Does anyone know if this line is completely done? I got a few of the 6" figures and thought they were great. I was hoping for Bard the Bowman in 6" form but since the line didn't seem to do that well I was willing to settle for the 3 and 3/4 inch version they showed off at Toy Fair last year. However, we didn't see any new figures for the release of the last film and I haven't heard any news on the line. I was hoping since they had the prototype they would find a way to get it to us. Does anyone have any idea? That's essentially the only character I REALLY wanted in figure form beyond Thorin and I just can't believe we saw it and I'll never own it. Also, did anyone else pick any of these figures up? I thought it was a good line but the LOTR buzz has kind of just run its course with people I think. I know the Legos are pretty awesome, and that's something, but it's not the same for me.

Bridge Direct did an interview a while back (maybe at SDCC) basically saying that lack of retail interest killed the line. Walmart only wanted the 3.75" figures from the first movie, and KMart ended up putting the whole line on deep discount (I saw 3.75" Bilbo figs as cheap as 99 cents a few times). BD wanted to release two 6-packs of dwarves for the second movie, but I don't think they could find a retail partner for them. They released the (not to scale) Smaug figure back in the Fall, and I think that was the last hurrah for the line.

3.75 is dead. Hasbro launching the 6inch Black series put the nail in the coffin for 3 3/4 inch figures. GI Joe is probably the only company that has high sales. But, they have also been rumored to be moving to a 6 inch scale.

There was also a second wave of 6" figures for Desolation of Smaug too. Azog and Radagast were the new characters for the 6" line but I believe Thrandruil was the only new character for the 3 and 3/4 line in that box set. So the second film did get a few figures but I have to assume that Beorn and Bard were going to be singles releases for the 3 and 3/4 line but that just never came out. I assumed as much about the first movie figures not doing well. I can't believe they couldn't even get one set of singles releases out for the second film. Haha ohhh, I guess that's life. I wish they would have done Bard in the 6" line instead of the Legolas repaint. Maybe another company, Funko maybe, will be able to get something out in the future.
