I was one of the lucky few whose pre-order for the original Real Scale Ring was selected at random by Ringside Collectibles to receive earlier than scheduled. That took place roughly 10 years ago this week. To commemorate the occasion, I thought I would share all of the photos that I took of my brand new Jakks ring on that day. Luckily, I never ONCE had an issue with the turnbuckles caving in. Only in recent years have I noticed the ring ropes sagging more than usual (in particular, the middle white rope) when I decide to set it up. I consider myself very fortunate to have avoided many of the issues that plagued others with the initial launch of the RSR. I used to run my own WWE figure fed in the mid-2000s, and I distinctly remember using this ring for the very first time at my version of WrestleMania 21 on April 17th, 2005. In the main event, Shawn Michaels became my second-ever World Heavyweight Champion when he defeated Triple H in an instant classic. Elsewhere, The Rock retired Stone Cold Steve Austin in a two-out-of-three-falls match, and I inducted all of CS Series 5 (which I received for Easter that year), as well as CS Series 3 Ultimate Warrior, into my version of the Hall of Fame. The Real Scale Ring V1 was my ring of choice for many years while I still played, and to this day I consider it the best ring that I've ever owned. So, without further ado, take a trip back in time to April 2005 when my 16-year-old self couldn't have been happier with the ring of my dreams.

Wow, awesome post! I do remember the cage WrestleMania 2 ring. I bought that when it came out, and absolutely LOVED the thing until I stopped collecting and trashed it in 2010. I really do love the RSR rings, they were awesome things. MITB, HIAC, Elimination Chamber etc. They were awesome!

Oh man... I distinctly remember your Austin pics back in the day because I used them as height reference when I built my own ring. I never did see RSRs at my TRU until they started making those crazy $100 real scale playsets.
Didn't know you had to stuff your own turnbuckle pads.
WM21 was my first Mania after I started collecting again. I don't remember my card for the life of me except for an interpromotional Ultimate X match with the ToyBiz TNA figures.
Hehe, what would be today's equivalent to a Val Venis exclusive?

That was ring was ok, but I believe that was the one that had the flaw where the posts would cave in? I didn't get a scale ring until the version 2 that came with the blue cage and I never had any issues with the ring posts.

Great info on the RSR pre order thanks for sharing ! I love stuff like this as I know little of the past but the WM2 steel cage ring is the one thing that made me a Hardcore collector a few years as it tied everything together for me and even the box was cool ! No other hobby and I had a few ever gave me so much enjoyment than Jakks CS but its nothing without that ring Brother !

Awesome. Seeing stuff like that (good quality pictures) makes me feel like I owned that as well. Weird to describe.
I have the Elimination Chamber RSR, and it is my favorite ring ever. I even made hordes of custom skirts to go along with it. Great fun was had in that ring.

Wow. Great post. Brings back memories. I purchased the first ring and it caved it which was frustrating. I also purchased the second Wrestlemania edition with cage which I still have sealed in the box.

I miss mine, had issues with the post. I was honestly surprised Jakks offered replacements. However, once those were installed along with the padded mat it was great. Also I do not miss stuffing the turnbuckle pads.

I remember being so happy when I got my scale ring. And then being so upset when I saw the better version with the cage came out. If only I had waited.

Great read and great pics, love a bit of childhood nostalgia. I love the idea of inducting a set of classic series figures into the Hall Of Fame!
Hard to believe 2005 was 10 years ago. I had just turned 13 at that point. I never bothered with the RSR as it looked like a pain in the arse to set up, probably would've taken up too much space in my room and I preferred having a modern day ring.

I have never had a WWE RSR, however I do have the Rocky RSR and I absolutely love it!
I sort of remember my fig feds WM 21. I know Christian won the Rumble that year, and him vs Undertaker was one of the main events. That and Taker/Angle it think.
