WWO Episode One Summary
Inaugural Show: The Tournament Begins!
The first episode of the World Wrestling Organization kicked off with the commissioner of WWO, Roddy Piper. Piper was in the ring with a microphone and said he had news for everyone about the WWO Title. He said that there would be a tournament to crown the champion starting tonight with half of the Round 1 Matches featuring the following superstars in no order.
Kurt Angle
AJ Styles
Bret Hart
Chris Benoit
Adam Copeland
Brock Lesnar
The stars will not know who is facing who until the match. Commissioner Piper also announced that there will be a 4 Man Battle Royal for the WWO Television Championship between Monty Brown, Samoa Joe, Rob Van Dam, and Chris Mordetzky.
The first match of the night began after a brief commercial break. As the commercial returned we saw AJ Styles on the way to the ring for his Round 1 WWO Championship match. Out next was his opponent and that man was Chris Benoit. Benoit made his way to the ring and then met Styles in the center of the ring as the bell rang. Both men shook hands to start the match. The match began with fast paced action seeing Styles nail Benoit with a series of moves but Benoit battled back nailing Styles with a german suplex and a series of knife edge chops. Styles fought back on Benoit and nailed a hurricanrana and went for a cover but Benoit would kick out. Benoit soon fought his way back after the hurricanrana and nailed a drop toe hold and locked Styles into a sharpshooter. Styles would eventually escape from the sharpshooter but Benoit stayed on top of him and kept him ground. Benoit attacked the knee of Styles furiously and kept Styles on the mat. Benoit put Styles in an STF but Styles was able to escape the hold. Styles battled back on one leg but Benoit took him back down with a dropkick to the knee. Benoit tried for a german suplex but Styles elbowed out of it and then desperately nailed a pele that sent Benoit down. Styles tried for a cover but Benoit kicked out. As the match progressed Styles would go for a Styles Clash but Benoit worked out of it and was able to take Styles down and get him locked into another sharpshooter but as Styles made his way to the ropes Benoit dropped the legs and jumped to the front of Styles body and then locked him into a crossface in which Styles tried to escape but ultimately gave in and had to tap out.
Winner at 9:24 :Chris Benoit
After the match Benoit celebrated as Styles was helped out of the ring by the official and then we went to a commercial.
We returned and are in the trainers room as he is looking at Styles’ knee. Benoit walked into the room and wanted to thank Styles for a great match and said when he wins the WWO Title he would have no problem giving Styles a shot.
The next match was ready to come to a start as Brock Lesnar made his way to the ring. Lesnar awaited his unknown opponent in the ring. Out from the back came his opponent and it was none other than Bret Hart! Hart entered the ring and before he get in Lesnar charged him with a knee to the side that sent Hart onto the floor. Lesnar climbed out of the ring and put the boots to Hart on the floor. Hart battled back soon and took the action into the ring nailing Lesnar with a bulldog. Hart went for a middle rope elbow but Lesnar quickly got to his feet and forcefully pulled Hart off the ropes. Lesnar tried for a Verdict early but Hart countered it with a ddt. Hart went for his finish, the sharpshooter but Lesnar powered out. Soon into the match Hart nailed a running reverse bulldog on Lesnar but he only got a one count from the move. Hart went for his famous sharpshooter again but it was again powered out of. Hart would go up top and he came off looking for cross body only to be caught and then belly to belly suplexed across the ring. Towards the end of the match Hart was laid out with a Verdict but he was able to kick out, shocking Lesnar. As the official checked on Hart Lesnar pulled something from inside his tights and put it on his fist and then hid his fist from the official. As Hart staggered back to his feet, Lesnar went for a punch with the object on his fist but Hart ducked under his fist and then he rolled up Lesnar for a three count!
Winner at 8:52 :Bret Hart
After the surprise win from Hart he rolls out of the ring but Lesnar follows him out and then decks him with the object and picks him up and then slams him face first into the steel steps before picking him back up and nailing a Verdict on the outside mats.
The cameras went to the back of the arena where Michael Cole tried to interview Brock Lesnar but he just walked past Cole. The camera’s then went to the locker room of AJ Styles where the other backstage interviewer Kevin Kelly asked Styles what he thought about his match with Benoit and what Benoit said afterwards. Styles said he enjoyed his match with Chris and tonight he came out on top but Styles said he wouldn’t make the same mistake twice and if given another match with Benoit he would come out the victor.
We then went to another break and returned in the ring with all four competitors in the TV Championship Match in the ring ready to begin. Van Dam and Joe tied up early on with Joe taking advantage of Van Dam and ground him with a samoan drop. Brown and Moredtzky also went at it with Brown trying to toss Moredtzky over the ropes but to no success. As the match advanced we saw Joe almost get eliminated by Brown but he was able to land on the apron and roll back in. Van Dam was also almost eliminated by Brown before he kicked him off and then Moredtzky locked Brown into a full nelson power slam that laid Brown out. Moredtzky went for a clothesline on Joe but was dropped over the rope only to land on the apron, Moredtzky got up with a overconfident look on his face but then Van Dam came off the top rope and kicked him in the face and sent him down to the floor, thus being eliminated. Joe went for an elimination on Brown but he stayed in and then Van Dam nailed Joe with a back kick to the head of that sent Joe down. Van Dam climbed the ropes and went for 5 Star Frog Splash and nailed it. Later into the match jose would plant Van Dam with a running knee but then Brown forcefully took Joe down with a demoralizing pounce that sent him onto the canvas. Brown went for a pounce on Van Dam but Van Dam evaded it and then he nailed Brown with a spinning back kick that sent Brown over the ropes to the floor for the elimination. It came down to Joe and Van Dam. The match advanced on more and there were many close eliminations on both Joe and Van Dam’s parts. Van Dam took a Muscle Buster and Joe took a 5 Star. In the end we saw Joe put Van Dam up on the top rope and then he grabbed him and went for another muscle buster but Van Dam broke free from the hold and then he went off the ropes and nailed Joe with a spinning heel kick that staggered him and then Van Dam went for a running clothesline but Joe back dropped him onto the apron. Joe ran at Van Dam going for a running high kick but Van Dam ducked down and pulled the ropes down as well and Joe tumbled over the ropes and crashed on the floor. Van Dam rolled back in and was awarded the WWO Television Championship.
Winner at 12:05 :Rob Van Dam, New Television Champion
We went to a commercial break and then returned to Rob Van Dam’s locker room where he was ecstatic and then Joe walked into his room. Van Dam then got serious and Joe said “It’s Not Over”. I’ll see you again somewhere down the line.
The camera’s then went to Michael Cole who was standing by with Michael Cole. Cole asked Angle if he was confident and Angle said of course because he is now facing Adam Copeland and he would take Adam Copeland to the “edge” and defeat him and then the camera’s went to the ringside area.
Kurt Angle then made his way to the ring to cheers and then after he entered the ring Adam Copeland made his way out to a mixed reaction. Copeland and Angle locked up with Angle taking Copeland over into a hammerlock. Angle dominated the match early on but Copeland soon made a small comeback after a low blow but Angle continued to dominate over Copeland. Angle was soon taken out of control after Copeland thumbed him in the eyes and then he dropped Angle with a dropkick. Copeland remained in control over Angle and would deliver a series of moves and following up with a cover but only for a two count. Copeland tried delivering a spear but Angle would evade the move and then he nailed Copeland with a release german suplex and then Angle took control back. Angle nailed another german suplex after the first. Angle would dominate over Copeland but Copeland took control after a desperation spear. Copeland would not get the win however after the finisher. Copeland went for another spear but Angle evaded and then he nailed and Angle Slam and covered Copeland but he kicked out. Angle wore down Copeland some more but edge low blowed him and then nailed a Implant DDT and covered Angle but Angle just barely kicked out before the three. In a fit of rage Copeland got himself distracted by yelling at the official in which gave Angle enough time to get to his feet and nail another Angle Slam for the win.

After the match Commissioner Piper came out and said that in three weeks we will see on Episode 4 the final match for the WWO Championship. It will be Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit vs. Bret Hart in a Triple Threat Match. The show ended as Angle celebrated in the ring and Copeland laid on the canvas.
