pretty sad to see him go out the way he did...getting booed at the rumble for being #30 and then his subsequent disappearance...this was a guy i'd watched since i was like, 6. he was obviously over the hill, but he deserved a better end imo.

Fans boo'ed his ass out of the WWE!
Great talent but the years finally caught up to him.

If it's true, it sucks that Rey didn't get a proper sendoff. But to be fair, he hasn't really done anything meaningful besides get injured in the last 4 years.
Oh well. Off to Lucha Underground he goes.

its a ing TRAVESTY he couldnt even have a real "last match"...it's almost Wrestlemania...the guy was healthy... ing give him SOMETHING guy is legit one of the biggest stars EVER in wrestling. he's obviously gonna go to AAA or Lucha whatever maybe even ROH and make a crap ton of money still. Yeah he had a few major injuries in recent memory but he still had skills and was damn entertaining to watch. It's been known for quite awhile that "creative had nothing for him"...which is complete bullcrap. but whatever, contract must have been officially up or coming up soon and they just couldn't come to terms. WWE probably doesn't even care TBH. There are legit zero mexican wrestling megastars left in this company and they couldn't care less. Botched Sin Cara Destroyed Del Rio, treated him like crap and ruined it Basically let Rey disappear Colon's are complete jokes Kalisto & "new" Sin Cara are killing it....in the minor leagues it's a damn shame. i'm gonna miss Rey a LOT and i'm really REALLY ing pissed off he can't even get a proper send off.

The Lucha Dragons have been on Main Event the last two weeks. So I think technically they're on the main roster. Or, at worst, they're probably about to be. Other than the way Del Rio was treated when he was fired, which was asinine imo, they went above and beyond for that guy. Nobody cared. He got push, after push, after push, and people still didn't care. Del Rio is a skilled guy. Solid talker, good worker, great heel moveset. There just wasn't any charisma there, at least none that resonated with the mass audience. In terms of booking, he was treated far better than he deserved imo. I know that's not really the point you're trying to make but Del Rio got one opportunity after another. If Del Rio was ever going to be a megastar in WWE, he would have been a megastar in WWE.

I haven't missed him but it sucks that he didn't get a proper final program. Oh well, maybe he can join Lucha Underground.

THATS why no one cared about Del Rio towards the end but I know what you're saying

Doubt he's going to pull off a Styles or Del Rio career revitalization but i hope he at least has some great matches before he hangs them up for good.

Sadly I've forgotten about Rey. Poor guy has worse knees than Big Kev. I consider him the Derrick Rose of wrestling.

I actually forgot about Rey. He was always one of my favorites so I hate to see him gone from the WWE. He should of had one last match or final run at the least.

As a kid I loved Rey Mysterio, it's sad to see him go like this...

WWE has issued a statement.
"Rey Mysterio is no longer under contract with WWE."

What's sad about this is that Rey Mysterio is one of the Last WCW guys who was still on the WCW roster if you don't count Big Show, Sting and Booker T

Well, we've really come accustom to him not being a part of the WWE the past few years. Pretty unfortunate that he doesn't get the proper send off, but it has been a long time coming.

They pushed him anyway, but he couldn't get himself over. WWE gave him literally every chance to succeed long term and he couldn't. That's not on them, that's on him. Booking does not mean somebody is going to be a megastar. Del Rio had his shot and failed miserably. That said, I liked him in the ring and wish he stayed. Mysterio, on the other hand, needs to hang it up. I'm glad he's not getting a final match. Last thing he needs is another surgery.
