Flair was a complete gentleman...of course. Just like the stories, when in public, he is the life of the party. Compliments for the ladies, and amazing stories.
Met Bret a couple of times. Just like the stories...aloof and stand off-ish. Caused a bit of a stink to ensure his booth was not anywhere near Jim Neidharts...not that I blame Bret for that one, but he came across like a spoiled brat...was the same at the Vancouver Chapters when he didnt like the refreshments that were out for the book signing. Uncool with the halpless workers there, but was really friendly when the event manager came out.
Met a bunch of WWF guys in a strip joint here back in 97/98. Owen...he was great, of course....while Jim Ross was as surley and gruff as you'd imagine. Ken Shamrock was FREAKING out at one of the girls in the strip joint...screaming like a madman...really uncomfortable. Brian Pillman was the best. Sat with us for the night, posed for pics, and was a real laugh.

A few years back, I remember Hulk Hogan was charging $130 per autograph and an extra $20 for a picture at a local convention.

The first wrestler I met was Goldberg when I was about 19 back in 2000. He was nice, signed an action figure and took a photo with us, no charge. But not really social.
Jericho was pretty cool when i met him a couple of years ago. I asked him what's up with nobody using the German Suplex anymore and he agreed and mention the bad-ass Tiger Suplex. (This was before we lived in the happening location known as Suplex City, B*^%$)
RVD was pretty chill. I recognized him looking at comics. He was stoned. So was I. I bet we looked ridiculous.
I met Victoria a couple of times and she's the best — Always chatty, Always ready for a photo, and all smiles. I love her!!!
A big surprise for me was Lita. For some bonehead reason, i thought she was not going to be social and was just there to sign her band's CDs and get the F out, so when I approached her, I pretty much had the same attitude (Hey your band is cool, can I get my CD signed? Thanks). But instead, she tried talking to me about wrestling and punk rock, she talked to my girlfriend... but my stupid brain was not opperating the way it should have and I pretty much blew her off. Huuuuuge regret!!! Lita was a sweetheart!
Least favorable people to meet: John Morrison and Melina. They pretty much didn't say s*%+...
Lastly, I don't care how crazy he is, I would love to meat Big Poppa Pump, Scott Steiner!

I was fairly certain he was going to be a jerk.... & I didn't know how much he was charging, I had a certain amount of cash left in my wallet & I wasn't sure I'd have enough for his price.... I went up to him, asked him "how much?", the price was actually reasonable ($15 or something).... I was counting my money trying to figure out if I had the right amount, totally ignoring him as he was telling me a story about a flight he'd just had along with Greg "The Hammer" Valentine...... I didn't even hear the story, I just handed him the money & got my photo with him.... no wonder he probably thinks the fans are ignorant. Not sure what was wrong with my brain that night, I probably could have had a nice chat with a legend, but I just blew it.... oh well.

I forgot to mention how nice Goldberg is. Legitimately seemed to enjoy talking and interacting with fans, and really cared about how you wanted your items signed and took his time. A real classy guy.
I met Lita at Axxess this year. In all honestly she seemed pretty irritated to be there. Kept texting while fans were talking to her and made sure not to touch anybody while having photos taken. I always thought she'd be one of the coolest people to meet.

Met James Storm, Crimson, and a local talent Derrick King at a bar last year. I've worked on shows with Derrick before, so I knew what a nice guy he was. Storm and Crimson were great, very friendly. I even bought them beers and talked for a few minutes.

Also went to a TNA meet and greet last year. Met the following
Chris Sabin: Awesome guy. Very talkative and seemed to be having a great time.
Magnus: Quiet. Seemed annoyed.
Jesse Godderz: Super cool, seemed laid back.
Gail Kim: Really nice.
Gunner: Nicest guy next to Sabin. Also seemed super happy to be there.
I also met John Morrison and Joey Mercury in 2005 at a Burger King after a supershow. Really awesome dudes.
Met Jerry Lawler around 07 or 08. Wasn't very talkative, but wasn't rude.

I'm meeting several wrestlers during the next several weeks: 4/11: Paul London 4/18: Brian Meyers/Curt Hawkins 4/25: The Faces of Fear (Meng & The Barbarian) 4/26: Terry Funk 5/2: Sunny 5/9: Rikishi Plus, I'll be going to Legends of the Ring on 6/6. I'll post how my experience went with the above wrestlers in this thread but, in the meantime, has anyone met any of the above wrestlers. I'm particularly interested in any Meng/Haku stories because, well, he's pretty freaking scary. Are you going to Chiller? I might see you there on the 26th. Terry Funk is a class act. See if you can get him to sing the song about "Lucy having a body part like a Javalina hog". I asked him to, but said he couldn't because there were kids around.

I actually was going to Chiller but I was saddled with a shift for work at the last minute. Thank goodness I didn't purchase GA tickets or pre-order the Funk/Roberts tickets from RF Video. However, Terry is signing that Sunday at an amazing wrestling memorabilia store not too far from me so I'm going to stop by after work. The Faces of Fear are signing in the same store the day before Terry. Are you going to LOTR? Ever been there? I'm really interested in reading about the set-up there (I read CM Showstopper's post about it and it was helpful but I'm looking to ready any and all experiences).

Honkytonk has an ebay account where he sells general merchandise like photos, shoot dvds, mini guitars you'd find at a dollar general and he signs them. The prices are very reasonable and when I made an order, a few years ago, he signed most items twice (silver sharpie on black background, black sharpie on light background), included signed COAs and signed all my trading cards I sent. He doesn't have the best reputation but it may come down to preconceived notions fans have, given his biting shoot interviews and perhaps us fans not being able to appreciate the appearance as opposed to thinking about getting our items signed or our photo ops. I've been guilty of it a number of times and know I missed out an some great memories getting to meet wrestlers over the years.

My brother and I have met Bo Dallas twice and he has been super cool both times.
Seems to really be interested in talking with fans and taking pictures and signing whatever you have.

When I was at The Big Event, I was sort of taken aback at how many people were there just to get merchandise signed so they can sell it for an insane price on Ebay. I overheard a lot of fans that really didn't care about meeting the talent, they simply wanted their merchandise signed and I think the talent can tell the difference between fans who are genuinely happy to be there and fans who are solely there for profit.

Just met Paul London and he's one of the nicest wrestlers I've ever met. Right up there with Hacksaw.
He saw me and said, "woah, what's up, big guy!!!" and proceeded to clasp my forearm. He thanked me for coming down and signed both of his entires in the encyclopedia. We then started conversing about my job and he said, "what dude!!! That's so awesome, I wish I had our job!!'l
Just seemed genuinely happy to be there. Unforgettable experience.

In early 1991 my dad took me, i was 13, and his 2 young step-sons to a local house show. Afterwards he took us to Denny's to eat. There was a long table, like when they push 3 tables together to make one long one. At the head of the table was Warlord, to his left was Davey Boy (they just fought each other earlier that night), and to his right was 2 other normal looking guys, maybe ring crew or referee or somebody. And at the end, Shane Douglas. The long table was LOADED with food, like they ordered 1 of everything on the menu, and from what I could tell, only Warlord and Davey were eating.
My dad tells me to get autographs, so when I go up and ask, Davey doesn't look up, and Warlord said something like "Not while we're eating, wait till we're done". So we eat and wait, and wait, and wait. Finally we have to leave so I ask again and they quickly signed a piece of paper but seemed like they didn't want to. I always thought they were upset because we caught them breaking kayfabe. I wouldn't say they were rude, but acted like they just didn't want to be bothered at all.
The plus side is, while we were waiting, Boss Man came in for a few minutes to tell them something. We stopped him on his way out and he couldn't have been nicer.
I met Piper when he did a book signing in 2002. He might be the legit nicest guy on the planet.

Most of them will not respond kindly lol.

[^ dynamite kid gets what he deserved today... The Kid deserves to be in a wheelchair, never to walk again, and in constant pain? Is that your opinion from knowing him personally?

I've heard HORROR STORIES about Brodus Clay. he was terrible ( see my son's picture with him on the previous page). wouldn't talk to anyone, or even look up for most pictures. you could genuinely tell he didn't want to be there. he was also at this place in Allentown, PA. that weekend called Budd Carson's I think. people were posting pics of him from there doing the same thing, looking miserable or not even looking at the camera. you don't want to talk to me or whatever? fine. but my kid was really looking forward to meeting him, loved his character in the WWE, and the experience completely ruined his night.if you can't be decent to an adult fan, at least be decent to a kid! I don't see the picture on the previous page

Stone Cold Steve Austin - actually not really that nice. signed out autograph's,but didn't respond when we told him how much we loved watching him and appreciated him taking the time to sign. Bruce Pritchard - not really sure, was massively drunk.watched him steal a 6-pack from the hotel bar, but so drunk he didn't seem to realize when he reached over the bar while the bartenders back was turned that he took one of those 6-pack carriers full of empty bottles. Jerry "The King" Lawler - minor chit-chat, signed autograph's. kinda seemed like he had something on his mind, so he gets a pass. Jim Ross - quiet, but nice. Michael Cole - slightly dickish. was really only interested in the women who came up to him. Vince McMahon - seriously, the NICEST guy I've met so far! was engaging, thanked everyone for coming to the show and supporting the WWF, took pictures with anyone who wanted to, was incredulous a bit that we knew who Arnold Skaaland was, and even bought us ( and everyone else in the hotel bar) a round of drinks!! Grandmaster Sexay / Brian Christopher - SUPER nice, took the time to talk with everyone who wanted to meet him. Scotty 2 Hotty - nice in person, but then I found out he asked the the on-camera Commissioner of the local independent promotion PPW ( who is a friend of my close group of friends) to send him $200 for airfare so he could fly in for a recent show, with the promise of giving it back to him when he got his payoff that night. not only did he NOT pay the money back, andbolted from the gym as soon as he got his money, but also hitched a ride with a couple other wrestlers who live near him, so Scotty never used the money for airfare! Matt Morgan - was nice to the kids, but seemed disinterested and kinda sad he was wrestling for a local independent. Brodus Clay - TOTAL dick! wouldn't talk or interact with anyone, and wouldn't even bother looking up for a picture! could definitely tell he didn't want to be there. He looks like he's tired there
