Ultimate Return
Chapter IV: Full Circle
By Gary "The Shadow" Laws
We open the show re-capping last weeks sudden twist of events. Portions of the Warrior/Hogan/McMahon confrontation is shown, primarily the conclusion. The narrator speaks of the Warrior's return, and the end of Hulkamania. He also speaks of the mystery man from the skies and as to what his involvement will be in all of this. He concludes with "But is this really the end of Hulk Hogan, stay tuned......................."
Two announcers are now on camera and begin to speak about the upcoming matches on tonight's program (unrelated), when someone has hacked into their TV monitors and a promo begins to air. It begins with the sound of lightning and a few brief flashes. The brief flashes show two figures in long black trenchcoates. One of them turns around towards the camera and reveals his white painted face. Telling by the face paint design, we all know this to be Sting. Then the other figure turns around and reveals his face to the camera. No visible descriptive features are clearly shown to give us a hint as to who the individual might be................other than that the man's face is also painted white with black borders...................In THE WARRIOR'S FACEPAINT!!!!!!!!!! End of promo
The announcer's are somewhat confused as to the meaning of the interruption. Meanwhile, the next segment begins to unfold. The match is between Kurt Angle and the Undertaker. After a typical battle between these two, there is a moment in the match when both men are down and a 10 count ensues. The count is up to 8, when the Undertaker sits up from the mat (old school style) and Angle starts to show signs of life and warily rolls over to a knee. Then..................the lights go out, strobe lights flash, lightning strikes are heard,...............(In the Mouth of Madness theme) music begins to play, and suddenly the mystery duo from the promo earlier begin running down the aisle towards the ring. The man in front is clearly Sting, while the other is.....................IT'S THE WARRIOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both men are in black trenchcoats, except that Sting is wearing his black scorpion outfit underneath, while the Warrior is wearing black trunks (with the outline of the Warrior signal on the back), black and white tassels on his arms, wrists, and boots, and his face is painted in his trademark paint scheme design (solid black, with white borders around the outer logo and around his eyes).
Clarification: Warrior Heel Turn?
The color change is only to show a more focused and darker Warrior, but he is still very much a face in this storyline. Basically, it sort of shows that he and Sting have once again reformed their once popular partnership, by portraying similar ring attire and colors. But, they are only somewhat similar................yet still completely different characters. In no way is it a knockoff of the NWO. The colors are the same, but that's where the similarities end................period.
Clarification: New theme music
The music I have in mind for Sting/Warrior is something new to the wrestling world. I felt that Sting/Warrior needed their own theme, but something that can best represent both of their styles and attitudes at the same time. The song is "In the Mouth of Madness", of John Carpenter fame. Yes, it's the title track to the horror movie soundtrack. It sort of has a Warrior'ish sound, yet it's darker and mysterious at the same time. If you haven't heard it before, definitely check it out. Keep Sting/Warrior in mind once you hear it and you'll see what I mean.
As the new theme pours out over the PA, Sting/Warrior are only seconds from the ring. Sting enters and immediately attacks Angle again (no bat this time), and Warrior goes into his shaking the ropes routine. As Sting/Angle collide, The Undertaker turns towards the Warrior and meets him face to face. Paul Bearer jumps up onto the mat and starts screaming at Warrior for interfering in the match, costing The Undertaker the Victory. The Undertaker shows no emotion and doesn't speak, but the fans can tell that he's pissed.
Meanwhile, Kurt delivers a cheap shot to the groin of Sting and Sting falls to a knee. Warrior notices this and makes a break towards Angle. The Undertaker however has other plans for the Warrior and grabs him (straight armed) and holds him in a choke hold. Taker' then lifts the Warrior and choke slams him into the mat. Warrior is down. Taker then looks to Angle and does the same, while Sting slowly rises again to his feet. Sting, (seeing this) advances towards the Undertaker and is about to confront him when Vince McMahon's music begins playing. The action in the ring comes to a surprising halt.
Vince appears from the back (the music halts) and immediately speaks towards those in the ring.
(Vince) Your finished Warrior!!!!!!!!!!!!! You hear me? You and your mystery partner are finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He then speaks to the Undertaker directly.
(Vince) Undertaker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!................finish them........bury them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kurt looks shocked, surely he can't mean him as well? Kurt looks at McMahon and motions him to the effect of "what...........me..............."
Vince slowly nods, raises his head and devilishly grins.
(Vince) That's right Undertaker...............all....of them.
The Undertaker looks at McMahon (no emotion given), looks at Paul Bearer (who is moving around the ring frantically), and then..........................turns away from the others and lowers his head under the top rope as if to exit the ring. Vince is shocked............He then speaks.
Need I remind you that you work for me Undertaker............ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I gave you an order and I expect you to obey it!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Undertaker looks to Paul Bearer, then the crowd, and then back to McMahon. Paul Bearer grabs a mice and speaks to Vince.
(Paul Bearer) My Undertaker doesn't answer to you Vince.....ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Nobody can control death, not even you..............ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
And with that, the Undertaker drops to the apron floor. The crowd cheers him on. The Warrior and Sting have now regrouped in the ring as stand by in idle, eyes fixated upon McMahon's. Meanwhile, Undertaker quickly walks back down the aisle towards Vince. Vince speaks:
(Vince) How dare you!!!!!!!!! Undertaker............Bearer..........YOUR FIRED!!!! You hear me?.............YOUR FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The words have no effect on the Undertaker, as he's only seconds away from reaching McMahon. Vince (seeing this) starts to back peddle a little and slowly walks backwards right into........................it's Linda McMahon? Vince is stunned to see her there and tells her to get back. Linda stands firm as Vince tries to pull her away. Suddenly, the Undertaker grabs Vince from behind holds him upright from the back of the neck. Vince is frantically trying to pull himself free, as Linda looks on..................refusing to help? Linda (mic in hand) speaks to Vince:
(Linda) It‘s time..........……....................You see Vince, you don't have the authority to fire the Undertaker, or anyone else for that matter. The people here are led to believe that you....... and you alone........are the only one who makes all the decisions around here. but I'm here to tell them that your wrong Vince. You are nothing but a shadow of the man I married. Your vision has become clouded and diluted, and this business has been corrupted and disgraced. We................(Shane and Stephanie walk out to join their mother) have decided as MAJORITY owners of this company to..............re-assess the situation. As of tonight, we.............together as one.........strip you of your power and control..........and institute a new era. A new era where heroes……….legends……….warrior's (a huge pop from the crowd ensues), and other great athletes can once again reclaim that which has been taken away.............the chance to become...........immortal.
Vince is shocked at hearing this from Linda (while still struggling)
A slight pause in her speaking passes before Linda speaks again:
(Linda) And as my first order of business..............I have decided to re-instate a new commissioner of the WWE...................and that man is.....................(Real American plays loudly once again, as the crowd erupts).............Hulk Hogan!!!!!
Out walks Hulk Hogan, as he salutes the fans.
The Hulkster comes out to huge cheers. He is not in his trademark costume, but rather a hilarious red and yellow colored suit and tie. The crowd laughs and cheers at the same time. Hulk stands tall and proud, taking it all in. As he approaches Linda, he begins to speak to Vince.
(Hogan) Let me tell you somethin'...........brother!!!!!!!!!
The Undertaker suddenly releases his hold of Vince and let's him go.
(Vince) yyyoooouu......tttuurrnnneddddd mmmmyy family against me??? ddoooo you know what you've done!!!!!!! (out of breath, exhausted)
(Hogan) I have done no such thing Vince. Your the one who betrayed your family and turned your back on them. Hulkamania was created by the fans, not by you. You heard their call, and you accepted the challenge. Well Vince..........the fans are calling once again.........can't you hear it?
Hogan lifts his hand to his ear (old school style)
The fans are really cheering now (a few Vince sucks chants are heard in the crowd)
(Vince) I will not allow you.......my family...........or ANYONE to take away what is rightfully mine. This isn't over....you hear me..........THIS ISN'T OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Hulkster starts to tear his shirt/suit apart...........
(Hogan) What cha goin' do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hogan then poses towards Vince as he cowardly runs to the back stage area. Kurt has also left the ring during the Hogan/Vince encounter and only Sting/Warrior are left in the ring. Both men's faces appear to somewhat concerned about what just transpired, as the camera fades to black.
And so…………………….a new era of the WWE begins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
