Here's my idea for Ghostbusters 3. The original Ghostbusters die and leave the rights to the Ghostbusters to the baby from Ghostbusters 2 who is now all grown up. He assembles a new team of Ghostbusters and the first ghosts he has to bust are the originals. Oscar, Dana Barrett's son, would presumably be in his late 20s. So I think it makes sense to have Channing Tatum potentially play that character. I don't know why the original characters would have to be dead, sans Ramis obviously. Aykroyd wrote a script at one point where Oscar becomes a junior member of the team. So we could actually see this kind of thing happen. Seems like a better premise than whatever they could even potentially think up for BrideBusters. They have to be dead in order to be ghosts.

From these recent announcements, they are going to whore out Ghostbusters like crazy the next few years with all sorts of rebrandings, movies, cartoons, games, etc.

Like, why can't they just make a movie and let it be a movie people can enjoy? Why does everything need to be an event? Do we really need an all female ghostbusters movie, an all male ghostbusters movie, and a movie where the two teams team up and fight a big ghost? I don't think she was listening to me though.

At this point I'm just "yeah whatever" about Sony/Ghostbusters. The fact that Ghostbusters is being made to be a McCarthy vehicle makes me ill.... I think that Sony already annoyed the fans with this fiasco already

At this point they might as well being back the other Ghostbusters franchise. The one with the gorilla. I know I've said this, but I do want a new cartoon. So if we get a TMNT situation out of this then so be it.
I love Chris Pratt though, and I enjoy Tatum as well. If we absolutely have to see a reboot or remake, or even sequel then those are two names I like for this. I do think on some level that the studio is dropping the Chris Pratt name because they know the fanboys, myself included, love him. He's literally one of like 3 people I'm ok with taking over Indiana Jones, which is my favorite film franchise ever. He's also going to revive Jurassic Park, and we all know how well Guardians turned out. So I hope that this is something the studio is actually going to deliver on, versus just trying to calm everyone down on an idea most of us don't want to see happen.
Also, Ryan Gosling is still probably going to be involved in one of the two. So I'm still expecting that. I'd prefer he do the female version since he appeals to that demographic. Love him in dramas and thrillers, but this isn't something I think he's right for as a member of the team.

If they cast someone as Oscar then I think this can work. I'd start the movie with Stantz & Winston still ghost busting, only for them to realize they are too old. Then they recruit and the new guys get the movie.

At which point, Tatum goes to see Ray/Winston and tries to get them to come out of retirement, so to speak. Instead Ray gives him the keys to the firehouse. That type of deal. Your idea works just as well though. I don't care about how they make the connection but I think they need to tie the worlds together. Plus, I'm definitely expecting Aykroyd to be in this whole deal.

But Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, & hopefully Bill Murray have to be involved in some form of fashion in the first films of each cast.

Well everyone said 21 Jump Street was going to be terrible and unfunny because Channing Tatum was in it and now they're like "21 jump street was one of my favorite comedies yo" there hasn't even been a trailer for the movie yet and you're all judging it, just like batman vs superman. There's literally no plot details about that movie but everyone is saying it's gonna be horrific because of Affleck who's actually a really good actor (SEE: The Town, Argo, Changing Lanes, etc.) lol it pisses me off. And then these same people who complain about those who jump to conclusions and assume things... ARE THE ONES ASSUMING THINGS!

I enjoy Channing Tatum in the comedies I have seen him in, and would have no problem with him in GB. I do hate Affleck though, and will generally avoid anything he is in. I'm fine with any new GB mess that Sony may make, as I can just avoid it if necessary, and hopefully get me some ECTO-freaking-COOLER!

Can we get some up and coming stars instead of the same regurgitated crap list of actors they want to give us?
