"Flair, I want you to listen, and I want you to listen good, alright. You don't like me, and I know for a fact that I don't like you. So I just wanna make one thing clear. If you try and make my life working for you difficult, I'll be reporting you to not only Mr. McMahon, but the board of directors, and I'll have your ass fired like that."
"Chris, before you go any further, I wanna make one thing clear. I'm your boss, and as fast as you can say the words "ass clown", I can have your ass fired. But, I'm a man who believes in fairness, Chris, and since you're going to be challenging my top superstar at Backlash, I want you to prove yourself. I want you to prove yourself tonight, in fact, by going out there and facing.. Kane. I know you got it in ya, champ, best of luck."Jericho's face dropped.

"Ol' Stone Cold just got done taking to Ric Flair, and in about three weeks at Backlash, I've got a match, but the only problem is, all the sons of bitches in the back, are too scared to step up and fight me. So what I'm saying is, if anybody out there has got the guts to come down to the this ring, look me in the eyes, and say "Stone Cold, I wanna fight you at Backlash", then get your ass out here and do it."Stone Cold was sent flying forward after being struck in the back of the head by a chair. The camera panned up, and the man who hit him was revealed to be none other than Eddie Guerrero, appearing on WWF programming for the first time in almost a year. Guerrero set up the chair and grabbed Austin's microphone. "Olale, ah, Stone Cold Steve Austin, esé. Over a year ago, homes, I was fired from the WWF for my personal demons. And as I sat at home, watching you start to get more and more full of yourself, that just didn't sit right with me esé. So I talked to Ric Flair, he said "Eddie, I want you to prove that your clean", and I did exactly that. The past is the past, and now I'm back. And you say that "nobody in the back is brave enough to fight you"? I'll fight you. In fact, homes, I'll fight you at Backlash."Guerrero dropped the mic on top of Austin, who was still laid out, and left the ring to boos. The Un-Americans were shown talking to Paul Heyman, before they noticed the camera and told the man operating it to "get the hell out of here". #1 Contender's Match for the WWF Women's Championship - Trish Stratus vs Jazz Jazz wins via disqualification after Mighty Molly attacked Stratus with the Women's Championship. Chris Jericho wins via roll up (9:32) As Kane sat up in the ring and Jericho celebrated on the ramp like he'd just won the World Championship, Brock Lesnar attacked Kane from behind, taking him down with a clothesline to the back of the head, three German suplexes, and an F5. Lesnar then dragged Kane's body to the top of the stage, and got him in position for a powerbomb off of it. Referees and security begged him to put Kane down, but Lesnar ignored them, and Kane was sent off of the stage and through four tables on the ground. Lesnar laughed, as Heyman did the same and raised his arm in the air. "My god, my god, my god! Kane is broken in half! He may never be the same again after that! Who is going to stop this monster of a human being known as Brock Lesnar, and just how dangerous is he with that snake Paul Heyman by his side?" yelled JR, as Raw finished. © 2002, World Wrestling Federation.

April 5th, 2002 | Blue Cross Arena, Rochester, NY
Smackdown was opened up with Mr. McMahon coming down to the ring with a microphone. "Tonight, is a very special night, as I have an announcement to make, to all of you. After much discussion, and a lot of time, I, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, have made the signing of the century for Smackdown. Ladies and gentlemen, I give to you, "The Next Big Thing", Brock Lesnar!Brock Lesnar, accompanied by Paul Heyman, came down to the ring. Heyman grabbed a microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman, and I am the advocate, and agent, for "The Next Big Thing", and the undisputed future of not only Smackdown, but the WWF as a whole, Brock Lesnar, and, Mr. McMahon, on behalf of both Brock and myself, thank you. Thank you for signing Brock to Smackdown so that his goal is perfectly clear. Mr. McMahon, Brock Lesnar has one thing and one thing only on his mind. Utter freaking chaos. And when the King Of The Ring tournament begins in May, you're looking at the winner, right here. Brock has brutalised everybody that has been put before him, and this past Monday night, his boldest statement yet was made, when he did what nobody else could do, and put Kane on the shelf. So you can add "The Big Red Machine" to Lesnar's list of casualties, along with Lita, The Hardy Boyz, Val Venis, and Rob Van Dam."Before Heyman could go any further, The Big Show interrupted him and got into the ring. "Brock, I've watched you attack people from behind, and leave a path of destruction in your wake, and I'll give it to you. In less than a month, you've made a bigger impact here than most people have in their entire career. You took out Kane, you took out The Hardy Boyz, but I've just got one question for you. Can you do it to me? Brock, you might be a 6'6, 300lb monster of a human being, but you're standing across the ring from a 7'0 tall, over 500lb giant. And the reason I'm out here, is because I'm challenging you to a match at Backlash."Big Show dropped his mic, and Lesnar got nose to chest with the giant, before Mr. McMahon interrupted them. "Woah, woah, OK, Big Show, it's official. You've got your match with Brock Lesnar at Backlash."Lesnar and Heyman rolled out of the ring as Big Show stared them down. "Lesnar may have just met his match in the Big Show!", exclaimed Michael Cole.
-Commercial Break- Test vs Scotty 2 Hotty Test wins after a Big Boot (0:32) The Rock was shown arriving at the arena. As he walked through the doors of the , he bumped into Randy Orton. A starstruck Orton was shocked when The Rock began talking to him. "Hey, congratulations on that win last week. You did good, kid. Randy Orton, right?"The Rock extended his hand as Orton reached out and shook it, still in awe. As The Rock left, Kurt Angle stormed down the hall and grabbed Orton by the collar of his shirt. "Listen here, punk. You might have cheated to beat me the other week, but it was nothing but a fluke, alright? And if you think you can get away with embarrassing Kurt Angle like that on national television, you can think agai-"Angle was stopped by Mr. Perfect. "Hey, Kurt, if you're gonna pick on somebody, why don't you pick on me?"
"Pick on you? Oh, I'm gonna pick on you alright. You might think that it was okay for you to make me look like an ass on Raw two weeks ago, but I'm not gonna stand for it, so, at Backlash, you better bring your a-game, grandpa, because I'm gonna make sure yo-"Mr. McMahon interrupted Angle and Perfect. "Gentlemen, gentlemen, relax. While you may see potential for hostility, but I see potential for a match tonight. I say, we have ourselves a little rematch. Yeah, it's gonna be you, Randy Orton, against you, Kurt Angle, in a rematch from last week's Smackdown."The camera cut back to the arena. Tajiri vs Justin Credible Tajiri wins after a buzzsaw kick (3:21)
-Commercial Break- The Un-Americans were shown walking backstage, when they ran into Edge, warming up. "Oh look, it's Edge. "The future of the WWF". What's going on, bro?"Edge looked at Christian, unimpressed. "So, uh, we hear you've got a match with Storm tonight, huh?"
"Yeah.. so?"
"Ha, so, what do you say we just put our differences behind us, call this match off, and you join us, The Un-Americans."
"What do I say? I say you get the hell out of my locker room, and ill see you out there tonight, Lance."The Un-Americans, visibly disgruntled, stormed out. #1 Contender's Match - Bradshaw and Faarooq vs The Dudley Boyz The Dudley Boyz win after a 3D to become #1 Contender's to the World Tag Team Champioships (6:05)
A recap of Brock Lesnar's assault on Kane from Raw was shown. -Commercial Break- Randy Orton vs Kurt AngleAs the Olympic hero began to get cocky, he toyed with Orton, and then threw him across the ring and into the turnbuckles, but as a result, Orton went into the referee, taking him down. As the referee was down, Mr. Perfect hit the Perfect-Plex on angle and dragged Orton on top of him, allowing Orton to steal another win over Kurt Angle. Randy Orton wins (4:37) An irate Angle looked on as Perfect raised the arm of Orton in the air.
A promo for The Rock vs The Undertaker match at Backlash was shown. Edge vs Lance Storm Edge wins after a spear (8:45)
After the match had ended, Edge was jumped by the rest of the Un-Americans. Like a pack of dogs, Christian, Storm, Test and Regal attacked him, until Chris Benoit came in with a chair to make the save and stop them from further assaulting Edge. Benoit then grabbed a microphone. "You four have ran roughshod over this company for too long, and at Backlash, we're gonna put a stop to it. It's gonna be Edge and Chris Benoit vs Christian and Lance Storm. We'll see your asses there."
-Commercial Break-
As we returned from our commercial break, The Rock started to come down to the ring, but he was jumped from behind by The Undertaker as he scaled the ramp. Undertaker hit him with clubbing shots to the back, and sent Rock into the ring. The People's Champion, groggy and on his knees, tried to fight back and swung for The Undertaker, but The Deadman just brushed him off, lifted him up, dropped him right on his head with the tombstone, and left The Rock laying motionless in the center of the ring. "That is one hell of an emphatic statement from The Phenom headed into his match with The Rock for the new WWF Championship at Backlash. We'll see you again Monday on Raw, goodnight everybody!"

April 8th, 2002 | America West Arena, Phoenix, AZ Chris Jericho came down to the ring to open up Raw. "Last week, I did what nobody else could do. I not only beat Kane, but I beat him so bad, that he hasn't been seen since because he's so embarrassed. I, Chris Jericho, made Kane disappear. It's a good feeling. But, looking forward, it's gonna be an even better feeling, when in just two weeks, I beat Triple H and take back what I should have never lost - MY World Heavyweight Championship."Jericho was interrupted by Triple H himself. "Jericho, I knew you were delusional, but, really? Are you blind, too? Me, you, and everybody else saw, that Brock Lesnar was the one who took out Kane, but that's not what matters. What matters is that, like you just said, in two weeks at Backlash, me and you are gonna face again. But this time, it's gonna be different. This time, there is no Rock. This time, it's just me and you. This time, I'm gonna expose you for the damn fraud that you are. Jericho, you always have been, and always will be, nothing more, than a coward."
"I'm a coward? Really? I'm a coward, huh, Hunter? That's funny coming from you, a man who has proven time and time again, that he has no balls, and wouldn't be anywhere near where he was today, if he didn't marry the boss' daughter. Yeah, that's right, I said it. We all know that you slept the way to the top, "Game", because the fact is, you just weren't good enough to get there on your own ability."Triple H had heard enough at this point, and ran after Jericho. Both men began exchanging blows with one another, until security hit the ring and split both men up. Jericho was dragged up the ramp, as Triple H was held in the ring.
A promo for Backlash was shown. Test vs Raven Test wins after a Big Boot (1:10)
-Commercial Break- Triple H was shown storming into Ric Flair's office. "Ric. I don't care what it takes, I want Chris Jericho in that ring, tonight. I don't care what I have to do to get it, but his ass is mine."

Tonight, you'll team up with Stone Cold Steve Austin, to take on the team of Eddie Guerrero, and Chris Jericho."Triple H, grunting, nodded and left. The Dudley Boyz vs The APA The Dudley Boyz win after a 3D (4:21) Booker T was shown backstage with Terri. "Booker, tonight, you face William Regal in a #1 Contender's Match for the Intercontinental Championship, with the winner meeting Rob Van Dam at Backlash. What are your thoughts heading in?"
"Terri, I'll tell you my thoughts headed in. Plain and simple, I'm gonna go out there, beat William Regal's ass, hit him with the Scissors Kick, do a spinaroonie, and go on to Backlash to win the Intercontinental Championship. Now can, you, dig that...

When the referee got back up, he looked around confused, and immediately jumped to the conclusion that Austin had rocked Guerrero with the chair, and as a result, disqualified Austin's team and gave Guerrero and Jericho the win. Eddie Guerrero and Chris Jericho win via disqualification (9:45) Jericho and Guerrero moved up the ramp as fast as they could, as an irate Austin looked on, and Triple H lie motionless at ringside, still feeling the effects of the match. © 2002, World Wrestling Federation.

April 12th, 2002 | Tucson Convention Centre, Tucson, AZ Scotty 2 Hotty and Albert vs Billy and Chuck Chuck and Billy win after a Fameasser (3:26) Kurt Angle was shown backstage with Jonathan Coachman"I'm here with Kurt Angle, and, Kurt, last week, for the second time, you were beaten by rookie, Randy Orton, and I've gotta ask you, how does that make you feel?"
"How does that make me feel? How does that make me feel? I'll tell you exactly how it makes me feel Coach. It makes me feel like teaching somebody a lesson, and at Backlash, I'm gonna take out all these weeks of frustration on Mr. Perfect. And when I break his ankle in the middle of that ring and make him scream like a bitch, everyone will realise that there is nobody better than Kurt Angle."
"Nobody, huh?"The Undertaker interrupted Angle. "You see Kurt, I don't know if you saw last week, but I beat The Rock within an inch of his life, whilst you were put on your ass by a rookie yet again. So if there truly is nobody better than Kurt Angle, why don't you prove it by beatin' me out there tonight?"Seemingly intimated, Angle formed a response. "Oh.. yeah? You wanna fight me out there? Well, you're on, Deadman, and we'll see just exactly who's better."Undertaker laughed and left.

My client is not only the man who ended Kane's career, but he is the man who is going to beat the Big Show so bad this Sunday that "The Giant" will never want to show his face around here again. Because, ladies and gentlemen, what you all fail to realise, is that Brock Lesnar is not like all of you. Brock Lesnar is not like The Big Show, Brock Lesnar is not like anyone in that locker room, Brock Lesnar is not like anyone in the world. Brock Lesnar is a monster. Brock Lesnar is not a human. Brock Lesnar is a freak. This man stood behind me, is fear personified, and when he shows everybody just what he's capable of, you will all realise just how dangerous my client is."Heyman was interrupted by The Big Show. "Paul, you know, you're right. Brock is a freak. Brock is a monster, but he's still no Big Show. I am a 7'0 tall, over 500lb giant. I could crush you with my right hand Paul, so if Brock Lesnar thinks that I'm gonna back down from him, then he can think again."Lesnar moved towards Show, and Show dropped the microphone. Both men stared each other, and Brock connected with shots to the gut. Big Show pushed him away, and when Lesnar came back towards him, chopped him in the head, but Lesnar was almost unphased and just brushed it off. Big Show went for another shot, Lesnar ducked it, went behind, and in an incredible feat of strength, hit Big Show with a German Suplex and rolled out of the ring as Big Show looked on, clearly shocked. "Oh my god! Brock Lesnar just hit Big Show with a German Suplex! What the hell is this man, well, kid, capable of?!"

"I just got done talking to Mr. McMahon, and he told me that since it just wouldn't be fair to keep all of The Un-Americans on one brand, we're now free agents, and can compete on whichever brand we choose. He also told me, that you've gotta go one on one with me, right now, so come on, Game, let's see what you got.
That is, if you even have the balls to step into the ring with me."This lit a fire under The Game, and the match began, with Triple H meeting Test on the outside. Test vs Triple HAs Triple H had control towards the end of the match, Chris Jericho hit the ring and distracted him by getting up on the apron. April 18th, 2002 | Compaq Centre, Houston, TX
As Smackdown began, Mr. McMahon was shown in his office. "Good evening. As some of you may know, the current Tag Team Champions, The Hardy Boyz, are both currently injured, and have not been able to defend their championships in over 30 days. As a result, I have been given no option, but to strip them of the titles. Therefore, this Sunday's match between the teams of Chris Benoit and Edge and The Un-Americans will be for the vacant World Tag Team Championships. Thank you, and enjoy the show." "Haha, yeah, absolutely."
"I'll tell you what, kid, we'll give you a chance to prove the doubters wrong. How about you get in the ring tonight with Test? Huh? You beat him, and you can add him to your list of former Champions you've beaten.
