I love Voltron. I've had the Mattel 23 inch with pilots but recently I purchased miracle Vehicle Voltron and Madtoys Golion. I felt that was better than the 30th anniversary one, and I have no regrets. My dream is to get a kick a$$ 6 inch line with pilots. Anyone wanna chime in?

You have the Madtoys version? That looks awesome. I was thinking about buying one. Where did you buy from? I was thinking about a store called toyercity ( link). They have it for $230 + shipping. Ebay has a couple for $290-300. I don't know where else to buy from. People are really secretive about talking about it on message boards. Here's what I have: An older toynami plastic version. The small Mattel version from Matty collector. A 6"-8" Diecast from the 1980's when it first started airing in the US. That one stays permanently as Voltron. The green and yellow lion. Those are mostly die-cast. I think they were made by Popy toys or maybe Matchbox. Some pilots from 1984.

I bought one from ebay at 290. 230 is even better.the only prob i had was a broken piece on yellow lion and blue lion ear. Crazy glue did the trick though. It is amazing. My biggest wants are apollyon and mazinger z 40th anniversary

I read some good things about the vehicle version. The $230 price doesn't include shipping, that will probably add about $30. I preordered Apollyon on the first day Big _ad Toy Store listed him. I hope it gets here soon.

This is bumping a long dead thread, but no point in starting a new one that won't get a lot of traffic anyways. I got the 16" combining Voltron from TRU. All five lions together cost about $105. Almost $20 cheaper than my Amazon preorder that wasn't supposed to ship until Jan 2. The black lion had a no sell date in TRU's computer until Jan 1, but the supervisor let me buy it. Seems odd that only the black lion would have a street date.

I saw Voltron toys at my TRU last week. They had single lions and then a smaller scale complete Voltron robot.

I just came back from my local TRU and they didn't have any of the Voltron Legendary Lions. I started collecting the Power Rangers Legacy Zords, so now I want other Mecas. I think I'm gonna pre-order the Voltron Lions thru Amazon. I don't think I'll find them in the stores before Jan 2, 2017

How do these scale next to the Power Rangers Legacy Zords?

Saw the smaller lions today but non of the ones that combine. Cant wait to find those.
I'd also kill for the matty collector ones... I keep eyeballing them on ebay.

I forgot to mention that I can not, for the life of me, remove the arms. The legs at least have a release button and slide off easily.
Playmates even released a video

I just started buying the basics. Halfway there, needing red, green, yellow and sword Voltron. Will buy every figure as I am a huge Voltron fan. Basics are rather generic but they will suffice. I'll buy a set for the shelves and a set for my girls to play with. Interesting to see if the pilots will be revealed at nytf17. Or what will be in a potential series 2.
My my question to all of you. Would anyone like to see a third party release of transforming Voltron Force. Pilots are a NO for me. However, I've always wanted those prototypes that were shown in 2011 with the Matty stuff.

Im still on the fence about buying the Deluxe Lions, I have some of the Power Ranger's Legacy line, anyone have pics comparing the Zords to the Lions, or Voltron vs any Megazord?
I had it preorded from Amazon but cancelled it 2 days ago, it's more expensive without adding shipping than if I just wait til I see it in the store.

It's a crappy picture, but it gives you an idea on scale. On the left is Legendary Voltron (16", the one with combining lions), middle is Legacy Megazord, on the right is Ultimate Voltron (14", does not combine or separate into lions). I just got Ultimate yesterday from Target ($40). It's a great choice and has several advantages if you don't care about combining. It's closer to the animation and has a sleeker look. The combiner Voltron has bigger and longer forearms because the legs need to hide in the compartment. The Ultimate has better arm and head articulation. I kind of prefer the Ultimate and I'll keep the Legendary Lions separated.

Oh WOW! both the Voltrons tower over the Megazord. I though the combining one was going to be smaller. I honestly might just buy the smaller one because it's got better articulation.
Wow I can't get over how tall they both are....
Does anyone know of any robot figures that are closer in scale with the Megazords?

Youtube video from Hong Kong toy show with a display of the five pilots (mid 2017), full size lions for the pilots (fall 2017), and a die-cast combining 9" Voltron (fall 2017).

I saw them today at Target near the "classic toy end cap" with Raggedy Ann & Stretch Armstrong. I had no idea they were releasing these again. Pretty cool!

Not sure if anyone watched Pixel Dan's video but apparently the Lions with the Paladins don't connect. I passed on the most recent releases because I assumed they would be releasing piloted Lions but I do think it's a damn shame they don't connect.
On a positive note, the Lions with the Paladins are apparently huge. So that's awesome that they're like a full size vehicle with a figure. They also said in the video that the Paladins themselves don't have removable helmets like the single figure releases. SO, I think it's safe to say I'll buy all of the individual figures, and then the Lion w/ Paladin sets. You got me Playmates. Well played.

I have really been thinking about collecting the old figures but I find besides Voltron himself (itself?) I don't really love the stuff loose as much as MOC.
The Coffin of Doom is wicked cool but ten times better either with the box near it or still in it.
