Just saw the video, man this is sad news. My prayers go out to the family's and I hope Rey could bounce back from all this.

So the dropkick to set up the 619 killed him? Thats whiplash for you. This is terrible. I understand accesents happen, but, I feel that Mysterio may need a check in to a doctor and shrink. He took the death of Eddie very very hard , for obvious reasons. But taking a life, accudentaly, may wage war on his psychi. Hopefully this isn't carrerr threatening to Rey. My condolences go to Perro's Family. He died doing what he loved. Death by drop kick. Jesus Christ. a quick google search about whiplash says that it could be fatal in some instances, like with a hangman's noose. if the rope is positioned in just the right spot it will snap the neck instantly instead of causing strangulation. seems like he positioned himself on the rope at the exact wrong spot and when his partner hit the rope next to him (it was going to be a double 619) he goes limp. just bad luck, but the dropkick had nothing to do with it.

Jesus....that's awful to hear.
It was clearly a terrible accident and those tweets directed at Rey are bad karma for whoever is sending them. I feel bad for Rey...even though he didn't do anything wrong he will still feel guilty as hell over this.

I seriously want to punch the sh*t out of anyone calling Rey a murderer. This wasn't his fault at all. I feel so bad for everyone involved.

Watched the video, the referee should've been on that a lot faster than he was, maybe stop the match/move the action to the other side of the ring, they were wrestling right on top of the guy at one point. seemed like all of them generally were not on top of it near enough - konnan is literally shaking him at one point trying to revive him...i think it's time to have a doctor come out and quickly when a wrestler stops responding... sad either way.

That's so horrible. RIP to the guy and I hope Rey is okay mentally. I hope Manik is ok mentally too. He was right next to him on the rope.

Just seen it. Looked more like a freak accident than anything else. Thank god Rey didn't hit the 619...

Never heard of the guy, but this is sad & my thoughts go out to his family. Rey as well, he must be feeling awful.

I feel bad for Rey Mysterio. It's like he's cursed or something, dude can't catch a break.. It's literally been one thing after another.

Even though this stuff disturbs me, I did take a look at the video on YouTube....
Rey gives him a very awkward looking headscissors - he catches Perro's head with his legs and then scissors him in the opposite direction that he was facing, so that he'd fall into the ropes - his standard setup for the 619, but the headscissors is usually a little more fluid...
Instead of falling into the ropes - Perro goes through the ropes and to the floor (slightly off camera). So you can't quite see his impact on the floor. He then slides back into the ring, gets to his feet, turns towards the ropes (to get in position for the 619) and Rey dropkicks him in the back.
Perro then slumps over on the ropes - again, looks like he's ready to receive the 619 - I would guess the referee just thought he was selling & waiting to receive the 619, but Rey never connects with it as Perro slumps down to the bottom rope.
My condolences to the family, it's a shame that things like this happen. I can't imagine what the three other guys from that match are thinking right now... could happen to anyone.

It's a real sign of the times that there's video everywhere on this. In 1999 when Owen Hart died, if anyone was recording it, then it certainly never ended up online (thank god).
It's really not good.

I know that the video is out there and being plastered on every social media/wrestling forum, but I really don't want to watch it. Not just because it features a man dying, or at least receiving the injury that would soon kill him, but because this is the side of pro wrestling that you really don't want to think about. People take massive bumps regularly, but something that seems so simple could be fatal. Makes me worry.

Man, this is a sadly moment in my life. Hijo de Perro Aguayo was a charismatic heel, he loves to play with the crowd, the crowd loves to throw beer on him, but he was very gracious with the fans. Rest in peace, great Hijo de Perro!

Yeah, it's really hard to tell when the point of whiplash actually happened.
It certainly wasn't the 619 as Rey never hit it.
Just a scary thing that could happen to anyone. Anyone who steps between the ropes is risking their lives, and I respect the hell out of that.
Wrestling is fake? Yeah right....

Holy How did this even happen? It all looked fine. His neck never even seemed to snap back or anything. Very very very scary stuff. Reys gotta be going thru a lot right now. As is the family of Aguayo. RIP.

Very sad. I used to get Lucha Libre on a Dish channel and got to see many of his matches from AAA and a little from CMLL. He was a good wrestler and fun to watch. Looks like it was just a very terrible freak accident.

From twitter.
Rey's statement translation:
Just a friendship of brothers empeso years ago and we should not question God's plan was formed. pic.twitter.com/HzlWE16wLS
Original in Spanish:
Apenas se formaba una amistad de hermanos que empeso años atras y no deberiamos cuestionar los designios de Dios. pic.twitter.com/HzlWE16wLS
