... I think he gave HHH the worst looking backhand in the history of wrestling.
Rikishi has a spot in the HOF, but he was never really main event material. He's memorable for two things - dancing with Too Cool, and running Steve Austin down with a car. Oh yea, and putting his butt in people's faces. The Hall of Fame is a night of dignity & respect.... and Rikishi is remembered for "The Stinkface."
Bushwackers? Many people didn't like them when they were active, as you could say that their gimmick sort of made a mockery out of pro wrestling & were nothing more than comic relief.... name one memorable (or competitive) match that they had? When the Bushwackers marched down that aisle in any type of PPV, you pretty much knew that their opponents were going to win. Now that they've been inactive for 15-20 years..... what do we remember?
Ray Stevens? Great, but I'll bet a lot of folks don't know who he is....
And rumors abound of Kevin Nash. Some say his most "memorable moment" was the "finger poke of doom." Which made a huge mockery of the business, in the minds of many people. Personally, I thought he was a groundbreaker, as one of the "founding fathers" of the NWO... but you can't ignore that "fingerpoke" business..... and we'll always remember it.
And The Macho Man is a great addition! Such a shame that he can't be there to accept it - and, as others have pointed out, he'll quite possibly roll over in his grave when Hulk Hogan gives the induction speech. I'm hoping for a "surprise" induction of Miss Elizabeth, and Angelo Poffo (in accordance with Savage's final wishes). The Genius can go in some other year, for all I care....
So, the original poster has a great point..... when we think of the memories these guys created - with the exception of Savage, there just isn't a lot of substance here.... and quite a lot of "wrestlecrap"!

TBH I'm just as excited for Nash (hopefully as Diesel, so the Outsiders can go in together) as I am for Savage. Kevin Nash is one of my five or six favorite wrestlers ever.

Until Pillman gets in, every HOF class sucks to me.
Gotta echo a lot of people here....besides Macho not that good. Nash deserves it, and Ray Stevens likely does as well, then again I woulda liked a bigger name, but eh.

Rikishi and Nash are the only redeeming things for me. Macho won't be there so that detracts from his a bit and I couldn't really care about the rest of them. Definitely one of the weaker classes. Hopefully it'll be a good event though despite the lack of star power (cumulative, I know you can't stack it, but it's not well spread either).

I'm an idiot. I totally forgot he was going in. I'm sitting here wondering if Rikishi was his favorite... Good lord no. LOL The class overall isn't great. I would still go as Macho, Nash, and Arnold should be interesting. It's a fun event regardless who goes in. But you can't stack HOF classes. You just can't. If they put in the best people every year, in 5 years the HOF would look so awful. They pretty much have a forumla they follow. 1 headliner, 1 female, 1 golden age era wrestler, and a couple of mid carders sprinkled in. It works. /thread

Macho Man is massive and so overdue, but he's not going to be there, obviously. To top it off, Hogan is ing inducting him, which is criminal. If Macho were still alive and going in then he would be enough, but if I'm going to see the HOF live I can see where there is an issue. We haven't really gotten the announcements though. Rikishi isn't a HOFer but they are going to add more names. Arnold is awesome as far as celebrities go and Macho was the most deserving of anyone out there imo. Kevin Nash is going to go in, presumably, and then a major tag team like E&C, and I think the class will be just fine. Again though, you're kind of jumping the gun before you know the full class. Yeah, about that tag team...

Yeah, not a great year. Whenever I got to WM, the HOF is a must. I'm not going this year, but if I were, I'd definitely be reconsidering.
Also, I'd go so far as saying that if Savage were still alive, he alone would more that put it over the top.

Once again - different strokes for different folks. I am content with the names going in so far. Nash will be a great addition. Bushwhackers are classic - they were ambassadors for the company for years. Rikishi had a stellar career as well. Its not all about who was the biggest names in the industry. These guys left their marks. You guys just bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch.

While the Bushwackers were never one of my favorites, they had long and storied careers and were champions everywhere they went except WWF/E. They would be looked upon as the Golden Age additions to the class, not just added for their WWF/E exploits.

I would have thought there would be more excitement for madusa. She had great matches with Bull Bakano and thought she was a standout during the new generation in terms of the underwhelming undercard matches.
Ray Stevens makes sense with it being in the Bay Area and very accomplished in he NWA.
I'd rather have the Dudley Boys or Demolition instead of the bushwackers. Someone more known from wwe.
