Smackdown began with the number one contender for the WWE Championship, Edge, walking down to the ring and taking a microphone from Tony Chimel. Edge began to address the crowd. "Now that I've taken care of Kurt Angle and can finally put that behind me, there's something new I need to address, and that is one man. One man who I will face in two weeks at King Of The Ring, The Undertaker. For the few weeks, since I became number one contender, Undertaker has attacked me from behind and left me laying in the middle of this ring, but tonight, that isn't gonna happen. Because Undertaker.. I'm calling you out. Me and you. Face to face. No sneak attacks, no hiding, just me and you, one to one."The Undertaker's theme started to play, and walked through the curtain and stood on the stage. The music stopped, but The Undertaker didn't walk down the ramp. Instead, he stared down Edge for a while, before turning around and making it look like he was going to leave. Edge turned his back, and Undertaker ran down the ramp to try and get another sneak attack in, but Edge was one step ahead, ducked the clothesline attempt, and ran right through Undertaker with a spear. The Deadman rolled out of the ring, and Edge held the WWE Title over his head, as Undertaker favoured his ribs on the outside. "Is this a preview of what we're going to see at King Of The Ring?", asked Michael Cole.
-Commercial Break- Raven vs Maven - WWE Hardcore ChampionshipRaven came in like a house on fire, running down the ramp with his shopping cart and hitting Maven in the head with a stop sign, sending the champion down. Maven continued his onslaught, hitting Maven with everything from a trash can to a toaster. Maven started to fight his way back in later on, and retained the title after a Halo DDT onto a trash can. Maven defeats Raven to retain the WWE Hardcore Championship (2:00)
A promo for King Of The Ring was shown, featuring Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit, Booker T and Test talking about the war they will have to go through to earn the right to be called King Of The Ring. "My mind is spent."
"My muscles ache."
"My body is broken."
"Lead me to my throne."WWE King Of The Ring is live on Pay-Per-View, Sunday, June 26, 8e/7c. Chris Jericho, wearing the Intercontinental Championship proudly around his waist, strutted down to the ring, microphone in hand. "It's good to be the champ! Woo! You all doubted me! You all said that I couldn't do it again, but, guess what? I did it again. Chris Jericho, "Y2J", "The Ayatollah Of Rock'N'Rolla, stands before you the new WWE Intercontinental Champion! Now that that trash Rob Van Dam no longer has his grubby little paws all over this, maybe I can restore some prestige to it. So I promise, that as long as Chris Jericho is breathing, you will never have to worry about any ass clown taking this title from me!"Jericho was interrupted by the sound of Rey Mysterio's theme song. Rey came down to the ring, and took a microphone. "Chris, congratulations, man, I'm happy for you. But in the spirit of competition, and if you really wanna make this Championship as prestigious as you say you do, then you should defend it as much as possible. So I guess, what I'm saying is, I beat you two weeks ago in a tag team match, and therefore, I'm entitled to an opportunity at that title."
"Wait a second, what? Are you serious? Rey, don't make me laugh. This is the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship. Not the Flippy Vanilla Midgets Championship. Now, I understand you might have been able to challenge for this belt in WCW, but that's not how it works around here, if you want to fight the best, you've gotta earn it, junior."
"Well what do you say I earn it by kicking your ass again here tonight?"
"..yeah, okay. But we're gonna do it on my terms. If you can beat me.. AND a partner of my choosing in a handicap match, then and only then will I give you a shot. Good luck, Ronald."For the first time since returning to WWE, Eddie Guerrero's theme played and he started to walk out onto the ramp and into the ring. "Olale, Chris, vato, did I just you hear you say that he only gets a shot if he beats you and whoever your partner is?"
"..yeah? What's it to you, greaseball?"
"Heh.. homes, that's just not fair, esé. So what I propose is, we do Chris Jericho and your partner vs Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero, and if we win, he gets his shot at you at King Of The Ring."
"Why the hell would I agree to that? And who do you think you are coming out here and calling me out? Who have you beaten to deserve to be in the ring with me?"
"Homes.. You're right. I haven't beaten anybody. But I think I got a good reason for you to agree to this match tonight."Guerrero and Mysterio rolled out of the ring, as Jericho looked on confused, when suddenly, what appeared to be horse manure fell from the ceiling and covered Jericho from head to toe. The irate champion slipped up in the manure, before grabbing a microphone and declaring that the match was on.
-Commercial Break- Val Venis vs Tajiri"The Japanese Buzzsaw" started the match in control, going after Val and using his quickness to get past him. Tajiri connected with a series of kicks and managed to keep Venis down for the best part of the match. Val fought back later on however and all it took after that was a spinebuster and a money shot to end the match. Val Venis defeats Tajiri (3:09)
A recap of last week's Smackdown was shown, replaying the footage of Undertaker attacking Edge after the steel cage match. The Un-Americans vs CM Punk and Ace SteelThe two local competitors were no match for Storm and Christian, who defeated them easily after an Unprettier. The Un-Americans defeat CM Punk and Ace Steel (1:02)
-Commercial Break- The Undertaker, angrily storming around backstage, started grabbing and questioning members of staff. "Where is he?!"
"I.. uh.. w-who?!"
"You know damn well who I'm lookin' for, where the hell is Edge?"
"I don't know, m-man.. I.. I swear to god."
"Goddammit, get the hell out of here.""The Deadman" started throwing things around and tearing apart the set backstage, when suddenly, a motorcycle could be heard pulling up. The camera panned around, and it was revealed to be Edge driving what appeared to be Undertaker's bike. "Hey, 'Taker! If you want me, come and get me."Undertaker ran towards the bike, but Edge drove off in the opposing direction. Undertaker tried to chase him, but failed. 'Taker grunted and started to cause more damage backstage. Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho"Well, the king of the world is here, Tazz, a man who thinks he's a rockstar, but he didn't look much like a rockstar earlier tonight when Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio poured, well, horse manure all over him, which has more than likely only made the new Intercontinental Champion angrier.", said Michael Cole, as Jericho made his way to the ring. Once all participants had arrived, the match began with Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio starting things off, with Angle trying to take Mysterio to the mat, but the Champion was too quick, rolling out of Angle's attempts at mat wrestling and catching the former Olympian with a dropkick to the back, and almost hit the 619, but Angle was quick to roll out of the ring and regroup with Jericho on the outside, however, it would prove to be a mistake, as Mysterio and Guerrero both dived through and over the ropes to take out Angle and Jericho. As the action moved back into the ring, Angle caught Mysterio with a chop block, and tagged in Jericho, allowing "Y2J" to get some revenge for the nights earlier events. Angle and Jericho showed great tag team wrestling, splitting the ring in half and preventing Rey from getting the tag, as well as frequently tagging each other in and out to let the fresh man in, but the heart of Rey would prove to be too much as he fought back and tagged in Eddie, who came in with a dropkick to Angle and Three Amigos for Jericho. Eddie then jumped over the ropes and came back over with a Hilo on the Intercontinental Champion and went for the cover, but Jericho was able to get the kick out. Eddie then carried on his offence, ducking Angle's clothesline attempt, tripping him up and causing him to land face first on the mat before tagging in Mysterio who connected with a splash to the back of Angle. Rey got up, and almost got hit with a shot from Jericho, but he ducked it, and instead, the referee was taken down, and Rey and Jericho took their brawl to the outside, leaving Guerrero and Angle in the ring. Rey grabbed a steel chair from the outside and slid it in to Eddie, who looked at Angle, and then at the chair, before laying down and placing it on his own chest, making it look like Angle had attacked him with the chair. Angle got up at the same time as the referee, who looked at Angle and then saw the chair, and thinking that Kurt had used the chair, disqualified him and Jericho and rewarded it to Guerrero and Mysterio. The winners rolled to the outside, as an angry Angle and Jericho looked on, arguing amongst themselves. Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero def Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle

At the top of the show, RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff angrily walked down the ramp, microphone in hand, and got into the ring with an unpleasant look on his face. "Last week.. last week, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin not only embarrassed me, not only humiliated me, and made me look like a fool, but he got me arrested. Before last week, I had a perfect criminal record, I had not received so much as a parking ticket before "Stone Cold" had me arrested and thrown in jail for the night until I posted bail. Thankfully, the charges have been dropped and forgotten.. but what has not been dropped and forgotten is what that delinquent did to me. Austin, nobody embarrasses Eric Bischoff and gets away with it, so now, I'd like you to come out here and face the consequences of your actions.""Stone Cold" Steve Austin came out to a roaring ovation from the fans in attendance, and confidently strutted down the ramp, clearly pleased with what he accomplished last week. "So, Austin, I suppose you think what you did last week was funny, huh? I suppose you think you got one over on me. I suppose you think you made me look like an idiot and you're pretty proud of yourself, well, let me tell you something. I am your boss. I own you. I run this company, and goddammit, I will not have a degenerate like you try and emba-"
"What? You think I'm proud of myself? You think I made you look stupid? You think I made myself laugh when I saw you get arrested? What? Well you're damn right because I did. Eric, you are nothin' more than a prize jackass, who's only good for shinin' Vince McMahon's shoes and scratchin' his ass whenever he tells you to."
"It's fine, Austin. It's fine. Make your jokes. But you will not be laughing at the end of the night, when you're left lying on the floor in a pool of your own blood, by this man."Before Austin could form a response, a huge mountain of a man took him down from behind. As the camera panned up, it was revealed to be Test. "Austin, meet the man that you will face tonight, Test!
Oh, and, two more things. One, if you lose, you're fired, and two, there will be a special guest referee, and that man, is me. Good luck!"
-Commercial Break- As we returned from commercial break, JR and The King were shown sat at their announcer's desk, informing us of the match card and events scheduled for the evening. "Well, after that blockbuster announcement from Eric Bischoff, we now know that later on tonight, we will see Stone Cold Steve Austin go one on one with the freak known as Test, and on top of that, Bischoff himself will be the special guest referee, and if Austin loses, he will be fired."
"JR, I know that you and Austin are close, but even you have to admit that we could finally see the end of Steve Austin's career here tonight."
"We very well could, King, but Austin has never given up on us, so the way I see it, we should never give up on him, but after Austin faces Test, Rob Van Dam and Triple H will finally meet each other in the ring, as Van Dam teams up with The Hardy Boys to take on Triple H and The Un-Americans in our main event, which is something I find great irony in, considering Triple H and The Un-Americans were at each other's throats up until two weeks ago." Bradshaw vs Val VenisBradshaw, two weeks after his longtime partner, Faarooq, announced his retirement, came out sporting a new, cowboy inspired look, complete with cow bell, cowboy boots, and cowboy hat. The big bruiser used his power against Valbowski early on, but Venis would prove tough to keep down, and took control of the big Texan halfway through the match, taking out his legs and working over the left knee. "Great strategy by Val Venis here, when you get a big ol' hoss like Bradshaw, the best thing you can do is go after the legs and take out his vertical base." Venis continued to work over the knee, and later in the match after a series of leg holds, set Bradshaw up for the big spinebuster, but Bradshaw almost decapitated him with the Clothesline From Hell to win the match. Bradshaw def Val Venis via Clothesline From Hell (7:28) "My god, what a vicious clothesline from Bradshaw. I did not see that coming at all."
"And you can bet Val Venis didn't either, JR!"
"You're right there King, and from the looks of things, if Bradshaw keeps this up, he could be a force to be reckoned with here on Raw."
-Commercial Break-
For the first time since 2001, the sound of "Grab yo bitches!" played throughout the arena, signalling the arrival, and return, of none other than The Godfather. The last time he was seen, he was still decked out in full Right To Censor attire, but WWE's resident pimp was now strutting in a snakeskin suit, flanked by an army of at least 15 exotic women. Godfather got into the ring and his match began. The Godfather vs Chris KanyonGodfather beat Kanyon in quick time after a Ho Train and Pimp Drop. The Godfather def Chris Kanyon (0:41) Stone Cold Steve Austin was shown getting ready for his match with Test later in the evening, stretching out and tying his laces.
Backstage, The Godfather and his battalion of females were standing by with Jonathan Coachman. "Godfather, tonight you made your return after a lengthy absence, and, I gotta say man, you look great. What have you been getting up to in your time off?"
"Haha, Coach, a better question would be what haven't I been getting up to in my time off? Brother, I've gone legit."
"You've gone 'legit'?"
"Hell yeah! And, Coach, I'll tell ya what, how would you like an evening with one of my fine females, huh? I can do you a deal? Come on, let's talk business."
"No, no, tha-"
"Naw, naw, come on, man."
A recap of Triple H and Ric Flair turning their backs on the fans and RVD by attacking the former Intercontinental Champion a few weeks back was shown.
-Commercial Break- Chris Jericho was in the ring as we returned from commercial break. "See, you may think that I was embarrassed this past week on Smackdown, but my, would you be wrong. You see, that perro Edward Guerrero and the chihuahua Ron Mysterio might think that they got one over on me, but the fact is, they didn't. Because come King Of The Ring, myself and my good friend Kurt Angle are going to make them both look like fools and expose them for what they truly are, but that's at King Of The Ring, however, we aren't at King Of The Ring, no, we are here tonight at Monday Night Raw, and I just got done speaking to Eric Bischoff, and he gave me an interesting idea, and tonight, we are going to make history, with the first ever Chris Jericho Open Challenge! Yes, to all you young delinquents in the back, I, "Y2J", "The Ayatollah Of Rock'N'Rolla", Chris Jericho, am going to give you the chance to make yourself famous here tonight, so, junior, if you're under 6'0 and under 230lbs, get on down here and duke it out with me!"To Jericho's surprise, D'Lo Brown's theme hit. Jericho laughed, and began to speak again. "Cut the music, cut the music.. D'Lo, you are way over 6'0 tall, and you weigh 270lbs. You don't even qualify for the Chris Jericho Open Challe-"Jericho was cut off by a big clothesline from D'Lo, and the match began. Intercontinental Championship - Chris Jericho vs D'Lo BrownLooking to capitalise quickly after catching Jericho off guard, D'Lo wasted no time in climbing to the top rope and connecting with the Lo Down on Jericho. D'Lo covered him, but Jericho grabbed the bottom rope and rolled away under it, but Jericho would have no rest, as D'Lo met him outside and sent him crashing shoulder first into the steel steps. Brown grabbed him and threw Jericho back under the bottom rope, before attempting to rally up the crowd. This would prove to be a costly mistake, as when he got back into the ring, Jericho caught him with a spinning heel kick, and started to ground the 270lber. Jericho worked over the body for a good while, using holds such as a body scissors, dragon sleeper, and full nelson on a grounded D'Lo. Jericho continued to shut Brown down, as every time it looked like D'Lo was mounting some offence, Jericho was able to stop him and keep control of the match. "Jericho doing a relatively good job here of, uh, keeping D'Lo down on the mat, but he's gotta watch out, because if s gives D'Lo even the smallest window possible, Brown will take the opportunity and capitalise on it, because take nothing away from D'Lo; former multi time European and Intercontinental Champion in his own right", said JR, as D'Lo was starting to connect with headbutts to the chest of Jericho, fighting back and mounting some offence. Both men got back to their feet and Jericho swung wildly with a shot to the head, which D'Lo was easily able to duck, and catch Jericho in a blue thunder bomb for two. Brown didn't waste time complaining, got back up and waited for Jericho to get back to his feet so he could inflict more offence. D'Lo ran towards Jericho, but Y2J moved, hit D'Lo with a knee to the gut, and connected with the Lionsault, but only got a two count. Jericho seemed to get frustrated that he couldn't put D'Lo away for three, and in a possible sign of desperation, climbed up to the top rope. He took too long in doing so, however, as D'Lo got back up and started nailing Jericho with shots to the head while he was perched on the top rope, before sending the Champion and himself flying off the top with an impressive Frankensteiner. D'Lo crawled to the cover, but only managed 2.9 before Jericho got his foot on the bottom rope. "Well, despite the way he acts and carries himself, King, Jericho is certainly resilient, if nothing else", noted JR, as King replied "What do you mean by 'the way he acts', JR? Jericho carries himself like any Champion should". Back in the ring, Jericho was still down, and D'Lo was up on the top rope, calling for the Lo Down. He jumped, but Jericho rolled out of the way, and Brown ate nothing but mat. The Champion was wise enough to quickly roll D'Lo up in a schoolboy to steal the win and retain, albeit with the assistance of the middle rope. Chris Jericho def D'Lo Brown to retain the Intercontinental Championship (9:27) "A tremendous effort from D'Lo, but ultimately, Jericho retains. D'Lo seems to be getting back into his stride, however."
-Commercial Break-
Backstage, Rob Van Dam and The Hardy Boyz were talking amongst themselves, as JR and King notified us that Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Test, with special guest referee Eric Bischoff, was up next. Test made his way to the ring first, carrying a Canadian Flag, flanked by Eric Bischoff. Stone Cold Steve Austin then made his way down the ramp, alone, to raucous cheers, like always, possibly for the last time, as he was about to wrestle with his career on the line. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Test (w/ special guest referee Eric Bischoff)Before the match had even begun, Bischoff was showing favourites, forcing Austin to be searched, but not bothering with Test. The match started, and they locked up, with Austin pushing Test back into the ropes, and Bischoff immediately forcing the break. Austin released him before clearly kicking Test in the gut. Despite that, Bischoff began to admonish him, claiming Austin hit him low. Stone Cold argued back, defending his case, but as it turned out, Bischoff wanted him to do exactly that, as Test smashed Austin with a running clothesline, to Bischoff's clear pleasure. Test started to go to work on Stone Cold, striking Austin in the head while he was down on the mat for a good 20 or 25 seconds, and Bischoff was doing nothing about it, letting Test bend the rules, and again, showing bias. Test then started to use the ropes to choke Austin, and once again, Bischoff let it slide. "Oh, come on, when Austin kicks Test in the stomach; clearly, Bischoff starts to read him the riot act, but when Test illegally uses the ropes to choke Austin in clear view of Bischoff, he turns a blind eye and let's Test get away with it?" said JR, as Test stood Austin up in the corner and connected with a series of elbows to the face, before choking Stone Cold once again with his boot, as Bischoff once again paid no attention. Test went for the cover, to a fast count from Bischoff, before Austin kicked out just before three. "Is Bischoff really that desperate? Does he want Austin fired so bad that he gives Test an advantage and tries to screw Austin every chance he gets?", asked JR, as Test took the match to the outside, dropping Austin throat first across the barricade, and throwing the "Texas Rattlesnake", over the announce table and crashing into the barricade, yet despite all this, Bischoff wasn't counting, instead opting to grab a microphone and say "This match is now a no disqualifications match". Test continued to strike Austin in the head a number of times, and then proceeded to clear the announce table, ripping the cover off and pulling out the television monitors. Test climbed on top of the table and seemed to be trying for something, but Austin countered, dropping down and smashing Test's arm across the table. Stone Cold was slow to get back to his feet, but once he did, he got back in the ring and went straight for Bischoff, and had him trapped in the corner, but before he could do anything, Test struck him in the back with a chair, taking Stone Cold down, to Bischoff's amusement. Test then climbed to the top rope and went for the diving elbow, but Austin moved, got back up, and dropped Test with a stunner. He went for the pin, but Bischoff was counting very slowly. Austin broke the cover himself, picked Bischoff up by the collar, and threw him back into the turnbuckles. Stone Cold then rolled Test to the outside, and with Test on his knees, struck him in the head a number of times, then grabbed a chair and blasted him in the head with it. Test dropped down, and Austin picked him up, drove him crotch first into the ring post, and then dropped him across the apron with a back suplex, doing damage to Test's spine. Stone Cold bought Test back in the ring, but before he could do anything, Test picked him up and connected with a Death Valley Driver, which JR informed us that he'd christened "The Meltdown". Test crawled to the cover slowly, but before Bischoff could get the quick three count, Stone Cold kicked him in the arm, stopping him from counting three. Test picked Austin back up and ran off for the big boot, but Stone Cold caught him with the Stunner, sending Test across the ring, and then dropping Bischoff with another Stunner. Austin grabbed Bischoff's lifeless arm and forced him to count three for the win. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin def Test (7:39) "Austin! Austin! Austin! Austin overcomes the odds once again! Austin overcomes Test and the most crooked referee I've ever seen to retain his job!"
"Austin can't do that, JR! He can't make Bischoff count the pin himself!"
"Well he just did, King!"
-Commercial Break- Triple H, Lance Storm and Christian vs Rob Van Dam and The Hardy BoyzAs the match started off with Matt Hardy and Christian circling each other, Rob Van Dam and Triple H had not taken their eyes off of each other, and the tension between the two was very clear. In the ring however, Hardy had control of Christian early on after prevailing in the initial lock up and working Christian over on the mat. Christian broke free from Hardy and tagged in Storm, who ducked Hardy's clothesline attempt and took him out by the legs, trapping them and attempting a Regal Stretch, but Hardy got to the ropes before he could truly lock it in. Storm dragged him back into the center of the ring, and for a very lengthy amount of time, he, Christian and Triple H frequently tagged each other in and out, and took turns wearing Hardy down, as Storm used submission holds, and Christian and The Game used stomps and punches to weaken Matt. Hardy started to rally up the crowd, and got to his feet, connecting with elbows to Storm's gut, breaking free and tagging in his brother. Jeff came in like a house on fire, knocking Storm down with a clothesline, hitting Triple H with a running dropkick and connecting with a Whisper In The Wind to Christian. Hardy went for the cover, but Ric Flair put Christian's feet on the ropes, breaking the cover. Hardy went for Flair, but the distraction from the "Nature Boy" paid off, as Triple H struck Hardy in the back and dropped him with a Spinebuster for a two count. As Triple H complained to the ref, Rob Van Dam tagged in and hit The Game with a springboard dropkick followed by a Monkey Flip and Rolling Thunder. Lance Storm got hit with a Roundhouse, Christian got hit with a spin kick, and Van Dam saw the opportunity to put Triple H away. He climbed to the top and set up for the Five Star Frog Splash, but before he could hit it, Ric Flair pushed him off the top. As Flair argued with Van Dam, Jeff Hardy went sailing over the top, taking out Flair and Christian. Storm came into the ring and went for Van Dam, but Matt Hardy stopped him with the Twist Of Fate, allowing Van Dam to climb to the top rope and hit the Five Star Frog Splash on Triple H for a huge pinfall victory over the World Heavyweight Champion. Rob Van Dam and The Hardy Boyz def Triple H and The Un-Americans (11:28)© 2002, World Wrestling Entertainment.

"Hello, everybody, and welcome to WWE Smackdown!", says Michael Cole, as he and Tazz welcome us to a night of heated action. "Tonight, a little over a week away from their clash at King Of The Ring, Edge and The Undertaker will face off for the third time this month, as they will sign the contract for their WWE Championship match, later on this evening, as well as a preview for the King Of The Ring tournament, as our finalists, Booker T, Chris Benoit, Test and Brock Lesnar, will team up against each other tonight, as Booker and Benoit go up against Lesnar and Test."
"Brock Lesnar and Test on the same team is a scary thought, Cole, but as well as that, Billy Kidman defends the Cruiserweight Championship against Jamie Noble, and that match is next!" WWE Cruiserweight Championship - Jamie Noble vs Billy KidmanKidman gets the upper hand in the early goings after the exchange, and brings Noble down to the mat, trapping him in a body scissors and connecting with elbows to the head. Noble gets back up to his feet, and this time takes control of Kidman, not giving him a chance to breathe and shutting him down every time he tries to fight back, but Kidman can't be kept down forever, and starts to fight back against Noble, striking him in the head and hitting a dropkick. After a series of moves, including a brainbuster, DDT, and leg sweep, Kidman sets up for the Shooting Star Press, climbing to the top rope and calling for it, but before he gets the chance to hit it, a woman climbs over the barricade, hits Kidman with a low blow and pushes him off of the top rope. Noble takes advantage, hitting the Gibson Driver and getting the 3 count to steal the win and the Cruiserweight Championship. Jamie Noble def. Billy Kidman in 6:25 to WIN the WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Noble and the woman leave up the ramp together, as Noble celebrates his win.
-Commercial Break- A promo for King Of The Ring is shown, featuring Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit, Booker T and Test talking about the war they will have to go through to earn the right to be called King Of The Ring. "My mind is spent."
"My muscles ache."
"My body is broken."
"Lead me to my throne."WWE King Of The Ring is live on Pay-Per-View, Sunday, June 26, 8e/7c.
Backstage, Jamie Noble and who we now know is his girlfriend, Nidia, were shown celebrating in the parking lot, as Noble held the Cruiserweight Championship in one hand and what appeared to be a bottle of moonshine in the other. Noble put his arm around his girlfriend, and says that the celebration will continue back at their trailer in West Virginia. Nidia gives him a suggestive look, and they quickly jump into Noble's pickup truck, as Jamie speeds away. Lance Storm vs Matt HardyAs the rivalry between The Hardy Boyz and The Un-Americans heats up, so does this match up between Lance Storm and Matt Hardy. Both men know that the risk of an injury this close to their match at King Of The Ring is very high, so they both do their best to counter each other's offence throughout. Hardy bounces off the ropes and goes for a cross body, Storm avoids it, and Hardy gets nothing but canvas. Storm wastes no time, and immediately jumps onto Hardy, locking in a single-leg crab, and isolating Hardy in the middle of the ring. Storm continues to wrench on the leg, trying to injure Hardy. Later in the match, Storm goes for a superkick, but Hardy ducks it, grabs Storm by the legs, and rolls him up for the pinfall and a big victory headed into the World Tag Team Title match at King Of The Ring. Matt Hardy def. Lance Storm in 4:37
Post match, Storm is arguing with the referee, telling him that his arms were under the bottom rope when Hardy got the pinfall. Brian Hebner argues back, claiming that they were not, as we cut away to a commercial break.
-Commercial Break-
As we return from commercial break, Lance Storm and Christian are still arguing with Brian Hebner backstage. Storm yells at Hebner, saying that he's doing his job incorrectly and that he screwed him over in the match. Christian says that it's typical of an American, taking any opportunity he can to screw over a Canadian. Hebner continues to argue back, saying that it doesn't matter what Storm thinks, and that Hardy got the win fair and square. Storm retorts, saying that "I could stand here and argue with you all day, but I guess it's pointless, since screwing over great Canadian men must run in your family".
Backstage, Eddie Guerrero is with Lillian Garcia, and she asks him for his thoughts headed into King Of The Ring, and his match with Kurt Angle. Eddie responds, saying "Olale, Lillian, mamacita, esé, you lookin' good tonight, ah? Hey, all I'm thinkin' about is embarassing that perros once more, esé, at King Of The Ring, Kurt can do whatever he wants, but when it comes down to it, eh, one on on-"The camera moves to the side, showing Kurt Angle standing there. "You know, Eddie, for a man who brags so much about "lying, cheating, and stealing", you really should see this coming". Guerrero looks at Angle with a puzzled look on his face, before suddenly, Chris Jericho rushes up behind him, shoving Guerrero and knocking him over, as he and Angle begin laying in the shots on Eddie. Jericho holds Guerrero in position, as Angle hits him with shots to the head and ribs, before dropping him through a table with the Angle Slam. Angle and Jericho leave like thieves in the night, as Mysterio comes running in to check on his fallen partner and friend. Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar are in Vince McMahon's office. Heyman says to Vince that "Mr. McMahon, tonight, you booked my client, Brock Lesnar, in a "tag team" match, where he will be forced to team up with somebody else. Vince, unless you were unaware, my client does not play well with others, and, despite this, you still booked him in a tag team match here tonight. May I ask, why?". Vince responds, looking at Heyman with a puzzled look. "Well, uh, Paul, the match has been made, and it's been advertised for the past week, and it's next. You don't really have much choice but to let your, "client", compete in this match". Heyman looks at McMahon. "Very well. Brock, let's go get ready", says Heyman, as he and Lesnar leave the office. Outside of the door, Heyman turns to Brock and says "If Vince doesn't want to do this the easy way, he can do it the hard way".
-Commercial Break- Brock Lesnar and Test vs Booker T and Chris BenoitAs the four finalists in the King Of The Ring Tournament prepare to go to war one more time before the finals, they stare each other down, knowing that in a little over a week, they will be battling for the ultimate opportunity; a shot at the WWE Championship. A reluctant Lesnar stands on the apron, as Test and Benoit begin the match. They wrestle for a while, with the bigger Test taking control, and going to tag in Lesnar, but Brock jumps off of the apron and refuses the tag, leaving Test to fend for himself. Test ignores Lesnar, and goes right back on the offensive, as Lesnar climbs back on the apron. As the match continues, the numbers game catches up to Test, as Booker and Benoit take turns to wear him down. Test starts to fight back, hitting a pump-handle slam on Benoit and a big boot on Booker T, before calling for the tag to Lesnar, and being ignored once again. Test goes for the pin on Booker, but Brock gets in the ring, pulls Test off, and starts wailing away on him in the corner, striking him with forearms and throwing him overhead with a belly-to-belly, causing the match to end. Lesnar turns his attention to Booker and Benoit, giving both men German suplexes, and throwing Booker outside the ring. Lesnar grabs Benoit again, and hits him with a knee to the gut followed by an F5. Benoit gets tossed out of the ring, before Test goes back after Lesnar, knocking him down with a shot to the back of the head, and bringing Lesnar to the outside. Test starts to attack Brock with punches and elbows to the head, and then throws him spine first into the steel steps. Test picks Lesnar up, but before he knows it, Lesnar lifts him up on his shoulders and throws him through the announce table with an F5. Lesnar stands tall above his opponent, as Paul Heyman raises his client's hand. "Is this a preview of this Sunday?!", asks Michael Cole. No Contest (6:03)
A split screen shot shows Edge and The Undertaker walking towards the gorilla position, preparing to sign the contract for their match at King Of The Ring.
-Commercial Break-
As we return from our commercial break, the crowd in South Carolina comes alive for Edge, as he makes his way down the ramp and into the ring, where a three chairs, Mr. McMahon, a table, and a contract are waiting for him. Edge is soon joined by The Undertaker, who does not take his eyes off of Edge, from the moment he comes through the curtain to the moment he gets in the ring. Undertaker takes a seat, as does Edge, and Mr. McMahon begins to speak. "Ladies and gentlemen, Edge, Undertaker, before me on this table, sits a contract for the WWE Championship match at King Of The Ring. When both men sign this contract, it signifies that the match is official, and will indeed happen with no questions at King Of The Ring. Edge, you are the challenger, and due to that, you may sign the contract first."Edge takes the contract, writes his name, and slides it over to The Undertaker, before talking into the microphone that's on the table. "I can tell what you're thinking, Undertaker. As you stare into my eyes, you think that you see a man who is scared. You think that you see a man who is in fear of you, but that's what differs me from all of your other opponents, and every other person that you've pushed around and bullied here for the past 15 years. I'm not afraid of you, Deadman. You don't intimidate me. Every time we face off, I don't fear you. All of your tactics, they don't work on me. No matter what you do, I am focused on one thing and one thing only. Taking that WWE Championship from you at King Of The Ring.""Boy, you better shut up before I reach over this table and make you. You're in way over your head, man. When it comes to comparisons between you and me, you ain't even in the same league, kid. This is my yard. I'm the big dog. I run this place, and you ain't nothin' but another pest, another annoying little creature, who keeps pokin' me, and gettin on my nerves. You're like a mosquito, Edge, and you know what you do with them? Ya squash em. Ya crush em. Ya kill em. And that's exactly what I'm gonna do to you this Sunday."
"You think you can squash me? You think you can just push me to the side? Then I say, why wait until this Sunday? If you're so tough, let's go, me and you, right now.""Is this kid insane?!" asks Tazz, as Edge and The Undertaker stand up and get in each other's face's. Vince tries to stop them, and Undertaker turns to talk to Vince, but in that time, Edge jumps the table and starts striking 'Taker in the head, nailing him with rights and lefts, busting The Undertaker's lip open. Undertaker throws Edge off, gets back up, and kicks him right in between the legs. Undertaker then grabs Edge and plants him with a chokeslam right through the table. Undertaker picks up the contract, signs his name, and throws it onto Edge's lifeless body. Undertaker climbs through the ropes, gets on his motorcycle, and leaves. © 2002, World Wrestling Entertainment.

The pyro explodes, the fans are rabid, and JR and The King welcome us to Monday Night Raw. Bradshaw vs GoldustAfter a dominant performance last week, Bradshaw looks to further establish himself as a major player on Raw, by racking up a victory at the expense of "The Bizzare One". JR notes that "You couldn't find two more different people, but they are both equally tough, and looking to establish themselves here on Raw". Goldust is quick to try and get Bradshaw down on the mat and go for the legs to take out his vertical base, keep him grounded, and stop his explosive style of offence. Goldust does a good job of it for the best part of the match, and in the latter stages, he gets Bradshaw into the corner and starts going to work with rapid fire shots, before getting him into position for Shattered Dreams. Goldust runs back into the corner and motions to the crowd, but that proves costly, as Bradshaw speeds out of the corner full steam ahead and drills him with the Clothesline From Hell for the victory. Bradshaw def. Goldust (3:40)
We go backstage to the office of Eric Bischoff, who is stood in there with Mr. McMahon, Lance Storm, Christian, William Regal, Test, Chris Jericho, Ric Flair and Triple H. Bischoff says that he's got an announcement that's going to make this Raw one to remember, and asks the men stood in the room to follow him.
As we return from our commercial break, Eric Bischoff and the men who were in the office with him are all stood in the ring. Bischoff has a microphone, and he says.. Mr. McMahon interrupts Bischoff, saying that before he goes any further, he has an announcement of his own. Mr. McMahon says that he has too much stuff going on back in Stamford, and as a result, regrettably has to step down from his position as Smackdown general manager. Bischoff gives him a confused look, before Mr. McMahon states that his replacement is none other than his daughter, Stephanie McMahon! Stephanie comes down the ramp, shakes her father's hand, and stands next to Bischoff as Mr. McMahon leaves. Bischoff continues where he left off. "The Texas Rattlesnake" walks out through the curtain to a thunderous ovation. He walks down to the ring and gets in, then looks at Bischoff, who starts talking again. Stephanie interrupts Bischoff, saying that while she loves the idea of all of Raw's top superstars in the same match, forcing "Stone Cold" to go against so many opponents on his own just wouldn't be fair. She goes on to say.. Stephanie stops speaking, as the theme song of The Hardy Boyz plays, and they join Austin in the ring. They are soon followed by Booker T and Rob Van Dam, who also get in the ring to stand on Austin's side. Bischoff is not pleased with Stephanie's idea, and says that he doesn't know who she thinks she is, and that he is the general manager of Raw, and he makes the decisions. Stephanie responds, saying.. The crowd cheers loudly. The crowd boos even louder than they cheered.
A promo for WWE Confidential, Saturday night on MTV is shown. This week's episode will feature Rob Van Dam's training regimen, Randy Orton going on a blind date, and a day in the life of Trish Stratus. Christopher Nowinski vs Spike DudleyLooking to make an impression in his debut match, Christopher Nowinski stands across the ring from his much smaller adversary, Spike Dudley, but as we have seen countless times in the past, Spike's size doesn't hold him back, and he can always get an upset victory when he needs to. Nowinski's size and power is on display early, and he scores an emphatic victory, defeating Spike with a swinging double underhook suplex in a little over a minute. Christopher Nowinski def. Spike Dudley (1:03)
As we go backstage, Trish Stratus is stood with Mark Lloyd. Mark asks Trish how she feels after being attacked by the debuting Victoria a couple of weeks back, to which Trish responds..
Upon our return from the commercial break, Booker T is in his locker room, tying his boots and preparing for his match later in the evening. Booker stands up, when suddenly, a red stick falls down on his shoulder. Book turns around and sees Goldust, dressed as Darth Vader from Star Wars, complete with Lightsabre. Booker looks at him with a puzzled expression, before saying.. Trish Stratus and Lita vs Victoria and JazzVictoria is visibly eager to go after her opponent at King Of The Ring, but she would have to make do with Lita first, as Stratus remained on the apron. Victoria and Lita lock up, with Victoria bringing the highflying Diva to the mat, trapping her in the body scissors and even a dragon sleeper. Lita manages to fight back, throwing the #1 Contender into the ropes and hitting a hip toss before tagging in Trish, with the champ coming in and immediately going after Jazz, who had been tagged in by Victoria. Jazz tries to use her power against the Champion, but Trish is too quick, and goes behind with the roll up. Jazz manages to kick out, but she's immediately caught with a kick to the head as she gets on her knees. Rush then backs into the ropes and plants Jazz with a short DDT, spiking her on her head. Jazz rolls to the outside, but she's met with a suicide dive from Lita. Back in the ring, Trish goes for the Chick Kick on Victoria, but Victoria counters it and drops the Women's Champion with the Widow's Peak. Victoria goes for the pin, and she steals a victory over the Women's Champion. Victoria and Jazz def Trish Stratus and Lita (4:05)
A promo for King Of The Ring is shown, featuring Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit, Booker T and Test talking about the war they will have to go through to earn the right to be called King Of The Ring. "My mind is spent."
"My muscles ache."
"My body is broken."
"Lead me to my throne."WWE King Of The Ring is live on Pay-Per-View, Sunday, June 26, 8e/7c. Triple H is getting ready for his main event match, with Ric Flair talking to him while he does so.
At the other end of the arena, The Hardy Boyz and RVD can be seen talking to each other, but we must cut back to the arena, as JR informs us that we have our main event up next. Triple H, Lance Storm, Christian, Test and Chris Jericho vs Rob Van Dam, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Booker T and Stone Cold Steve AustinAs one of the biggest main events in Raw history gets underway, Booker T and Christian begin the match. Booker gets Christian by the arm, going behind with the hammerlock and bringing him down to a knee. Christian tries to fight back, but Booker maintains his grip on the arm and tags in Matt Hardy. Matt comes in, hits Christian with an elbow to the arm, sends him off into the ropes, and connects with a back body drop to one half of the World Tag Team Champions. Christian quickly crawls over to his corner and tags in Lance Storm. Storm comes in, but he immediately gets a power slam from Hardy for his trouble. Test pulls Storm to the outside, trying to buy his partner some time, but they get none, as Jeff Hardy goes flying over the top rope with a topé, taking out Test and Storm. This causes the entire match to descend into anarchy, as Christian goes after Jeff Hardy, Booker T goes after Test, Matt Hardy goes after Lance Storm, and this leaves just Van Dam and Triple H in the ring. Both men stare each other down and get nose to nose, but Van Dam can't get any offence in, as Jericho attacks him from behind, allowing Triple H to take advantage. He throws RVD into the corner and hits the #1 Contender with boots to the gut, elbows to the head, strikes to the head, and more. The Game sends RVD off into the ropes and as soon as Van Dam comes back towards him, Triple H drops him with a facebuster, and then tags in Jericho. "Y2J" comes in and starts mocking RVD as he beats him down. Triple H's team keep RVD on their side, cutting the ring in half and preventing him from getting the tag for a good part of the match. The fighting spirit of RVD is too strong, however, and he rocks Test with a rolling kick later on in the match, and then jumps across the ring and tags in Stone Cold. Austin comes in like a house of fire, ducking the big boot and hitting him with the Thesz Press. Test tags in Chris Jericho, who comes in and gets hit with the Stunner. In comes Storm, who gets the same fate, and then in comes Christian, who gets rocked with the Stunner too. Triple H then comes in as the last resort, and while the referee's attention is turned, hits Austin with a low blow. Booker T jumps in and hits The Game with a scissors kick, and as his opponents and partners brawl on the outside, Booker sees his chance, and pulls off a spin-a-roonie in the middle of the ring. Booker tags in Jeff Hardy, who hits Triple H with a Swanton Bomb. Jeff Hardy then tags in RVD, who comes in and sets Triple H up for the 5 Star Frog Splash. Van Dam climbs to the top and he calls for it, but before he can hit it, Ric Flair is up on the apron, and pushes RVD off of the top rope, and looks awfully pleased with himself, until Lita came up behind him and connected with a low blow to Flair folding him in half and allowing the match to continue. At this time, Triple H was back up to his feet, and he and RVD were brawling with one another in the centre of the ring, exchanging shots, with Triple H prevailing, until he goes for a big shot, and Van Dam is able to duck and rock him with a Roundhouse, but before RVD can capitalise, Test is in the ring and attacks Van Dam from behind. Test stomps away on RVD, but when he turns around, Booker T hits him with a kick to the head! Booker then turns his attention to Christian, who is back in the ring. Christian and Booker brawl in the corner, but Lance Storm joined them and now the Un-Americans, Test included, are all ganging up on Booker, but Stone Cold is back in to break things up, striking away on Test, flipping him off and sending him over the top rope with a clothesline, before getting rid of Regal and Christian, too. Storm swings wildly, and gets nothing but a Stunner as he gets back up. Stone Cold cleans house, and the only men left in the ring are Triple H, Austin, and RVD. Stone Cold looks at Van Dam, nods, and sets Triple H up for the 5 Star Frog Splash. RVD hits it, and Team Austin score the victory. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rob Van Dam, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, and Booker T def. Triple H, Lance Storm, Christian, Test, and Chris Jericho
After the match, Austin's team are celebrating in the ring with some cold ones, but Van Dam won't take his eyes off of Triple H. The Game states at him, and flips Van Dam off, causing RVD to climb out through the ropes and go after Triple H. The two men start to brawl, as their teammates try their best to seperate them, but fail. Both men strike each other wherever they can, and finally, they are split up. Triple H is dragged away up the stage, and Van Dam is held back in the ring as Raw closes. © 2002, World Wrestling Entertainment.

The pyro explodes. The fans are rabid. And this is WWE Smackdown, live from Sacramento, California!
Smackdown is kicked off by none other than our current WWE Champion, The Undertaker. "The Deadman" rolls through the curtain on his motorcycle, and begins to ride his way down the ramp. Undertaker gets off of his bike and goes to grab his WWE Championship, but before he can, Edge is running full steam ahead down the ramp and takes Undertaker down with a clothesline. Edge is giving Undertaker everything he can, hitting 'Taker with rights and lefts, and then sending him crashing into the steel steps. Edge and Undertaker continue to brawl around the ringside area, until they reach the announce tables. Edge tries to bounce Undertaker's head off of the table, but The Deadman counters, using his hands to stop himself and smashing Edge in the nose with a back elbow, giving himself a few seconds to clear the announce table and set it up to possibly drive Edge through. Undertaker grabs Edge by the hair and throws him onto the table, and then climbs up himself and grabs Edge in position for the Tombstone. Michael Cole asks if The Undertaker is really sick enough to do this, but before we can find out, Edge has wormed his way out of it and is hammering away at the Deadman with shots to the head. Edge drops down and clocks Undertaker with a monitor, dropping 'Taker to a knee. Edge steps back and waits for Undertaker to get up, and when he does, Edge runs right through him with a spear, crashing through the table. Edge rolls away and gets back up to his feet, as referee's run down and The Undertaker clutches his midsection. Edge is held off, as Undertaker is tended to by referees.
After Smackdown's intro is played, Kurt Angle makes his way down to the ring, wearing his gold medal and looking incredibly pleased with himself. Angle gets into the ring with a microphone, and addresses the audience. A young man in jean shorts with a short haircut walks through the curtain and down the ramp. Michael Cole notes that his name is John Cena, and that he's a 24 year old from Massachusetts. Cena gets into the ring, as Angle stares at him, seemingly amused. Angle asks what quality does Cena think he has that makes him worthy of facing Kurt Angle. Cena takes the microphone and he starts to rap. Cena slaps Angle in the face, getting the match underway. Kurt Angle vs John CenaThe young Cena wastes no time in going after Angle, jumping on top of him with the Thesz Press and rocking the former Olympian with rights and lefts. Angle tries to find some reprieve on the outside, but Cena doesn't let up, and sends Angle spine first into the barricade. The action makes it's way back to the ring, and Cena goes for the cover, but Angle kicks out. To the surprise of Tazz, and many in the arena, Cena appears to be holding his own against Angle, up until the point where Kurt counters a wild swing into a German Suplex, and then begins to dominate. Throwing Cena everywhere with suplexes, locking him in holds and slapping him around, Angle starts to embarrass the rookie, clearly not taking kindly to his words prior to the match. After fooling around with Cena for a good while, the kid starts to get back up and take shots at Kurt. Angle ducks, but referee Mike Chioda catches it and goes down. Angle hits the Angle Slam on Cena and starts to celebrate in the ring. As he does, however, Eddie Guerrero jumps the barricade and hits him with a low blow. The Olympic Gold Medallist folds over to the mat, and Guerrero drags Cena on top of him. Chioda slowly counts, and John Cena scores an unreal upset victory in his WWE debut. John Cena def. Kurt Angle (8:24)Angle looks up the ramp from the ring, still grounded and favouring his groin, as Guerrero laughs at him.
-Commercial Break-
A cameraman and Jonathan Coachman are on location at Hanover, West Virginia, in what appears to be a trailer park. Coach says that they are here to get a word with the new Cruiserweight Champion, Jamie Noble, ahead of his clash with Billy Kidman at King Of The Ring. Coach knocks on the door, and it's answered by Noble's girlfriend, Nidia, barely clothed, in just her underwear. She says that Jamie is.. occupied inside, but everyone watching can be sure that Noble and herself will be at King Of The Ring and that Jamie will most definitely defeat Kidman to retain the title. Suddenly, however, a seemingly drunken Noble stumbles through the hallway, wearing just a towel and cowboy hat. He asks Nidia what's taking her so long, and Nidia closes the door to their trailer. Edge is making his way to the locker rooms, when Smackdown's new GM, Stephanie McMahon, stops him. She asks Edge if he's ok, and he tells her that he's fine. Stephanie goes on to say that he should probably go back to the hotel, because she can't risk another altercation between him and The Undertaker due to the high chance one man could get injured and ruin the main event at King Of The Ring. Edge refuses, saying that he has some unfinished business to tend to before he can leave the arena. Edge walks away, as Stephanie looks on in disappointment.
The crowd erupts at the sight of The Godfather dancing his way through the curtain, trailed by an army of females. Shortly behind them is Val Venis, visibly pleased. Godfather gets to the ring and starts to talk. Christian and Lance Storm , flanked by Test and William Regal, stand on the stage and look on in disgust.
Non-Title Match - The Godfather and Val Venis vs The Un-Americans Godfather and Valbowski get some early offence in, but they're soon cut off by Storm and Christian, who keep Godfather on their side of the ring and wear his long legs down with various attacks, with Storm using submissions and Christian opting to use kicks and elbows. Michael Cole praises the Tag Team Champions, saying that while you might not agree with their message, you've got to give credit where credit is due, and The Un-Americans make a fantastic team. Christian starts to get complacent later on in the match, mocking Godfather in the corner and slapping him. Christian steps back and poses to the crowd, but when he turns around, Godfather runs through him with the Hooooo Train! Christian goes down, and Godfather tags in Val Venis, who comes in like a house on fire, giving Christian and Storm clotheslines, and then a spinebuster to Storm in the center of the ring. Venis goes for the cover, but Christian dives in and breaks up the cover. Val wastes no time, however, hitting Storm with The Big Package and then trapping him a new submission hold, that Cole says he's calling "The Venis Fly-Trap". As Val wrenches on it further and further, Test climbs to the top rope and lands on top of Venis' chest with a flying elbow, causing the disqualification. The Godfather and Val Venis def. The Un-Americans via DQ (5:11)
-Commercial Break-
Edge is in his locker room, when he's suddenly ambushed by The Undertaker, who strikes Edge in the midsection with knees, strikes him in the head, and then sends him crashing into the lockers, and as Edge lay there motionless, Undertaker leaves.
DDP vs William Regal The most positive superstar on the WWE roster gets a hard fought victory over a game William Regal after a Diamond Cutter seemingly out of nowhere. DDP def. William Regal (6:03)
Backstage, Edge is being tended to by doctors, as Stephanie McMahon and Rey Mysterio stand by. The doctor finished taping Edge's ribs, and tells him that he has 3 cracked ribs, and that it would be best to go back to the hotel and then back home, missing King Of The Ring. Stephanie and Rey both agree with the doctor and tell him to leave, but Edge says no. He says that he's worked too hard for too long to let his opportunity go to waste. The doctor tells him that he will more then likely worsen his injury by competing, especially against somebody like the Undertaker. Edge tells the doctor that no matter what, he will be wrestling Sunday, come hell or high water. He gets up and leaves the locker room.
Booker T vs Tajiri Booker gets the win after the Scissors Kick. The Japanese Buzzsaw put in a valiant effort, but was ultimately unsuccessful. Booker T def. Tajiri (8:23)
-Commercial Break-
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring. Heyman, with his microphone, starts talking.
As Lesnar and Heyman prepare to leave, Big Show's theme hits and he joins them in the ring.
Big Show vs Brock Lesnar Immediately, as soon as the bell rings, Brock is all over Show, striking him all over and then pushing the giant into the corner and connecting with shoulder tackles to the gut. Show pushes Lesnar away, but like a rhino, Lesnar charges back towards Big Show and rushes him into the corner with a spear. Lesnar continues to pound away on Show, in the corner, before pulling him away, and actually managing to throw The Big Show over his head with a German Suplex. Big Show, visibly in shock, gets back up, and goes back after Lesnar. As the match continues, Brock still maintains his control. Show has small bursts of offence, but Lesnar keeps the monster contained, and in the latter goings, as Big Show stumbles out of the corner, in a superhuman feat of strength, Lesnar lifts Big Show up on his shoulders and drops him with an F5 for the victory. Brock Lesnar def. Big Show (9:03)
Michael Cole asks just who will stop Brock Lesnar if he can do something like that to the Big Show, as our camera feed cuts backstage.
The cameraman is following Edge, taped ribs and all, as he walks to a hallway and sees The Undertaker. Edge and Undertaker stare each other down, before charging towards each other and beginning to exchange punches, with neither man truly prevailing. Undertaker tries to overpower Edge, but he will simply not back down, and continues to bring the fight to the WWE Champion. Undertaker finally gets the upper hand, throwing Edge spine first into a wall, before grabbing a steel chair and swinging, but Edge ducks, and Undertaker hits nothing but wall, as Edge goes back to striking The Deadman. Security, referees and WWE superstars come down to stop the brawl and seperate the two opponents as Smackdown closes.

June 23, 2002 | Nationwide Arena, Columbus, OH WWE Women's Championship Trish Stratus (c) vs VictoriaThe borderline insane challenger has gotten under the skin of Stratus in recent weeks, determined to become Women's Champion and rule the division. Trish isn't going to let that happen easily, however. Both women lock up, and Victoria gets the better early on, locking in a rear chinlock, and then changing into a full-nelson. Trish fights back with elbows to the gut and pulls off a bulldog, but is unsuccessful in her attempt at a neckbreaker, as Victoria counters it into a facebuster following a series of knee lifts. Trish moves to the corner, where Victoria gives her a number of stomps and uses her knee to choke the champion in the corner. Trish gets up, but Victoria is right there with brutal chops to the chest of Stratus, who then lifts her up, drops her stomach first across the top rope, and then hits a beautiful modified neckbreaker, using the top rope for extra leverage to do further damage to Trish than the move normally would. Victoria fails in her pinfall attempt, and then begins to argue with the referee, who states that Stratus kicked out fair and square, which is technically true. After arguing, Victoria turns around into a high knee to the gut from Trish, who drops a leg across Victoria's neck, and then locks in a single leg crab on her challenger. Victoria is writhing in pain for a while, until she finds the strength to fight back and kick Stratus away. Trish hits the ropes and falls forward into a Small Package from Victoria, but she's able to kick out. Both women get back up, and begin an exchange in the middle of the ring, trading punches and kicks. Stratus goes for the Chick Kick, Victoria pushes it away, and takes advantage of that one moment by spinning Trish around, hitting her with a rolling elbow to the back of the head, and then hitting the Widow's Peak. In an absolute shocker, Victoria steals a win and the Women's Championship from Trish. Victoria def. Trish Stratus to become the new Women's Champion

June 23, 2002 | Nationwide Arena, Columbus, OH
After the signature intro for WWE programming played, Stephanie McMahon was shown in her office, sat on her desk. The new General Manager of Smackdown declared that she had a major announcement that will majorly affect this evening's WWE Championship match, and it goes as follows;
Looking as focused as ever, "The Rabid Wolverine" walks down the ramp with one thing clearly on his mind; defeating Booker T and moving onto the finals later in the evening. Booker T, who has been on a quest of sorts to earn the respect of his peers and co-workers as of late, walks down to the ring, looking confident and focused. King Of The Ring Semi-Final Match Booker T vs Chris BenoitThe two men circle each other, before shaking hands and locking up. Benoit gains the early advantage, going behind and bringing Booker down to the mat with a takedown and locking in a front facelock on the mat. Benoit tries for the Crossface early on, but Booker manages to escape it, and as he gets back up, the look on Booker's face says that he knows how dangerous the Crossface is, and that he must avoid it at all costs. They lock up one more time, with Benoit again getting control and pushing Booker into the ropes. We get a clean break, and the two begin an exchange. Booker goes for a running axe kick, Benoit ducks and goes for a German Suplex, Booker escapes, sweeps the legs of Benoit and dives forward to try and take control of the head, Benoit escapes and goes after the legs, Booker rolls over and kicks him off before he nips up and goes for the shot to the head that Benoit manages to avoid before he grabs Booker and sends him off into the ropes, and as they come back at each other, they both duck their clothesline attempts, Booker then leapfrogs over Benoit, and both men catch each other with a dropkick as the fans applaud. Benoit gets up first and rocks Booker with forearms to the face, sending him into the corner. Chris doesn't let up, and goes back after the former 5x, 5x, 5x, 5x, 5x WCW Champion with vicious knife edge chops, lighting Booker T up. Book stumbles out of the corner, and Benoit catches him with a belly to belly. Benoit, realising that he is in full control, starts to dictate the pace, and he keeps Booker on the mat for the next portion of the match, switching between holds, but mainly focusing his attack on the left arm and shoulder, dropping elbows and knees, tying the elbow up and stomping on it, locking in an armbar and more in an attempt to weaken his opponent. JR talks about the sheer aggression that Chris shows whenever he's in the ring, and says that it's simply unmatched by any other man on the WWE roster, and that's what will take Benoit through to the finals if he can keep his focus. By this time, however, the tenacious 'T was fighting back, striking Benoit in the face as he made it back to his feet. Booker hits Chris in the midsection with knees, followed by a Book-End, but Benoit wisely rolls under the bottom rope before Booker can attempt a cover. Booker instead however goes right back on the offensive, connecting with a stinger splash in the corner and dropping Chris right on his head with a DDT. Booker is feeling it, and goes down on one knee, calling for the spinaroonie. The fans in Ohio want to see it, and Booker manages it, but when he jumps back up, Benoit is there to catch him and throw him with a bridging German suplex that almost puts Booker T away and allows Chris Benoit to advance to the finals. Booker slowly gets back to his feet and Benoit runs off into the ropes, but before he can connect with any offence, Booker catches him with a hard spinebuster, dropping Benoit in the center of the ring. Booker gets up and starts calling for Benoit to rise too, then connects with a kick to Benoit's gut, runs off into the ropes and attempts the scissors kick, but misses, as Benoit moves and gets back up. Benoit takes Booker down with a Russian Leg Sweep, rolls through and then locks in the Crippler Crossface, and from that point, it was academic. Chris Benoit def. Booker T to advance to the finals of the King Of The Ring tournament
The challenger walks down the ramp with a purpose, clearly looking to take back the WWE Cruiserweight Championship after losing it to Noble a couple of weeks ago. Jamie Noble, the new Champion, looks extremely smug as he walks to the ring, with the Cruiserweight Championship on his waist and Nidia by his side. WWE Cruiserweight Championship Jamie Noble (c) vs Billy KidmanBoth men are cagey in the beginnings, circling the ring, each man daring the other to make the first move. They go for the Greco-Roman knucklelock, with Noble prevailing at first, arching Kidman's back over his knee and taking control, or so he thought, as Kidman climbs back to his feet, steps over Noble's arm and throws him with an armdrag, but maintains his grip on Noble's arm and locks in an armbar. Kidman starts to take control, switching between holds, finally settling on a bodyscissor/chinlock combination, wearing the Champion down and getting closer to holding the gold again. Noble gets back up and smashes Kidman in the face with an elbow shot, following it up with a high dropkick, sending Billy down and to the outside. Noble goes for the slingshot cross-body, but Kidman gets back in the ring before Noble can connect, then goes flying out of it again with a second rope suicide dive, taking out Noble and himself temporarily as they both go crashing into the barricade. Kidman starts to make a vertical base again, and breaks the referee's count as he waits for Noble to get back into the match, who just makes it under the bottom rope at a count of 9. Noble runs off into the ropes, but Kidman catches him with a Hurricanrana before he can capitalise. With the Champion down, Kidman decides to roll the dice and pulls off a split-legged moonsault, but only gets a count of two as Nidia places Noble's feet on the bottom rope. As Kidman argues with Nidia, Jamie Noble is able to recover behind him, and throw Billy over his head with a belly-to-belly suplex, before bringing the pace of the match down and locking in the Indian Deathlock on the challenger. Kidman writhes in pain, as Noble continues to apply pressure to the lower legs. Kidman makes it the bottom rope, much to the chagrin of the Cruiserweight Champion, who throws Billy into the corner and viciously stomps him a number of times, not responding to the referee's 5 count and having to be held back by the ref. Noble picks Kidman back up and drops him with a big brainbuster, as Kidman favours his neck. With Billy in a seated position, Noble shoots odd into the ropes and connects with a basement dropkick, hitting Kidman right on the jaw. Noble attempts a cover, but Kidman kicks out. Noble goes for a second, and Kidman again kicks out. Noble attempts a third cover, but again, the challenger gets the shoulder up, making Noble angrier and angrier. Jamie argues with the referee, as the referee tries to tell him that Kidman kicked out before three all three times. Noble goes back on the offensive, throwing Kidman over with a snapmare and running into the ropes, Kidman however jumps up onto his feet and goes for a victory roll but only manages a two count. As Noble tries to get back up, Kidman strikes him in the chest with a stiff kick and follows it with a reverse DDT, dropping the Champion down on the back of his head. Kidman doesn't go for a cover, instead climbing to the top rope. Noble sees it, and grabs Kidman by the legs as he climbs onto the second rope. Noble, now holding Kidman in powerbomb position, stands up and throws Kidman across the ring with a super powerbomb. Noble starts to get back up and picks Kidman up with him. Noble gets a double underhook and attempts what looks like a Tiger Bomb, but Kidman fights back, hitting Noble with forearms and following it up with a kick to the gut and a BK Bomb. Kidman sees the opportunity and climbs to the top rope for the Shooting Star Press. He goes for it, but Noble rolls away, and Kidman hits nothing but canvas. Jamie rolls up Kidman, and with Nidia pulling Kidman's legs down to give Noble some extra leverage, Jamie steals the win and retains the Cruiserweight Championship. Jamie Noble def. Billy Kidman to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Standing next to Lillian Garcia is Chris Benoit, fresh off the heels of defeating Booker T to advance to the finals of the King Of The Ring tournament. "Bravo, bravo, bravo, a fine speech, Mr. Benoit", says a voice, who turns out to be Paul Heyman. Heyman tells Benoit that he may have heart, and he may have passion, but what he doesn't have is the freakish strength and the brute force possessed by Brock Lesnar, and that he can rest assured that tonight, one man is walking out of Ohio as the King Of The Ring, and his name is Brock Lesnar. Heyman is then interrupted, as William Regal, Test, and the rest of The Un-Americans walk down the hallway. Regal says that if Lesnar thinks he can just look past Test as a mere roadblock, then he's out of his bloody mind. Test then says that he's going to do what no other man has been able to do, make Brock Lesnar look like a bitch, and that "The Next Big Thing" is gonna get "The Next Big Boot". Lesnar and Test stare down, as Brock smiles and the camera fades back to the arena.
World Tag Team Championships The Hardy Boyz vs The Un-Americans (c)As soon as the bell rings, the Hardyz have a sense of urgency about them, with Jeff immediately hitting Christian with a dropkick, sending him out of the ring. Hardy follows it up with a Topé to the outside, crashing on top of Christian and Storm. Jeff brings Christian back into the ring and then tags in his brother, who goes on to connect with a brutal reverse DDT, dropping Christian on the back of his head, but only getting a two count. Hardy continues his onslaught, throwing Christian into the corner and hitting ten punches to the head. As Christian slumps down, Jeff Hardy comes in and tries for the Hardy-ac Arrest, but Christian is able to move out of the way and tag in his methodical partner, Lance Storm. Storm's first attack is a bridging Northern Lights suplex, which Hardy is able to kick out of. That doesn't stop Storm, who rolls back through, picks Jeff Hardy up and hits a dragon screw, taking out the lower leg, ergo, most of Jeff Hardy's highflying offence. As Regal distracts the referee, Storm begins to get dirty, bringing Hardy to the outside and hitting a kneebreaker, using the steel steps instead of his knee and causing further damage to the knee of Jeff Hardy. Storm gets back into the ring, as Hardy favours his leg outside of it. The referee counts to 9 before Jeff gets back up and into the ring, to Storm's anger. Storm again takes the match to the outside, sending Hardy crashing into the barricade. Storm then turns his attention to Lita, who is trying to will Jeff Hardy on. As Storm walks towards her with a purpose, Matt Hardy runs around and stops him, taking Lance down with a clothesline. Lita isn't totally free, however, as Christian walks up from behind, turns her around and steals a kiss. "What a creepy little bastard", says JR, disgusted at Christian's actions. Storm and Hardy slowly get back into the ring, with Jeff getting up to his feet quicker and hitting Storm with a heel kick. Unluckily for Hardy, Storm lands right underneath Christian's feet, allowing him to tag in and bring Hardy back over to his corner. Christian smashes one of his challengers with forearms, after which, he taunts Matt Hardy, before going back to Jeff Hardy. Storm and Christian maintain their control over Jeff Hardy for most of the match after this, cutting the ring in half and mainly focusing on Hardy's legs. Christian starts to get cocky after a while, and slaps Jeff right in the face. All this seems to do is fire up the challenger, though, who rocks Christian with a right hand, and then jumps across the ring to tag in his brother. Matt runs into the match with a full head of steam, taking Christian down with a clothesline and giving Storm the side effect. Christian runs towards Hardy again, and all he gets for his trouble is a swinging neckbreaker. Storm then comes back in, and manages to slow Hardy down with punches, but just for a minute, as Matt comes right back at him with punches of his own. Matt tries to run into the ropes, but Christian and Regal grab him by the feet and trip him up to stop it. As they gloat, Lita comes over and gets a measure of revenge for Christian's actions earlier in the match, slapping him in the face, and then hitting Regal with a low blow. "Oh no, right in the Crown Jewels!", exclaims King. By this time, Jeff Hardy is up, and connects with the Whisper In The Wind on Storm. Jeff then starts to pump up the crowd, calling for the Twist Of Fate. He hits it and goes for a cover, but the referee can't count it, as Storm is not the legal man. Matt Hardy tags in and rolls Christian into the ring to finish him off. Matt now calls for the Twist Of Fate, but while he is doing so, Regal throws something in to Christian. Hardy grabs Christian for the Twist Of Fate, but he gets rocked with a punch to the face that appears to have knocked him out. Christian now seems to be putting something into his tights, and all signs point to him using brass knuckles. Regal grabs Lita on the outside and Storm threatens to superkick her, leaving Jeff Hardy torn. Does he get into the ring and save the match? Or does he stay out of it and save Lita? Jeff opts to save Lita, leaving Christian to get the pin and thus allowing the Un-Americans to retain. The Un-Americans def. The Hardy Boyz (13:25)Jeff and Lita check on Matt in the ring, as he slowly makes it up to his feet. Matt exclaims "where the hell were you?!". Jeff tries to explain that he was trying to save Lita, but Matt ignores it and shoves his brother away. Lita tries to seperate the two, but Matt pushes her away and tells her to "stay out of it". Jeff shoves Matt back, asking him "who the hell he thinks he is", and shortly after, the two come to blows. They both swing for each other with everything they have, until Matt hits Jeff with a low blow and throws him into the steel steps. Hardy lands very awkwardly, going upside-down and spine first into the steps, causing him to drop down on his neck. Lita tries to talk some sense into Matt, but Hardy can be heard saying "I don't need you, and I don't need him. I'm done with the two of you". He storms off, leaving his brother for dead, as Lita isn't sure what to do.
Backstage, Brock Lesnar is shown in his locker room with Paul Heyman, preparing for his match against Test. Heyman is trying to psych him up, and get him ready for the night that follows. Paul puts his hands on Brock's shoulders, and starts to talk to him.
King Of The Ring Semi-Final Brock Lesnar vs TestBoth men stare each other down from the moment they get into the ring. Neither man wants to back down, and as soon as the bell rings, both Test and Lesnar run for each other and connect with clotheslines, each man being knocked back by the force of the other. They try again, but they both stay on their feet. Test seizes the opportunity and goes for a quick clothesline on Lesnar, but Brock ducks it, goes behind and hits the first German Suplex of the match, taking Test off of his feet and genuinely surprising the big man, as he gets overpowered for possibly the first time in his career. Lesnar dares Test to come at him, gesturing to hit him in the face as hard as he can. Test hits him with a forearm, Lesnar reciprocates, and a large number of forearm strikes are exchanged between both men, until Test starts to fold and Lesnar continues to strike him. Brock throws Test into the corner and runs towards him, but the Canadian catches him with a big boot, a move that he's used to put down countless superstars in the past. Test tries for the cover, but to the surprise of him and most people in the arena, Lesnar kicks out at one. Test, shocked, tries to focus on continuing to take Lesnar out. He hits him with forearms down on the mat. Test gets back up to his feet, but before he knows it, Brock is back up and tackling him into the corner. Shoulder block after shoulder block smashes into the gut of the Un-American. Test stumbles forward into a belly to belly suplex from Lesnar, flying across the ring as Paul Heyman looks on in approval. Test, now down on the mat, isn't going to stay their for long, because Brock grabs him by the waist and hits him with a deadlift German Suplex, doing further damage to the former Hardcore Champion. Lesnar starts toying with Test at this point, slapping him and brushing his boot across his face. Test shows some signs of life, fighting back with punches to Brock's head and a series of elbow smashes in the corner, but knee lifts to the face from Lesnar followed by an F5 finish him off for good and eliminate him from the tournament. Brock Lesnar def. Test to advance to the finals of the King Of The Ring Tournament
After coming out to a roaring ovation, the clearly focused Rey Mysterio makes his way down to the ring, hell bent on settling the score between himself and Jericho.
"Cut my music..", says Jericho, microphone in hand, as he walks down the ramp. Jericho drops his microphone, with every intention of leaving the arena, but before he can, Mysterio goes flying off the top rope with a seated senton, taking Jericho down and signifying that he has other plans. WWE Intercontinental Championship Chris Jericho (c) vs Rey MysterioRey gets Jericho into the ring and goes right after him, looking to finish this one quick. A basement dropkick and a spike hurricanrana knock Jericho silly, as Mysterio looks to set up for the 619. Jericho stumbles to his feet and gets hung up on the ropes, but wisely falls backwards as Mysterio swings through the ropes. Jericho then grabs Rey from behind and with a handful of pants, tries for a schoolboy, but Rey is able to kick out. Jericho, on his knees, doesn't stay on them for long, as Mysterio kicks him in the side of the head, taking him down. Mysterio, with the crowd in Ohio behind him, connects with a spinning leg drop, and then jumps over the ropes onto the apron, looking for the West Coast Pop. Rey jumps from the top rope, but Jericho counters it into a brutal powerbomb, stopping the highflying luchador in his track. Jericho is unrelenting after that, stomping on Mysterio, throwing him into the corner, chopping him and slapping him. "Y2J" yells "come on, you son of a bitch!", before smashing Mysterio in the face with a forearm shot and following that with a running bulldog. With Mysterio down, Jericho performs his signature one footed, non-chalant cover, all the while shouting "come on, bay bay!", but Mysterio easily kicks out. Jericho is clearly annoyed, and takes it out on Mysterio by dropping him throat first on the top rope and immediately following that up with a neckbreaker. Jericho again attempts a cover, but Mysterio is too close to the ropes. Chris picks him back up, attempting a back suplex, Mysterio counters, lands on his feet, shoots off into the ropes and has Jericho dazed after a tilt-a-whirl headscissors takedown. Rey doesn't hang around, firing off with lighting kicks to the leg and torso of Jericho, ending the sequence with a buzzsaw kick. Jericho gets back up and swings wildly, missing every strike, and Mysterio immediately folds him up with a victory roll, but instead of hooking the leg, Mysterio rolls through and sends Jericho into the middle rope again. Rey tries for the 619 a second time, and appears to connect, but as it happens, Jericho caught his legs and now pulls him through, locking in the Walls Of Jericho. The longer Mysterio stays trapped, the more pain he's in. Jericho modifies it into a Liontamer, but Mysterio manages to break free. Rey fights back again, this time going for a hurricanrana on Jericho, but "Y2J" pulls the referee in front him, stopping Mysterio in his tracks. Jericho pushes the ref away, low blows Mysterio, and then spins him around, dropping him with a full-nelson facebuster, which Tazz noted he calls "Breakdown" for the win. Rey gave it his all, and was unfairly screwed by Jericho and his cheating ways. Chris Jericho def. Rey Mysterio to retain the Intercontinental Championship
A promo advertising Vengeance on July 21 in Detroit was shown. Eric Bischoff, referee in tow, walks down to the ring, decked out in a Gi. He begins to address the crowd after he grabs a microphone. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Eric BischoffMere milliseconds later, the glass shattered, and "The Texas Rattlesnake" was making a beeline for the ring and Eric Bischoff. Austin wasted no time in jumping on to his boss and raining down rights and lefts. A groggy Bischoff got up and started swinging wildly, with Austin able to easily dodge all of them and hit the Raw General Manager with a stunner. Stone Cold then walked out of the ring, grabbed a chair and two beers, sat down, and watched Bischoff try in vain to get back up to his feet. Steve called for a microphone, and started to talk to Bischoff. Every fan in the arena responds with a resounding "HELL YEAH!"Austin gets on the mat and kneels down next to Bischoff, as the fans start chanting "what?". Stone Cold holds the mic up to Bischoff's mouth, who responds with an emphatic "screw you, Austin!". Stone Cold takes exception, and starts beating Eric down again, following it up with a Stunner. As Stone Cold gets another beer, he's suddenly knocked down by two large, imposing men. The two men start an assault on Austin, with one of them hitting a sitout spinebuster, taking "The Texas Rattlesnake" out. The other man drags Bischoff over on top of Austin, as the referee counts to three, and Bischoff barely beats Austin in under 3 minutes. Eric Bischoff def. Stone Cold Steve Austin (2:58)Bischoff, Rosey and Jamal leave down the ramp, as Stone Cold lays in the ring, motionless. Kevin Kelly is standing by with Kurt AngleA slow applause interrupts Kurt, and the camera moves over to show Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman standing across from Angle. Before Angle can say anything, Lesnar moves forward, and the two stand nose-to-chest. Angle moves past Lesnar and leaves for the curtain, as Lesnar looks on and smiles.
Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt AngleTwo of the most intense men in all of WWE try and throw each other off of their game early on. They dance around each other for a while, and both are tentative to lock up, but they start things off with the Greco-Roman knuckle lock. Angle gets the upper hand, arching Guerrero's back over his knee and going for the pin by holding Eddie's hands down on the mat and putting the weight of his knees on Guerrero's hips. Eddie pops his shoulder up every time Angle attempts a cover, and breaks the last attempt by bridging up. Angle wisely uses his feet to kick Eddie in the thighs to drop him down onto his back, but Guerrero again kicks out. Both men get back up, and this time, Guerrero climbs over Angle's arm, twisting it and taking control. He then drives his foot into the back of Angle's knee, dropping him down to his knees. Guerrero then wraps his legs around Kurt's torso, and grabs him by the head, trapping him in a Dragon Sleeper, but Angle gets his foot on the bottom rope relatively fast. Both rise back to their feet, and this time lock up in a more traditional collar and elbow tie up. Angle goes for the arm, but Guerrero is too quick and gets Angle in a waistlock. Angle then follows that by reaching through his legs and pulling Guerrero down by the ankle, attempting to lock in the ankle lock early, but Guerrero wisely makes it to the ropes. Eddie, now knowing that he has to be careful of Angle targeting the ankle, moves in for a double leg on Kurt, but Angle grabs him by the gut, deadlifts him and throws him overhead with a gutwrench suplex. "That's the impressive power of the Olympic Gold Medalist, Cole, he might not look like the biggest guy, but believe me, he's got freakish strength", said Tazz, as Angle started to ground Guerrero and pinpoint his offence on the ankle and leg, locking in a series of holds, but Guerrero was able to escape from Angle's attempted leg bar and take him down with a hurricanrana, forcing Kurt out of the ring to recuperate. Upon his return between the ropes, Angle was met with chops by Guerrero, who lit him up in the corner with a series of knife edge chops, showing shades of Ric Flair. Following a snap suplex, Guerrero chooses to slow down the pace of the match, focusing on Angle's arm and hand with a short arm scissors. After being trapped in the hold for a considerable amount of time, Angle starts to show some signs of life, and breaks out of it by physically lifting Guerrero up in the air whilst he still has the hold locked in and dropping him on his back. Angle rolls back to Guerrero's leg, and then rolls forward whilst holding him by the ankle, twisting it to an uncomfortable degree. After using the ropes to cause further damage to the ankle, Kurt goes for the cover, with Guerrero being able to kick out. Kurt is visibly trying to figure out where to go for his next attack, and he finally decides on a modified cloverleaf, arching Guerrero's back further than usual and driving his knee into the neck. Kurt continues to wrestle the match at his usual slow, methodical pace, until Guerrero's tenacity pulls through and he's able to mount a comeback, almost putting Angle away after a rollup. Eddie goes for the Three Amigos, but Angle breaks out of the third one and gives Guerrero another German Suplex. "This is why he's called the "wrestling machine", Cole, every time it looks like Guerrero is starting to mount a comeback, Angle is there to cut him off. It looks to me that Kurt Angle well and truly has Eddie Guerrero's number", says Tazz as Angle continues to work over Guerrero on the mat. Kurt's dominant display continues, but the tenacious Eddie Guerrero just will not stay down, and keeps trying with all he has to bring the fight to Angle. A series of forearm shots and a spike DDT finally swings the match in Eddie's favour, and he begins to wrestle at his pace. Angle falls victim to the second attempt at the Three Amigos, and then catches a Hilo from Guerrero. Eddie then tries to beat Angle at his own game, first hitting him with a brainbuster on the knee, and then locking him in an innovative submission, holding Angle upside down across his knee, putting all of the pressure of Angle's 220lb frame across his surgically repaired neck. Angle does get to the ropes using his free arm, but the damage has been done, and Kurt is very clearly showing signs of neck pain. Guerrero looks at that like a bullseye, elbowing Angle across the neck and throwing him into the corner with a release belly-to-belly, with Angle's predicament worsening after he lands right on top of his neck on the way down. Eddie begins to really feel it at this point, dancing and firing the crowd up. Signalling to the top rope, Eddie looks to be preparing for the Three Amigos. Guerrero climbs to the top rope and poses for the fans once again, a costly mistake, as Angle climbs the turnbuckles too, and Guerrero is thrown off of the top rope and across the ring with an avalanche release belly to belly suplex. Kurt, who's seemingly found his second wind, wastes no time diving on top of Guerrero for the pinfall, but Eddie still manages to kick out. Instead of getting mad, Angle grabs Guerrero by the ankle and hits another Dragon Screw, following that up with a shinbreaker, and following that up with a slightly modified snapmare; performing the move closer to the ropes and ergo causing Guerrero's legs to hit the middle rope. Angle then locks in the Ankle Lock, dragging Guerrero into the center of the ring and grapevining him. With the hold fully locked on, Guerrero, in visible agony, desperately tries to make it to the bottom rope. Guerrero is just inches away, but those inches have got to feel like miles for the big hearted Guerrero. Eddie finally makes it to the bottom rope, and Angle tries to drag him back towards the center, but Guerrero manages to boot the Olympian in the face to break free. Eddie, limping, gets back up, and possibly using the last gas he has left in the tank, lifts Angle up for a Tiger Bomb. Angle lands on his feet, Guerrero goes for a small package, but Angle rolls through and locks in the Ankle Lock again. This time, Eddie was left with no choice to tap out. Guerrero fought long and hard, but Angle proved to be too much for Latino Heat. Kurt Angle def. Eddie Guerrero
A commercial for WWE WrestleMania X8: The Video Game was shown. WWF WrestleMania X8 is out now in stores everywhere, only for Nintendo GameCube.
A split screen was shown, featuring Chris Benoitstretching in his locker room on one side, and Brock Lesnar getting psyched up by Paul Heyman on the other. The two men will meet after the next match to determine who will earn the right to be crowned the 2002 King Of The Ring.
We get a video package detailing the rivalry between Rob Van Dam and the World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H.
World Heavyweight Championship Triple H (c) vs Rob Van DamBoth men are relatively cagey early on, until they lock up, and RVD gets the better of the hold exchange, but opting to release "The Game" before really locking anything in. The engage a second time, with Van Dam again taking control. The third time, Triple H gets mad, and runs straight for the challenger, but misses, goes into the turnbuckles, and turns around into a monkey flip from Van Dam. They lock up once again, but this time, Triple H finally uses his power and strength advantage to get the better of RVD. The cocky Champion pushes Van Dam against the ropes, waits until 4 to release him, and then slaps him across the face, in a blatant show of disrespect. Triple H then sarcastically extends the hand, to which Van Dam responds by kicking it away, folding Triple H in half with a soulbutt and following that up with a spinkick. With the Champion down, Van Dam looks to wrestle his type of match, and goes down on to the mat, positioning Triple H in a urfboard hold, and then modifying that into a dragon sleeper, but keeping his legs in the same position, stretching out Triple H even further. RVD then rises back up and maintains his grip, dropping a leg across the throat of "The Game" and covering him, but only getting a two count. RVD doesn't waste any time complaining, instead shoving the champion into the corner and setting up for another monkey flip, but Triple H is wise enough to counter this one, holding onto Van Dam's legs, dropping him to his feet, and almost decapitating him with a clothesline. The Game then blatantly chokes the challenger in front of the referee, who admonishes him, but Triple H just brushes him off. Back on his feet, Triple H traps RVD in the abdominal stretch, and drives his elbow into the rib cage for further pressure. After being trapped for a couple of minutes, Van Dam makes it to the ropes, only to be lifted up by Triple H and dropped with a pump-handle slam right after. On the mat, Triple H starts to slow the pace down again, going after RVD's main weapon, his legs, and locking in an inverted Indian Deathlock. JR notes that he hasn't seen that version of an Indian Deathlock in years, as Triple H does all he can to injure Van Dam's legs. Van Dam starts to stretch forward and punch Triple H to get out, but The Game pokes him in the eyes to stop him fighting back. RVD won't be denied, and in a moment of desperation, headbutts the champion to break free. Triple H misses all of his clothesline attempts, and he gets dropped with a roundhouse from the challenger. RVD, feeling it, goes for a little bit of Rolling Thunder, but amazingly, Triple H gets up and catches him, dropping Van Dam across his knee with a backbreaker, holding onto him and tossing him away with a fall away slam. RVD rolls to the outside for some reprieve, but as he does, Ric Flair is there to poke him in the eye while Triple H distracts the referee. Van Dam takes exception, and punches Flair in the face. The challenger gets back in the ring, avoids Triple H, and then flies off of the ropes with a springboard crossbody, and then successfully hitting Rolling Thunder. RVD calls to the fans that he wants to finish hit and hit the 5 Star Frog Splash. The challenger goes to the top rope, but Ric Flair climbs up on the apron and strikes him with a chair to end the match by disqualification. RVD def. Triple H via disqualification (however, Triple H remains the World Heavyweight Champion)The onslaught continues post match, with Triple H and Ric Flair stomping on the challenger, but they're stopped in their tracks when fire suddenly explodes out of the ring post. Both Flair and Triple H scatter out of the ring, as a message on the Titantron reads..
Another split screen is shown. This time, Chris Benoit and Brock Lesnar are making their seperate ways to the curtain for one of the biggest matches of their respective careers.
Lillian Garcia is cut off by Paul Heyman. King Of The Ring 2002 Final Brock Lesnar vs Chris BenoitBenoit begins with the only strategy he can logically employ; go after the machine with everything you've got and try and make a dent. Benoit ducks Brock's clothesline attempt and hits a German Suplex, clearly giving Lesnar a shock and causing him to roll out of the ring to regroup. After a pep talk with Paul Heyman, Lesnar is back in the ring, but this time, he misses a big boot and gets caught in another German Suplex. Benoit rolls back through and locks in a sleeper in a bid to wear Lesnar down, but the veritable David to Benoit's Goliath breaks free by crushing Benoit in the corner. As Chris stumbles forward, Lesnar is there to rock him with a clothesline. Brock starts to employ some amateur wrestling tactics, grabbing Benoit in a waistlock and refusing to let him go anywhere. Eventually, Benoit's strength prevailed and he managed to break free, before swiftly kicking Lesnar in the gut, folding him in half, then following that up with a basement dropkick, and finally taking Lesnar down with a sliding lariat. Chris doesn't go for a cover, instead going back to the sleeper hold, wrapping his arms around Brock's giant neck and head to try and knock him out. Lesnar again breaks free, and gives Benoit a belly to belly for his troubles. Favouring his back, Chris gets back up, and tells Lesnar to bring it. Brock hits repeated forearm shots, forcing Benoit back into the corner, but Chris, seemingly running on adrenaline, grabs Lesnar and throws him into the turnbuckles himself. Chops, punches, and headbutts were all thrown Lesnar's way, and he falls down to his knees. Benoit goes to the sleeper hold for a third time, and on this attempt, Lesnar starts to fade. He falls down onto his hands and knees, but before he passes out, Benoit jumps forward and locks in the Crippler Crossface. Lesnar tries to use all of his strength to make it to the ropes, but Benoit hangs on and pulls with all he has in a bid to make Lesnar tap. Brock does eventually make it to the ropes and get a breather, or so he thinks, as Benoit comes crashing on top of him with a diving headbutt. Chris hooks the leg, but Lesnar is able to kick out. Frustrated, Benoit is trying to plot his next move, and pulls out a move that he rarely ever uses these days; a piledriver, dropping Lesnar's near 300lb frame on top of his head. With Lesnar down, Benoit, now clearly fatigued after the colossal amount of effort he's had to put in to even get Lesnar in this state, slowly makes his way over to the corner and climbs up again. He jumps up for a diving headbutt, but Brock is suddenly back up, and in an incredible counter, catches Benoit on his shoulders and hits the F5. Benoit is down and out. Lesnar makes the pin. It's academic from this point on. Brock Lesnar makes the cover, and he is your 2002 King Of The Ring, possibly crushing Chris Benoit's body, spirit, and dreams in the process. Brock Lesnar def. Chris Benoit to become the 2002 King Of The Ring.
Benoit is visibly dejected on the outside, even crying, disappointed that he came up short again. Lesnar leaves up the ramp to sit on his throne, as Heyman says that he knows the Undertaker is watching, and that he should know that come Summerslam, Brock Lesnar is coming for his ass.
A video package plays, showing how the feud between Edge and WWE Champion The Undertaker has escalated in recent weeks, and how it all leads to tonight.
Arguably the most popular young man on the entire roster, be it Raw or Smackdown, Edge, knows full well what opportunity lies before him tonight. Things have gotten extremely heated between him and The Undertaker in recent weeks, and he looks to prove that he has what it takes at his young age to hang with a superstar of The Deadman's pedigree and caliber.
The Deadman. The Big Dog. The Reaper. The American Badass. Whatever you want to call him, the familiar sound of a Titan motorcycle's engine roaring at the top of the ramp can only mean one thing; The Undertaker is here to defend what he believes to be "his yard". Since the year began, Undertaker has defeated Stone Cold at Wrestlemania, and The Rock at both Backlash and Judgment Day, and we haven't seen The Rock since. Edge hopes to be the one to finally knock him off of his throne as the top dog, but if Undertaker has anything to do with it, that will be no easy feat. WWE Championship Edge vs The Undertaker (c)Both men stare into each other's eyes as the referee begins the match. Edge, standing at 6'4, and no small man himself, is almost dwarfed by the 7'0 American Badass. The camera picks up Undertaker saying "you made a big mistake, boy", but Edge shows no fear. The bell rings, and the two men exchange shots, going at it tooth and nail, giving each other rights and lefts with everything they have. Undertaker, the striker, gets the better of the exchange, getting Edge into the corner and throwing rapid fire jabs to the midsection. 'Taker backs away, but all he does is allow Edge to dive forward and take him down. Edge, now the aggressor, rains down rights and lefts on to The Undertaker, as both men roll around the mat, punching each other non stop. The action spills to the outside, with both men still striking each other, until Undertaker throws Edge back first into the steel steps. The Deadman steps back and tries to drive his knee into the skull of the challenger, but Edge is able to move and Undertaker is sent crashing into the steps knees-first, flying over the top of them in the process. Edge stomps down on the knee of The Deadman, doing as much damage to the leg as he can, then lifting "The American Badass" up in the air and dropping him shin-first across the security wall with a shinbreaker. Edge holds on, displaying impressive strength, and moves Undertaker over to the apron, going for a back suplex, but Undertaker breaks free this time and pushes Edge head first into the steel ring post. After regaining his breath, 'Taker picks Edge up and drives him spine first into the ring post, and then following that up by throwing Edge over the announce table. As Edge slowly gets back to a vertical base behind the announce table, The Undertaker recuperates, leaning on the ring apron. He gets cut off however, when Edge comes jumping off of the announce table and crashing onto The Deadman with a flying clothesline and more punches. Edge grabs the WWE Championship belt, waits for Undertaker to get back up, and blasts him right in the head with it. Michael Cole, surprised at Edge's actions, says "I have never seen Edge at this level of intensity before, Tazz. If it wasn't obvious enough prior to this match, Edge will do whatever it takes to become the WWE Champion." A now bloody Deadman slowly uses the ring apron to assist him in rising to his feet, but Edge is right there to continue to bring the fight to The Undertaker. Edge hits forearms, staining his white wrist tape a deep red colour. Undertaker stumbles backwards into the ring post, using it to keep himself propped up. Edge steps backwards and makes a run for the Champion, but Taker raises his leg and Edge catches a boot right to the face. Undertaker, recovered, is ready to bring a world of hurt Edge's way. Grabbing a steel chair, the Champion starts teeing off on Edge, smacking him in the spine with steel chair shots, making a sickening thud every time, with each shot seemingly being even louder. Edge crawls away, using the barricade to climb back up, but he doesn't get any chance to breathe, literally, as The Undertaker drives the chair into his gut. Edge folds over, 'Taker lifts him up, and throws him back into the ring through the bottom rope. Undertaker grabs some "toys" from under the ring, including a steel chair, a kendo stick, a trash can, a pipe, and a table. Edge is immediately on the tail end of the kendo stick, getting lashed across the back and gut like a dishonorable soldier. Undertaker then uses the cane to choke Edge on the mat, and the referee can do nothing about it, as its perfectly legal in a no holds barred match. Undertaker, in a sick, twisted innovation of sorts, takes the trash can, places it over Edge's head, and then begins to violently beat him with the kendo stick even more, dropping Edge to the mat, yet continuing the onslaught. The back of Edge now as red as The Undertaker's face, "The American Badass" goes back to what brought him to the dance, pure power. Edge gets hit with clotheslines, knee lifts, big boots, body slams, Old School and more as Undertaker begins to take full control. Edge's already weak back is thrown onto the trash can, crushing it and possibly his own spine as a result. By this point in the match, about 16 minutes in, Edge has taken a severe beating. He's been lashed, thrown, punched, kicked, slammed and more. Most other men would have fallen and given up by this point, but Edge is no normal man; Edge is a tough son of a bitch who's out to prove exactly why. Undertaker lifts Edge up by his hair and starts to toy with his challenger, slapping him around the face repeatedly, but to the surprise of almost everyone, Edge doesn't just ask him, but begs The Undertaker for more. The Canadian superstars shouts "Is that all you got? Come on, let's see how tough you really are, you stupid bastard!". This threw petrol on an already burning fire inside The Undertaker, who slaps Edge even harder, but those slaps seem to be having the same effect on Edge, who gets back up and calls for even more. He takes every last shot, and then proceeds to give The Undertaker everything he has left. Rights and lefts, high knees, shoulder blocks, DDTs, suplexes, steel chairs and more were thrown Undertaker's way at the hands of the gutsy challenger. "I don't care what anyone says, Cole, Edge is showing the world exactly what he's made of here tonight", says Tazz. Undertaker, on the apron, barely hanging on, manages to get back in the ring and avoid a chair shot from Edge, grabbing him by the throat instead and dropping Edge with a chokeslam on a different chair. Undertaker goes for the pin, but shockingly, Edge kicks out. "What is it going to take to keep this kid down?!", shouts Michael Cole. The bloody Deadman gets up and throws Edge into the corner. He steps back and looks to be trying for a running elbow, but he can't hit it, and Edge runs at him, driving the Champion through a table set up in the corner with a spear! Edge moves as quickly as he physically can with his injured back, dragging Taker away and going for the cover, but The Undertaker barely kicks out at 2.9. Edge, with a look of disbelief on his face, gets back up and calls for the spear again. Over in the corner, Undertaker looks to be removing his glove and taking something out of his tights. He gets back up to his feet, and Edge runs for him, but he gets absolutely decked with a right hand from 'Taker, who is clearly wearing brass knuckles. Edge, knocked out, is left for the Undertaker to pick his bones. Taker hits a Tombstone Piledriver, but determined to put Edge away for good, gets right back up and hits another for good measure. The cover is made, and The Undertaker retains in one hell of a war. The Undertaker def. Edge to retain the WWE Championship
'Taker, bloody forehead and all, grabs his title and drives away on his motorcycle, leaving Edge's broken body behind.

Victoria being new Women's Championship Shocked me to be honest, lets see if she'll be a good champion ! i expected Benoit vs Lesnar in the finals, and that's also what i wanted actually, will be a great match Jamie, Jericho and Un-Americans retaining their belts is no big shock here, but these were great matches I'm shocked Austin lost in 3 minutes to Bischoff, kinda burying Austin, haha (not even Interference makes it believable) Angle vs Guerrero is absolute classic, i don't even care who'd win ! glad to see Heel Triple H still being a champion, and Rob Van Dam looking strong, good way to end the match, and i think that's Kane, so Kane and RVD will fight Evolution (hopefully they form at one point in this) Lesnar winning KOTR is no big shock here, so is Taker retaining the belt, i see Lesnar vs Taker at Summer Slam, but these were 2 great matches overall, an amazing Show, can't wait for Summerslam
