Hey MDT, I live in Canada and I'm sick of the Target HOF Figures. I would have picked up 3 of them but they weren't made available to the people in Canada? Why? Is there not money to be made? Why do I have to pay $50 online for a HOF Slaughter when people in the US can pay $25 not including shipping. Why can't the Target HOF Figures be made available to Canadians through Sears or Winners? Just something. Now that you announced a 2nd wave it get's me even more frustrated that I'm going to have to pay $60 on Ebay to get that Tito Santana. Is there any way these can be made available to Canadians?

Aren't Targets closing down in Canada? If so, you are outta luck.
MDT also aren't responsible for allocation of WWE products.

I call on Mattel collectors from all corners of the globe to unite and complain VERY LOUDLY about this bone headed move. By making the HOF set a Target exclusive, they have in essence made it a USA exclusive and I would like to know the reason why?? Are wrestling fans in Canada, Europe, Asia & Australia second rate, what kind of idiotic business decision is this?!
As I mentioned in the Super Toy Con thread, Mattel can solve this problem very easy- allow TRU (which has stores around the world) to sell the HOF set outside the United States. This way Target keeps their exclusive in the USA and collectors (or should I say Customers) outside the US get access to these figures at a retail outlet that is available in their country.
What ticks me off even more is that they have gone and placed a new, first in the line figure in series 2. If it was all repaints of existing figures then screw it but now collectors are being denied the ability to purchase someone (Tito Santana) who has not had any previous figures made.

It has nothing to do with Mattel. It is up to the retailer's corporate offices. Mattel doesn't ship to individual Target stores. They ship it to a retailer's distribution center and then that distribution centers ships it to the various regions distribution centers to service their areas. If corporate doesn't want certain stores to carry an item they aren't going to. Kane and Bearer will show up in the US unless something has changed since the last time I spoke to my TRU guy. He said our distribution center had open orders for the basic and Elite BoPPV sets. So I am sure they'll show up soon seeing the US is TRU's main market. They aren't going to have an exclusive and not sell it in their main market.

No, Canada and UK did Its not just about the U.S We got BAF Kane for 3 days and they sold out instantly. I never got my hands on any of them. And I'm sure the MDT will make sure Bearer is available in the future to Americans in some way, shape or form.

The point is that the Baf figures were released at a retail outlet and that retail outlet is also US based and you'd imagine at some point they would show up there. The issue for non US based people is Target is US based only and hasexclusivity same for Ringside Collectibles with their exclusives, again a US based company who in difference to Target ship outside of the US.

Target won't be happy that another company gets their exclusive. You have to think of it this way. Without Target, these figures might have not seen the light of day or eventually gets released many years later. Once the states are flooded with them, you should be able to secure a set for reasonable prices. The US only have seen 1 to 3 waves, they haven't reached all the stores nationwide yet.

Won't any Americans offer them up at cost? I have only Warrior and Austin at my store, but I was thinking it might be a win-win situation if we could get them to people without access.

Their 'exclusive' is only for the United States since that is the only country they do business in. Also, after the debacle we witnessed here in their attempted expansion into Canada, I could care less whether Target is happy or not- they don't even ship outside the USA. What about the millions of unhappy fans around the world who want to buy these HOF figures but cannot do to this ridiculous exclusivity business, do they not matter?!

Target must be making a fair amount of money in the USA if they can turn down all the extra money they would make from an international shipping policy ?.
