Don't judge me. Nobody wants to watch Uncle Elmer. Ever. They could use his matches to torture ISIS captives. That ing Battle Royal is sexy as hell though. "The Anvil shot in, oh the big boot and da Anvil over da top rope and he's gone! Look at da Hitman, on da top turnbuckle. He's caught. What's Andre gonna do with him? Oh he threw him right down on da Anvil, it's all over!".

bad guy™ holy crap I totally didn't put it together that Brutus became the barber with WM3. Yep. Beefcake turned face by refusing to help Valentine and Heenan a match or two prior, and then came out and buzzed Adonis after helping Piper. Was his coming out party.

WrestleMania III- At first glance, this WrestleMania is gorgeous compared to the first two. It seriously has the big show feel that is a Mania trademark now.
- The opener was decent. I totally thought the Can-Am Connection was cool. Not Strike Force cool, but cool. Nothing special here but a fine, energetic opener.
- Who has the better full nelson? This was a decent power match, but I think the times of the first and second matches should be swapped.
- So King Kong Bundy main evented WrestleMania 2 and is involved with midgets this time around. I can see why he was gone soon.
- Macho Man is just excellent on the microphone.
- If this was about six or seven years earlier, JYD vs. Harley Race could have main evented. Instead they were past their prime. JYD seems better than I remembered.
- The Rougeaus were awesome and this was decent but short.
- Roddy Piper vs. Adrian Adonis is probably the best match of the night so far. It wasn't a great wrestling match, but it was pretty damn entertaining and a load of fun.
- That Jesse Ventura leather jacket though
- Scratch that statement about Piper/Adonis. The six man tag is my favorite match so far. Granted, the Hart Foundation have had better matches with the Bulldogs, but it was still good. Davis was entertaining too and added something here.
- Butch Reed and Koko B. Ware should have formed the first Nation of Domination. Seriously, this was poop. Not sure why it was on the card.
- Here we go. Quite possibly the best Intercontinental Title match in history and the best WrestleMania match until WrestleMania X. Excellent back and forth match, tons of near falls and the finish was welcomed with a massive pop. Amazing.
- I would be upset with Honky winning but I believe he was on his way to the long IC Title reign. Decent enough.
- Isn't this the match that Iron Shiek claims he was going to break Brian Blair's back and him in the ass? I won't lie, it would have made this more entertaining.
- The biggest main event ever and it delivered. From a pure wrestling standpoint it obviously isn't good, but the sheer spectacle value here is outstanding. The atmosphere is unheard of and can never be duplicated again.
- All in all, a must see for any wrestling fan. Savage/Steamboat is excellence, and Hogan/Andre is a huge deal. Everything else is either good, or too short to be offensive.
The best WrestleMania so far. I'd rank them III, 1 and 2.

Alright, here are my thoughts on Wrestlemania III that no one will read.
-This Wrestlemania definitely set the bar for all Wrestlemanias to come.
-The iconic opening introduction with Vince was great.
*Cowboy Bob Orton & Magnificent Muraco vs. The Can-Am Connection -Not exactly a strong opening match. -Can-Am Connection wins.
*Billy Jack Haynes vs. Hercules Hernandez -Very slow paced match. -Ended with a double count out. Really? Is that the only finish they could come up with? -Hercules beating up Haynes with that chain after the match was actually kind of brutal, considering the era.
*King Kong Bundy along with Midgets 1 & 2 vs. Hillbilly Jim with Midgets 1 & 2 (Yes, I forgot the midget's names. Who cares?) -What. A. Waste.
*Harley Race vs. Junkyard Dog -Pretty decent match, although it could have been better if they had more time. -Harley pins JYD clean, and then JYD hits him with a chair after the match. This didn't make any sense to me.
*Rougeau Brothers vs. The Dream Team -This match should have been the opener. -Bobby Heenan on commentary was great. -Greg Valentine gets the pin.
*Roddy Piper vs. Adrian Adonis - Loser gets his head shaved -The crowd definitely added a lot to this match. -Piper throwing Jimmy Hart at Adonis made me LOL. -Piper won with the sleeper hold & Adonis got his head shaved.
*The Hart Foundation & Danny Davis vs. The British Bulldogs & Tito Santana -Like many others, I would have preferred this to just be The Bulldogs vs. The Hart Foundation, but it ended up being a pretty solid match. -Danny Davis gets the pin
*Butch Reed vs. Koko B. Ware -This match really had no business being on the card. -Santana beating up Slick after the match was the only good part.
*Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat for the IC Title -Alright, let me confess that I had actually never seen this match before. However, it lived up to the hype without a doubt. -From a technical standpoint, this was easily the best match on the show. -Steamboat wins the IC Title with the small package.
*Honky Tonk Man vs. Jake Roberts -Quite honestly, this was a pretty boring match. -Gorilla had a great line on commentary when he said "Alice Cooper's jacket looks like something that Adrian brought out of the closet with him." -Honky Tonk wins
-Mean Gene announces the new indoor attendance record for the Silverdome. -Another iconic moment.
*Iron Shiek & Nickolai Volkoff vs. The Killer Bees -Decent match, but really? Another DQ? -Shiek & Volkoff win after Jim Duggan interferes and hits Shiek with a 2x4.
*Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant for the WWF Title -"The irresistible force meeting the immovable object." -Great main event, with such an incredible atmosphere. -Hogan wins after he slams Andre, which we all know.
I enjoyed this Mania a lot more than the first two. Looking forward to watching Wrestlemania 4 tomorrow.

I think my favorite part about Wrestlemania 3, is that while it's a solid show, the longest match (of the 12) was 14:35. I definitely think it got better over time with quality over quantity becoming the focus. Still though, Steamboat/Savage is one of the best matches ever, and still holds up today.

WM 4 Battle Royal- The only thing memorable about this was the career highlight of Bret Hart breaking Bad News Brown's trophy. Lol. DiBiase def. Duggan- Surprisingly solid for a short match. It's ridiculous how over Duggan really was back in the day. Hilarious seeing Andre things up. Muraco def. Bravo- Long story short Dino Bravo is a joke of a wrestler. Absolute crap. Awesome seeing Superstar though. Valentine def. Steamboat- Kind of surprised seeing Steamboat fall this quickly in the tournament considering the MASSIVE shot to the moon he recieved beating Savage just the year prior. That, and Valentine. Savage def. Reed- Forgetable match. Nuff said. OMG def. Bam Bam- Just...knowing what becomes of OMG next Wrestlemania...it just kind of makes me giggle that he made it through. Rude draws Roberts- When the 1980s fans start chanting boring, problem. You look at this match on the card and think holy crap, this is going to rip the place apart...one hell of a match coming. It started out solid but then a couple of minutes into the match it became the war of rest holds. Sucks, was expecting a classic. Warrior def. Hercules- Arrive, STOMP BAWLS, Leave. Hogan draws Andre- Again, these two have crap in ring chemistry, but it took Rock and Michaels to pull a respectable match out of Hogan like...15 years later so, you know, whatever. It continued on the story and set the scene for the later match. DiBiase def. Muraco- Typical DiBiase match. Just didn't have his henchmen to do his bidding so he had to cheat himself. Savage def. Valentine- Savage = Hero. Anyone who beats Valentine is great in my book. Beefcake def. Honkey- Peggy Sue reminded me of Cherry. The first Wrestlemania as the Barber, Beefcake sold it well, and Hart getting his comeuppance was AWESOME. Screw the Colonel. Kind of sucks knowing that the Barber never got a title outside of one tag title, but that was a different era. With the amount of OVER he was, he would be a 1,000 time champ at this point in this era. Islanders/Heenan def. Bulldogs/Ware- Heenan's about to get one hell of an opponent next year...savor the win while you have it. Savage def. OMG- Onto the finals Macho goes! Can't say OMG gets quite as...glorious...of a next up story... **starts dancing in a blue shirt** Demolition def. Strike Force- 1-3 Randy Savage def. Ted DiBiase- You know, if I was a fan back then I would have likely rooted for DiBiase. I love Savage, but I just find it so hard to believe that DiBiase never got himself a world title. But knowing the greatest storyline in the history of professional wrestling is on its way via Mega Powers implosion, I won't complain.

What is George Steele’s bizarre fascination with Neidhart in this thing? This Battle Royal wasn’t great, no where near as good as the WM2 one. ————————————————— Duggan vs. DiBiase, was what it was. Not good, not bad. ————————————————— Not as bad as I thought it would be between Muracco and Bravo. I don’t know why they insisted on all these bizarre strong man matches in the early Wrestlemanias. ————————————————— Lol at Jesse comparing Steamboat’s baby to King Kong Bundy. Best match so far. Two great workers. ————————————————— How the hell did Butch Reed get 2 Wrestlemania matches. Jeez. It’s so much different back here, Reed is actually booked as a threat despite being a mid carder (putting that generously), and even without it being a long match, he’s still not made to look like crap. WWE should take a look at this match as an example of putting high card guys over but keeping mid carders strong. ————————————————— Holy crap, I totally forgot that Bam Bam had a run around this time. He’s very green here. Damn short match. I preferred Akeem to OMG. ————————————————— Jake vs. Rude is good though a little long, love both their attires too. These two always had entertaining matches. ————————————————— Could be the most entertaining singles match Hercules ever had. Warrior may not have been Bret between the ropes, but he’s one hell of a showman. ————————————————— This match no where near captured the magic of their WM3 encounter. But man the crowd loves Hogan here. ————————————————— This Ted/Don match wasn’t that bad, Don hit an amazing powerslam early on. ————————————————— Not a particularly enthralling match between Savage and Valentine but that roll up end was pretty sweet. ————————————————— Not much of a fan of either HTM or Brutus, his see through attires are gross too lol. The match didn’t do anything for me. But Brutus’ had a pretty slick entrance theme. ————————————————— Man Dynamite was so ing good. I wish he’d have been healthy and stayed around in WWF as a singles guy in the early 90s, I can only imagine the quality matches he could have had with Bret, Davey, Owen, Hennig, Shawn, Marty, Razor etc. The crowd didn’t give a flying about Koko. Heenan getting the win was pretty funny. ————————————————— Quite a short match between Savage and Gang. So many matches in this event and most of them are only 3-6 minutes. ————————————————— Pretty good bout between Demolition and Strike Force. Poor Tito, continuing his losing streak at Wrestlemania, though at least two of his losses weren’t his shoulders on the mat. ————————————————— Interesting that Macho seemed to change attires every match here. There’s an interesting story being told in this match, I like it. Andre’s interferences were cool, and Hogan’s pop was awesome. It’s so cool seeing Macho with the title. Gorilla and Jesse have been on form all night. They were such a fantastic duo. It’s a shame Jesse couldn’t have had a nice run around this time against Hogan. That would have been interesting. Gorilla is so damn under rated it's not even funny.

I missed discussing Wrestlemania 3 so I will do that and 4 together Wrestlemania IIINow this is my opinion and I know many will disagree, but Wrestlemania III to me (hey did I just bust a rhyme?) was like the end of the whole "Rock & Wrestling" period of the WWF before we entered the next phase kind of like how Wrestlemania 17 was the wrap up of the Attitude Era in many peoples eyes. The event from a presentation and spectacle point of view was pretty spectacular and I can imagine that being there live must have been incredible. The event was not bad....... it has for the most part not aged all that great, but I still really enjoy Savage vs Steamboat, Piper vs Addonis and Robberts vs HTM. Wrestlemania IVMy most vivid memories of Wrestlemania IV are of how the VHS tape here in the UK was a double tape and it came in a double sized box!!!! the actual event was ok, not great just ok. My favourite match believe it or not is Demolition vs Strike Force, I agree with Rude vs Robberts being a snore fest that match should have been a balls to the wall brawl! Of course this was Randy Savages night and it was well deserved, I just think that this Wrestlemania lost a little bit of that "big event" feel that they created with Wrestlemania III.

Thoughts on Wrestlemania 4:
*Battle Royal -Not very memorable. -Bret Hart breaking Bad News Brown's trophy after the match was the only good part.
The World Title Tournament really made the title feel like a big deal, I thought.
*Jim Duggan vs. Ted Dibiase -Very basic match. -Dibiase wins with the help of Andre.
*Dino Bravo vs. Don Muraco -Hearing the announcers refer to Muraco as "The Rock" was really weird to me. -There was a ref bump somewhere in here. -Muraco wins via DQ.
*Greg Valentine vs. Ricky Steamboat -Okay match, but Valentine does absolutely nothing for me. -Valentine wins.
*Butch Reed vs. Randy Savage -Savage won, nothing special.
*One Man Gang vs. Bam Bam Bigelow -Count out? Really? -One Man Gang wins.
Hogan's promo was ridiculous, and I loved it.
*Rick Rude vs. Jake Roberts -This match really should have been a lot better than it was. -Very slow paced for the most part. -Ends in a draw, another dumb finish. -Both men eliminated from the tournament.
*Hercules vs. Ultimate Warrior -Warrior kicks all kinds of ass. -Good power match. -The finish confused the hell out of me. -Warrior won by getting his shoulder up..?
*Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant II -I don't blame them for trying, but the energy of their Wrestlemania III match could never be recreated. -Hogan hits Andre with a chair & both men are disqualified. -Hogan posed for way too long after the match.
Savage cuts a great promo backstage, like always.
*Don Muraco vs. Ted Dibiase -Pretty stiff match. -Dibiase gets the pin and advances to the finals.
*Greg Valentine vs. Randy Savage -Savage wins with the small package. That's honestly all I remember.
*Honky Tonk Man vs. Brutas Beefcake for the IC Title -Once again, nothing special. -Beefcake cutting Jimmy Hart's hair was pretty entertaining. -DQ finish, of course. -Brutas wins.
Andre choking Bob Uecker. Classic.
*The Islanders & Bobby Heenan vs. The British Bulldogs & Koko B. Ware -This match shouldn't have been a six man, but it ended up being alright for what it was. -Heenan getting the pin made me laugh.
*Randy Savage vs. One Man Gang -Definitely not the best match, but in all fairness, it was a One Man Gang match. -Savage wins via ANOTHER DQ.
*Demolition vs. Strike Force for the WWF Tag Team Titles -Enjoyable match. -Demolition wins the tag titles.
*Macho Man vs. Ted Dibiase for the World Title -Great match. -It was nice to see Hogan not wrestling in the main event for a change. -I liked Andre's involvement. -Hogan comes out and hits Dibiase with a chair. -Savage wins the title! -Really cool moment. I loved this.
All in all, this Mania definitely lacked quite a bit compared to Wrestlemania III.

WresleMania IV- Seeing the show being held in Trump Plaza is a letdown after the grand spectacle that was last year
- The battle royal reminds me of the present day, in which they wanted to get everyone on the card so they put them in there. This is list most battle royals, and is only memorable for the Bret Hart trophy spot.
- Ted Dibiase over Jim Duggan. This was basic since Duggan sucked and Dibiase didn't have much to work with.
- It's so odd to hear Don Muraco called "The Rock". I prefer this to the previous match. It had decent action but ended kind of abruptly.
- I was surprised to see Ricky Steamboat lose in the first round. Greg Valentine always bored me to tears and after Ricky's performance the year before, I thought he'd win. That being said, I enjoyed the match. Really underrated and fun.
- Short match for Macho Man, but expected with how much he'd have to do. Decent.
- I was disappointed in the One Man Gang/Bam Bam Bigelow match. It was too short and could have been better. Lame finish too.
- Again, I was disappointed by Jake Roberts and Rick Rude. They've had some really good ones, but this was a dull affair. It was obvious they were stalling for the draw.
- Glad it's not all tournament on this card. Ultimate Warrior makes his Mania debut here. Quick win, nothing special.
- Hogan's pre-match promo was pretty great. There was no way this could capture the magic of last year. It was short and Hogan posed for longer than the actual match. I think this was where the tournament got interested though because you now knew it wasn't going to be Hogan.
- Solid match between Don and Dibiase. Dibiase was damn good.
- I just realized that Valentine winning earlier robbed us of Savage/Steamboat II. That bastard. This was still solid but I wanted Savage/Steamboat dammit.
- Ugh. Beefcake/Honky was lame. I dislike both performers so this was all bad for me.
- Surprisingly good six man tag. Highly entertaining. Bobby Heenan is always great and his attire made me chuckle. The Bulldogs were even better than I remember.
- Short Savage/Gang match. Again, nothing really of note.
- Demolition winning the Tag Team Titles was a special moment. Great tag team and this was a good contest.
- Finals of the Tournament was also probably the best match of it. Macho changes attires every match was fun. Ditto for Liz. Awesome moment and great to see one of the best ever get his shining moment.
Fairly middle of the pack WrestleMania. The tournament gave it a unique feel, but having to cram so many matches into the show forced some to be short and lackluster. Overall, I enjoyed it. Second best so far, behind only III.

Wrestlemania V
This was and actually still is a firm favourite of mine. The VHS I got for Easter back in 1991 was watched so many times that it gave out! To me Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage still stands as one of the best Wrestlemania main events of all time. With the emotional story, the stab in the back, the whole build up was just amazing. they did such a great job in making Randy Savage seem crazy! And then there was the actual match its self which I still think is Hulk Hogans best Wrestlemania main event appearance. To me Hogan vs Savage eclipses Hogan vs Andre in every way!
There are a few duds on the card, but for the most part this is an event I still enjoy to this day. I remember the first time I saw the "dramatic" double camera during the Jake Robberts and Andre the Giant was just amazing!
Powers of Pain vs Demolition was a fun match for what it was and was pretty cool to see Mr Fuji do a little ass kicking.
I think that Ultimate Warrior vs Rick Rude is an under rated match. Actually the whole feud is I think these guys had very good chemistry together and the way Rude won was pretty cool and not expected at all.
In all this still would easily make my top ten (actually maybe top 5) Wrestlemanias of all time.

Finally finished WM5 One of the first things I’ve noticed here is that the production values are WAY up. Someone needs to tell Haku that Jerry Lawler stole his entrance music! Hercules works quite well as a face, he’s pretty popular too. I think he deserved an IC run at some point, for a power wrestler, he was way ahead of guys like Reed, Bravo and Patera. Quite a good little opener here. ————————————————— Shawn sounds way different. You can tell Akeem got bored/fed up with having to dance all the time. It really says something for the tag division here in this time that a team like the Rockers never got a run with the belts. In terms of his athleticism, Shawn is probably at his best during this time. It’s amazing seeing him being so nimble. Some incredible tag team wrestling by the Rockers. Very impressive. You don’t see tag teams functioning so cohesively any more. Boss Man is ridiculous with his size, he can still move but he looked way better when he lost some weight. That clothesline by Akeem was as stiff as hell. I forgot how good the Twin Towers were as a team too. What a fantastic match. I also don’t think Marty gets nearly enough credit, Shawn may have had charisma out the wazoo, but Marty was every bit as brilliant a worker as Shawn. ————————————————— Brilliant promo by Ted. I guess charisma skips a generation as Jr got none of his dad’s charisma. Too bad he went from main eventing to having a match with Brutus. Very slow match, but it’s not really surprising. Weird to think these two clashed twice at Mania, and one was technically a (co) main event! I really miss commentary as good as this. I also think we need to see more managers for heels. Having their managers attack the opponent on the outside behind the ref’s back is awesome. ————————————————— ALL AMERICAN BOYS. The most memorable thing about this match was one of the Bushwhackers molesting the Rougeau in the middle of the ring. <3 Sean Mooney. ————————————————— The debut of Mr. Perfect’s singlets, with the solid back colour. I can’t believe we got Owen Hart vs. Curt Hennig at a Wrestlemania. This is like a dream match. Two all time greats gone too soon. Too bad it’s so short. I loved the Blue Blazer gimmick. You’ll only ever see very few guys ever outwrestle Curt. This is one of those times. I can see what Bret means too about Daniel Bryan reminding him of Owen. Daniel’s body shape and mannerisms are extremely similar to Owen. Great match, but I wish they’d been able to have more time and go all out together. Owen Hart could have the greatest Wrestlemania opponents list ever. It includes Bret, Hennig, Jake, Yokozuna, HHH, Foley, Billy Gunn and Vader. ————————————————— Always been a fan of both the POP and Demolition and can’t remember too much of this match so I think it should be pretty good. The crowd completely died for a while in this match. Fuji seems to be the only one drawing a reaction until the end. Demolition’s ring gear is so homo-erotic. ————————————————— Ewww Dino Bravo. Ewww Ronnie Garvin. Ewww Jimmie Snuka. ————————————————— Not much of a fan of either of these teams, especially the Brain Busters. Tito can’t catch a break at WM lol. Arn Anderson: “Where’s your partner”? Me: “Where’s you hair, Arn”? ————————————————— Brother Love could be the worst character ever. When Jesse cut that promo on Hogan, he totally looked like CM Punk. ————————————————— Why the hell does John Studd have Jim Duggan’s entrance theme? I never understood why every Andre match he did that spot where he got tied in the ropes. Quite a weird match, Studd added a strange dynamic and Ted/Virgil’s interference seemed a bit random. It wasn’t bad or anything though. ————————————————— HART FOUNDATION YEAH. YEAH BABY AHAHAHAHA. Jim’s looking in fantastic shape here (Bret too). Jim looked a little rough at WM3. That shoulder tackle over the top rope was absolutely textbook. Jim’s hot tag!!! Those were beautiful dropkicks. He’s hopping around like a frog!! I quite like the team of Greg and HTM too. They looked more the part when Greg adopted the black hair look and wore the musical jacket. I liked the end too with Greg actually hitting Bret but just a fraction of a second late. Great match, but I wish it had more time, it felt a little rushed and Jim didn’t get enough ring time. ————————————————— I always loved Rude and Warrior matches. Rude always sold like he’d been in a car crash. Very memorable ending. ————————————————— What a stupid match. Hacksaw Jim Duggan is so bad he couldn’t even punch. I’ll never, EVER understand how he was over like this. ————————————————— Lol Red Rooster. It’s absolutely shocking that the Brooklyn Brawler could ever appear at Wrestlemania. The Red Rooster theme is actually kinda cool. But seeing terry Taylor bob his head is the most hilariously awful thing ever. This gimmick had to be a rib. ————————————————— Great match between Savage and Hogan. They recaptured the big fight feel this time that only WM3 really had so far. Savage plays such a great heel. Overall I really enjoyed this mania.

WrestleMania I :
the prototypical MSG card for the time, only better. the lighting and production values were really nothign above a house show, but they still made it seem special! I have an affinity for this event, but that is likely do to growing up during ths time frame, and the first WrestleMania really WAS something special back then! we got to see all the current hot feuds play out, with the addition of Hollywood, music, and sports stars mixed in.
TECHNICALLY, none of the matches were perfect or outstanding, but all were enhanced by the atmosphere of the event.the WWF was getting red hot around this time, and this event just launcehd them like a missil upwards even farther. after WrestleMania, there was no turning back!
one interesting thing I always like to point out - today, WrestleManai is THE thing, the institution, the biggest spectacle in wrestling. back then, however,it wasn't. in fact, fans had no idea it would really become anything! it felt like, and was presented like, a one-time sport spectacular that was needed to finally resolve the Hogan vs Piper feud. we had no reason to believe there would even BE a WrestleMania 2, much less what it has become.
