Well that was easy except for Group G where Carpenters 2 best movies squared off......Had to go with Halloween though. LOVE The Thing....but Halloween is SO important to the horror genre.

Yes I will accept that upgrade to my statement gladly. There are very few horror movies that will still be talked about in 100 years. The old monster movies, The Exorcist, Jaws (if you want to consider it one), Silence of the Lambs, TCM, Halloween, Scream (the first one, at least)...after that it gets a bit fuzzy besides maybe the other heavy hitting slashers (Freddy, Chucky, Jason, etc) TCM, and Halloween in particular planted the seeds for the likes of Tarantino, Rodriguez, Smith and so many others who have made so much from so little. Even *I* owe a debt of gratitude to these movies for the same reason, as does any independent filmmaker. Say what you will about them, or whether or not the over-saturated indie market is a good/bad thing all you want...it doesn't change that they altered the way movies were going to be made/distributed/seen even 30 years later...
