If it wasn't for the 90s Children's movie, that would have been a great name for him. Or the one from 1949...

Joe. Just Joe. Millennials don't get to keep first names in WWE. Samoa Joe is 36, so he's hardly a "Millennial..." but your point is well taken. It's a joke.

Soooo damn overdue. WWE should have arguably snapped up Joe years ago, then again they've never had a platform like NXT before where Joes travelled Indy style would fit right in, with tons of potential 5* opponents.
I for one can't wait for Joseph Samo's debut.

Samolian Joe Wasn't he one of the Madagascar wrestlers that Alex Shelley and Johnny Devine brought over so Kevin Nash could practice X-division moves on them? I was always more of a Super Blue Cross Number Six fan.

I don't want some vague news that he's "potentially" signing - I want news that he's signed.

Which is why I said his point was well taken. He's saying if you understood it was a joke, your reply to it is basically pointless spam, that's all. As for Joe, I don't know what to expect, but I'm assuming I'll dislike it at first.

If this was 2005-2007, I'd be much more excited.

As a trainer maybe as a full time WWE superstar? No.
Theres much better and fresher talent they could sign.If this was 10 years ago when he was hot off his feud with kurt then absolutely but Now? Nope.

I spend more time advocating awareness of wrestling antiquity than any member of this board, so I believe I'm permitted to have such facts slip my mind on occasion. Even if the original from 1949 had been the only film to use the name, the time gap is still large enough for people to not make the connection. It's the same with the diving headbutt. It was pioneered by Harley Race, but people only remember Benoit doing it. It's sad, but what's old is new again given enough time.

Selfishly I would love to see Joe in NXT. But Joe might be better served to avoid.

Just pointing out an earlier version did exist.

the thing with Samoa Joe now is his age. He's basically going to be Taz 2.0 by the time he's actually in WWE.

I wonder what his name will be in NXT... Tongan Jake. But seriously. I'm super excited for him to sign. NT will be fun, but I really want to finally see Joe on the main roster. Seeing him against Rollins, Ziggler, Bryan (again), Orton, even Cena would be awesome.
