If Elite 36 is all true, that would be superman punch of good figures! Also, wtf Malenko?! That's pretty sweet. Some of the characters seem really groan-worthy like Show, Henry, Kane, Miz, and Triple H, but of course I'll hold the groans until pics are shown.

Ha! I just realized Bo, Bray and IRS are all in E36. That went right over my head the first time. I wonder if we'll see the apron and mask with that Bray. So making those weird CAW things useless and negating that silver lining point people were trying to make with them.

I'm really liking these new lineups. Several figures I am interested in, but not enough to break the bank. It is good to know I won't be getting behind because there is too much that I want.

Personally, I'm disappointed in the Flashbacks that we're getting in these Elite lineups. Malenko is cool for WCW collectors, and I'm glad we're getting I.R.S., but not sure why he's coming in Elite form before we even get a DiBiase Elite. Seems to me, he'd be better suited for the Basic lineup, but I'm guessing it's an excuse to get the Classic tag strap out there again. If that turns out to be the case, I'm sure it will make many collectors happy. With that said, I was pleasantly surprised with the amount and choices of Flashbacks that we've received in the past 12 months. Hogan, Razor, Earthquake, Doink, JYD, Flair, Bret, the entire Target HOF line, the resurrection of the Defining Moments line, HBK 92, Vader, Lex, LOD, Undertaker 91, Maivia and more. I feel like Mattel really stepped it up this past year in terms of not only the amount of Flashbacks, but the character selections and attires too. The decision to release (and design of) Earthquake, Doink, Rocky Maivia and HBK 92 really showed their stuff in terms of listening to the forums, as well as putting out a real quality, accurate figure. Those all look like they are some of the best figures to date. While the stretch after E35 so far seems to be one I'll avoid, similar to the E24-E29 stretch, with 1 or 2 exceptions, I commend Mattel on their choices from the past year of Flashbacks/Legends. It wouldn't be a WFigs forum post without a little (more) complaining so I'll end with the obligatory, "Now, if we can just get that Anvil, Sid, and long-haired Rude..." Good job MattelDesignTeam |
