Okay, so time for another cheap plug of something I dig, while also giving us another discussion. This one will be less of a debate than the five greatest trios because it's not about the best. It's about the five current singles performers that you enjoy more than anyone else. There is no wrong answer. My list is right here. However, I'll copy and paste my picks too. 5. Sasha Banks – This may be a bit of a controversial pick. I don’t think anyone else is going to pick a female, but I couldn’t not pick Sasha Banks. I love NXT and she is my second favorite act there. When I went to see NXT live in Columbus and Cleveland, I wanted to see her more than anyone. She has her character down perfectly and all of 2014, I wanted her to get a chance to shine on a TakeOver special. She finally did at R-Evolution and delivered a fantastic match with Charlotte. Then, at Rival, she finally captured the belt in a phenomenal Fatal Four Way match that had me marking out. I’m a huge fan and supporter, and as long as she continues to be great, I’ll be sure to include on lists like these. 4. Seth Rollins – When I was big into the indies in the mid to late 2000’s, three guys stood out. El Generico, Bryan Danielson and Tyler Black. While Bryan is my favorite in the group, both Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins have been more enjoyable for me lately. Seth has been the most consistently good performer on the main roster in the past year and seeing him capture the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania was damn sure special and something I’ll never forget. He almost always has a good match and can be counted on to deliver each and every single time. 3. Shinsuke Nakamura – I’ll admit that I only recently got into NJPW. My first show was Wrestle Kingdom 9, which was great. One man stood out above all others though and that was the IWGP Intercontinental Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura. He stole the show with Kota Ibushi and had a classic. I’ve gone back and watched some of his other work and there is just something magnetic about him. You’re drawn to him and his charisma is off the charts. He’s the type of guy that you don’t even need to be able to understand to be captivated. Always a joy to watch and I cannot wait to see even more than I already have. 2. Brock Lesnar – In all of pro wrestling, there is nobody like Brock Lesnar. He is a legitimate beast and he wrestles so rarely that it is an instant attraction when he does. I think he should still be undefeated since his return in 2012, as there was no reason to lose to John Cena or Triple H, but still. He no longer uses that NCAA background that he has. Instead, he just dominates every single person in his path. It can be a glorious thing to watch. Hell, even his “SUPLEX CITY BITCH” remark at WrestleMania, sparked something. He is intense as hell and a very special thing to watch. We all need to realize how lucky we are that we get to see him. 1. Sami Zayn – There is literally nobody more fun for me to watch on a weekly basis than Sami Zayn. He is what a face should be. There is pretty much no way to possibly dislike him. Nearly every single time he performs, I’m glued to the TV. He has had a ton of classics in the past year, from the wars with Cesaro to his NXT Title matches against Adrian Neville, to the excellent storytelling of his bout with Kevin Owens. Sami Zayn is an incredible performer and probably my current favorite wrestler in the entire world. I’m glad he’s back to performing because I miss it. Who are your picks guys and gals? |

Bayley. She's energetic, talented, and attractive (not a determining factor between her and the men, nor should it be, I just have to note it because I find her beautiful. Sue me.). She has a real passion for wrestling and it shows through. Honorable mention? Basically all the women in NXT.
Kevin Owens. I admit that I know next to NOTHING about these guys and their indie matches. My pro wrestling viewing consists of WWE, TNA and Lucha Underground, currently. So him, Ambrose, Rollins, Zayn, Balor, Neville etc -- it means absolutely nothing to me, personally, that they were awesome before coming to WWE. I grade performers strictly on how they do within the confines of where they're working now. That said, I'm a huge fan of beast mode wrestlers. Guess I grew up a fan of Vince McMahon's work after all lol -- but KO comes out and destroys, and I enjoy it. Plus I always appreciate a dude more athletic than he looks like he should be.
Roman Reigns. I don't care what anyone says. The man comes out to the ring, does his job, and does it well. There are things I, like many people, would like to see differently about him, but that doesn't take away from him having a great look, a decent move set, and improving all the time.
Finn Balor. Talented, IT factor, the look, and dat entrance doe. If this dude isn't headlining wrestlemania one day, it will be an absolute travesty, and yes, that's over Reigns. Sorry buddy.
Brock Lesnar. Beast, that is all.
Honorable mentions:
Bray Wyatt -- probably pound for pound the most improved superstar in WWE over the last year. If I didn't include NXT guys on my list, he would have made it for sure.
Dean Ambrose -- I DESPISED dude for the longest time. Just thought he was bland, boring, and had no interest in him. Once he went out on his own, he's grown on me.
Seth Rollins -- Not huge on him, but dude is a good heel.
Kalisto -- Been a while since I've seen someone come on TV and make such an awesome impact both talent-wise and with the fans. He's making the most of his opportunity. Poor Mistico. This was supposed to be his spot.
Neville -- Dude's just fun to watch.

In No Order
Ziggler - Get passed the crappy jokes Creative makes for him each week, he's a hell of a competitor. Energetic, I absolutely love the way he sells Kofi's monkey flip. The Zig-Zag can be done in what seems like anyway you get two hands on an opponents shoulders, which adds the ability for a nice spot or reversal into the Zig Zag.
Sami Zayn - The Crowd gets behind this guy so much, give it time, "Olé" will the next "Yes!". He just seems so happy and determined to be in the ring.
Rollins - Has been since he won the NXT title, no matter what he does, he can land on his feet from it. Back when he use to enter in a moshpit-esque fashion, it was awesome. It's possible he can do it with his new song, so he needs to drop the serious act soon.
Evan Bourne/Matt Sydal - May be a surprising pick, but one thing Evan can do that few others can do, is sell like he does. A move can only be 9/10 at max without a proper sell, and Evan offers that in every move. He sells the Brogue Kick, RKO, even the Rough Rider great. I need to see him vs Neville or Cesaro in WWE to be content with life. (A bit of an over statement but oh well)
I know I said no order, but the top of the list has to be
Cody Rhodes - I was watching a lot of Money in the Bank matches, and the 2013 match, he ran that match, I'm a fan of Sandow, but damn Cody deserved that win. Even the 2011 match when he was Grotesque and Heel, they gave him a spot where he ruled the ring. He just shines in big matches, it's a shame he hasn't won the big one yet.

This is so incredibly hard to pick. I could list 25 wrestlers all of which I thought were remarkably good. Nevertheless, here is my Top 5:
5. Katsuyori Shibata - I love his in-ring MMA based offense so much. His realistic strikes and mannerisms are awesome. In the ring he constantly has great matches and has done so with the likes of Tomohiro Ishii and Hiroshi Tanahashi. He doesn't have a whole lot to use when it comes with charisma but he more than makes up for it in the ring. I really hope he has more success in New Japan this year and finally gets a singles title.
4. Brock Lesnar - I love his in-ring style, his aura, his association with Paul Heyman. Basically everything about Brock Lesnar is awesome. He is so intense in the ring and is the last true attraction in professional wrestling. His WWEWHC Championship reign was the most memorable one (besides CM Punk) in a long time. The Summerslam beat down of John Cena was one of the greatest moments in WWE history, that's from a John Cena fan too.
3. Sami Zayn - perhaps the best in-ring storyteller in the business today. He is certainly up there as one of the best in the ring. He has a certain aura about him which just makes him easily likeable and he's had some incredible matches in his career. He can take a beatdown and get you really invested in a match and in his corner. He's great in the ring and I'm super excited for him to be on the main roster.
2. Hideo Itami - Perhaps the best active wrestler today as a pure wrestling technician. His strikes and offense is awesome and he's had some incredible matches with guys like Danielson, Black, Marufuji etc. I think his transition to NXT hasn't been the smoothest but he's still the same guy with the incredible ability that I will know will shine once given opportunities on the main roster.
1. Tomohiro Ishii - As said with Shibata, he has had some incredible matches with guys like Honma and Goto. He is different to the two prior Japanese guys as his style is moreso based on brawling as opposed to their more profound offense. He is really awesome in the ring nonetheless and has put on some of the best matches in wrestling over the past few years.
Very honourable mentions: Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kyle O'Reilly, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, Minoru Suzuki, Cesaro, Tomoaki Honma, Hirooki Goto, Jushin Liger, John Cena, Randy Orton, Finn Balor, Neville, Ricochet.

I just realized sadly, that right now, I don't have any favorites. There are people that I like, but due to bad booking I don't really get excited about them. That makes me sad.

5. Dean Ambrose - He's fun to watch generally no matter what he's doing, despite being booked like a dipChocolate Shark
4. Kevin Owens - Everything he does is awesome. Everything
3. Sami Zayn - As was said, this is exactly what a babyface should be in 2015.
2. Daniel Bryan - He would be number 1, but the way he's been used since his return hasn't lead to much excitement since he was prematurely thrown out of the Rumble.
1. Shinsuke Nakamura - This man is the most entertaining wrestler in the world right now, if you haven't seen him work, do yourself a favor, take the day off and dedicate it to watching as many matches of his as you can.

1- Neville. Up on the main roster, still putting on stellar matches and working his way up the right way. He can go in EVERY style, from flying to chain/technical wrestling, to power.
2- Sami Zayn. He can work the hell out of a match psychologically. Fun, underdog you can really rally behind.
3- Dolph Ziggler. Best sell-man in the business. His PPV matches are always (pardon the terrible pun) show stealers. He and Harper's IC Ladder match is one of my faves of the past year.
4- Seth Rollins. Despite the fact he has to play the cowardly heel, his 'big feel' matches deliver, and he has a versatile moveset. He rarely ever botches. He was the highlight of the Cena/Brock triangle match at RR. Dat Phoenix Splash go hahd.
5- Tie between Kevin Owens and Brock Lesnar. Both powerhouses who dominate similarly but differently. Brock is a physical specimen, Owens is just like, solid dad fat. Both have pummeling strikes and the ability to whoop a dude down. They both bring that 'Heavyweight headliner' feel to their title matches.
Just below these guys on the list are Sasha Banks, Balor, D Bry (only cause he's injured and can't work the same), Luke Harper, Austin Aries and Randy Orton.

WWE Top 5:
1) Sami Zayn : It still blows my mind that El Generico is on a WWE tv show every week and is being properly booked.
2) Finn Balor: See Sami Zayn
3) Kevin Owens: See Zayn, Balor
4) Dolph Ziggler: It's WWE's own fault that he isn't the next HBK. He gives 100% in every match and has an explosive move set that goes well against any style.
5) Brock Lesnar: The only reason he's so low is because his matches have become a little predictable and he frequency in which he wrestles.

3) Kevin Owens
4) Young Bucks
5) Dolph Ziggler
A very close runner-up: ACH. He's so damn good and every match is energetic and fast-paced.

Lately my top five has been fluctuating often. I'll stick to full timers. No particular order...
Dean Ambrose: Something bout him just gets my attention.
Luke Harper: Constantly delivers.
Roman Reigns: Dude is a beast and he's only getting better.
Sami Zayn: Never seen anyone get the crowd to care about them like he has.
Sheamus: Sometimes you just want to see someone beat the hell out of someone else. Sheamus delivers that.
(Rollins, Paige, Balor, Ziggler, Cesaro, Kofi, Owens, & Neville all have potential of breaking my top five any day now.)
