There are times when I tell the employee, FILL my cup to the top with Ice, and I get very little ice in there. I just wish they would all have the fountain drinks in the lobby for the customers to serve our own drinks. Some fast food restaurants here in New York City the system you mentioned. I hate when these fast food joints overdo it with the ice. I like lots of ice for two reasons. I want my drink as cold as possible. And two, I think im drinking less sugar when I get lots of ice.

In part it's not wanting as much sugar, but a big part of that also is I want the Ice. It can get pretty hot in my truck so I take small sips of ice cold soda until im done with the soda and then I pour water in that same cup so I can have cold water.

What stinks is that if I were to stop and get a drink every time I was thirsty I'd lose so much time so I can't. I have to bring things with me. I usually have a small bag I fill with drinks, snacks, and other essentials.

I got McDonalds yesterday. The girl handed me my drink and as she's holding it I could see it was only filled half way. So I didn't grab the cup as she handed it to me. I looked at her and said, "fill it up". She got this confused look and called the manager over. I thought, wow..... are you really that dumb that you need a manager to help you fill a cup of soda. I'll tell you something, I hope these people do not get 15 dollars an hour. Maybe once they have some time in and can do the job, but not as a minimum wage. She didn't call her manager over "because she needed help". She called the manager over because you were likely being rude and demanding. She's making minimum wage, which isn't enough to deal with your demanding nonsense. And most McDonalds have completely automated drink machines in the drive thrus these days. It drops the cup, it adds the ice, it fills it up.. The employee puts a lid on it and hands it out.

It drops the cup, it adds the ice, it fills it up.. The employee puts a lid on it and hands it out. Why would you assume I was being rude and demanding? I was demanding, I demanded to get what I paid for, a full cup of Coke Cola. As soon as she tried to hand the cup to me I could see it wasnt full so I didnt grab the cup. I just looked at her and said fill that cup all the way. Then when they gave my my drink I pulled out of the drive thru, looked in my bag, and saw I was shorted. I pulled around and had to walk in the restaurant. I have seen those Automated drink machines. I do know that the particular drive thru I went to has one of those. So either the machine was off, or it was human error, or both. Your argument that minimum wage isnt enough to deal with "demanding nonsense" is wrong. Again, im paying their salary, how is it demanding to want to receive what you paid for? If Minimum wage is too little for that person then they shouldnt work there. Any job will tell you upfront what is expected of you, and how you will be compensated. If putting a cup in a machine, then putting a lid on that cup, then handing that cup to a human being is too tough don't take the job. Or if you feel the pay is too little, don't take the job. I've had jobs where I felt the pay was horrible. BUT I punched in because I wanted the money. I did the work and collected my paycheck. It's called being professional. As I said, I didnt like how I was being compensated so I looked for other opportunities but I never took a paycheck that I didnt earn. Anyone who feels they shouldn't work to the level that is expected of them simply because they feel they are underpaid, will always fight an uphill battle when trying to advance in the work place. That's just such a negative attitude to have. I've always followed the simple rule that If you're going to do something, do it the right way, or don't do it at all. I assure you, if you work at McDonald's or any job, if you are professional, show up on time, and do your job you'll have little to no problems. You won't have a customer demanding his cup be filled to the top if you fill it properly the first time.

It's on a conveyor belt and once a drink is out from underneath the drink spout, it's as full as it's going to be. It's not made to be filled to the very top so that normal people don't spill their drink the second the touch it. You going to McDonalds is not "paying their salary". They're making the same per hour if a thousand people come through or if no one does. And as a newsflash, McDonalds is going to succeed regardless of your opinion.

I ask for my soda with no ice and they always put ice in it anyways. That has become one of my biggest pet peeves in life. Why it's it so hard to not put ice in a soda???

I'm not sure what drink machines they have where you are but I've never seen them without a manual button. When I used to get soft drinks, the machine would always fill it up about half an inch from the top then the employee would push the button a couple more times so that the drink was as close to the top as possible then put the lid on.

Its Friday so I clean the fridge out for dinner. Whatever I had as left overs this week gets eaten. Tonight was little bit of spaghetti, chicken flavored noodles and Orange chicken Separately: yum. Combined? My tummy hurts. Luckily whatever I eat for dinner Ill take for lunch the next day. So whats left over after that is small portions. So Ill eat spaghetti at like 6 when I get off work but its probably less then a can of soup, so then an hour or so later Ill eat the chicken noodles which is less then a handful and then a couple hours later Ill eat the Orange chicken which is only like 4-5 "nuggets". It sounds like a lot until you realize the portion sizes haha. Im usually done eating by 8-9pm but my 8am, Im starving again lol
