when were the nWo inducted... The Horsemen won't have any problems selling out Oh good point. So let me ameliorate this. I feel like Mattel should have waited for a better chance of releasing a multi-elite pack. Doesn't necessarily have to be Hall of Fame series. After all, they struggled with Elite tag teams. A 4 pack is a significantly higher risk. That being said, I think you're overconfident on the appeal of a 4 Horseman elite pack. The price point is probably going to be around 50 dollars, if not more. And I don't think that group would resonate with figure buyers OVERALL as well as say the NWO. Or imagine this... A WM elite 4 pack with Shawn Michaels (WM 12), Undertaker (WM 14), Triple H (WM 2000), and Chris Jericho (WM 17 or 19). I guarantee you that would sell better and would probably make the necessary splash to give Mattel enough confidence that multi-elites work. I just have too many doubts on what they're going with. But hey, I could be wrong. I hope I am! As far as the single figures in HOF series 2, yeah it's an underwhelming lineup. I don't know if there's a 4th waiting to be announced... But the 3 so far? Meh. Especially after how strong series 1 was. I'm probably bias because I grew up on late '80s and early '90s wrestling, but the 4 Horsemen pack is more appealing to me than your suggested WM 4-pack. None of those are figures I wouldn't buy, but they all depict wrestlers who have received plenty of figures in the WWE Mattel line. Compare that to the Horsemen pack, which includes just the third Flair figure, the first Windham figure, and two of the most often requested previously released figures in Tully and Arn. Maybe the kid in the store isn't going to find the appeal in that, but then again, when we're talking about a set that's likely to retail north of $60, then kids probably aren't the target (no pun) audience, anyway.

Just saw the pic. They look like Galoobs. Even better. I just need a Sid. It can be a Sid Justice in Blue I don't really care. I prefer in not to have the singlet like the Galoob.

We really need a stickied and merged thread for this. Turned out to be a big time deal.

Also, people, it's time to put up or shut up when it comes to this Horsemen set. I know the Classic Tag belts are a big part of the appeal of the existing Blanchard and Anderson figures, BUT, I've seen many lament here about the figures themselves being out of their price range. So when this thing drops, please buy it!

I respect that. I mean, I really do hope it does very well. I'm actually surprised it's taken this long for Mattel to give multi-Elites another go. Although, I suppose I understand their trepidation as it's a huge risk that isn't even necessary at this point with the success of the flashbacks. Here's to hoping there's more!

Other than HBK the other 3 you mentioned aren't in the HOF. Neither is the NWO. How about a Heenan family with Heenan, Perfect, Andre and Studd. Is Studd in the HOF? If not replace him with Race.

It's great to know that we can get 'first in the line' figures in the Target HOF series. I'm surprised Snuka isn't in the 2nd series. Most people assumed he was a lock?
I would have preferred Snuka over Tito, but I'll still buy Tito.
I'm wondering if they put Snuka on the 'Off Limits' list because of the press his girlfriends death(some believe murder) received early last year when the grand jury reviewed the case. I don't think it was ever reopened, but if it had been while Mattel had his figure on the shelves, they wouldn't have been happy about that.

This would actually be a beautiful method of bulk releasing Flashbacks. I know we're getting BAF Heenan and Jimmy Hart at some point, but how awesome would it be to get some of the HoF'ers from the Heenan Family and Jimmy Hart's stable in a set like this Horsemen one?

I would take Snuka over Yoko. The e15 is all I need for Yoko, but Tito is in my top ten. Unless you weren't fortunate enough to find Yoko at retail. Or wanted a better head sculpt. Or prefer the white. Or all of the above.

Meh. Especially after how strong series 1 was. How can you say series 2 is underwhelming and not as good as series 1? We get 3 former WWE Champions in Hogan, Yoko, and Eddie plus a new character in Tito Santana. It's a great set. I think the WM IX Hogan wasn't necessary at this point. They're hemorrhaging Hogans right now. I mean I understand he's Hulk ing Hogan, but still. Between the DM, the elite, the HOF, the American Made, the two basics... That's a lot of Hogan in just less than 3 months. Again, the others are just meh. I just feel like there were much better choices. These early series in this line have to really make an impact. That is where the beginning of Legends failed. They had underwhelming roster choices overall (and when they were good they were given awful attire choices). Barefoot Snuka would have been great for series 2. I imagine he's coming because after all, they corrected Slaughter... So they have to correct that abomination of a Snuka. But hey if the line continues to sell well... Great! I want Mattel to keep doing well in all their lines because it will encourage them to keep making bold choices and take risks that they otherwise would not take.
