Having no vote is having a say. It's saying you don't want any of them in charge. How is that going to help. Even if they get a low turnout they are not going to care. So you may as well vote. Make your voice heard. Even if you don't agree with everything they say there must be one you agree with. It's the lesser of evils. One of them are getting in this year, that's a fact. The biggest statement that can be made is a no show. Vote ukip, or Monster Raving Loony, or whoever, your voice won't be heard. Vote conservative or labour and you get more of the same. I'm actually going a further and saying I will be out to Singapore or Malaysia if labour get in, or just chill in a cheap country for a couple of years. Because the aspirational will get nothing out of labour, and the lazy will get the lot as always

Going to the ballot and spoiling your vote says more than not voting. It shows that you're willing to vote but the parties aren't giving you something to vote for, so they will aim to change it.

Not voting or spoiling papers don't matter. They just won't care. It won't make any difference. I'm not saying everything us perfect. I've said many times we need a rehaul. But I think this is how it is, we gotta make the best of what we got. That's all I'm saying. Let's agree to disagree

Surprised nobody had started a thread. So opinions on the election, parties, candidates, etc. Also added a poll to see where the WF communities politics lie. Personally I'm not sure where I'm voting yet. I was a lib dem but finding that difficult after last year but not feeling the Green Party. Enjoy some political banter (nicely). Globalization is what ruined the economy, not Labour. Labour just happened to be in power when the the banking crisis hit.

The once good standing that Labour had was ruined by Gordon Brown. The man didn't have a clue what he was doing. For all of his faults, Tony Blair did a bloody good job as PM, and while this may be unpopular, he was in my view the last strong political leader this country has had.

I will go somewhere with a good investment banking change industry and pay no tax. Labour will tax the arse out of high rate tax payers like me and I'm not rich enough to be considered robbing from the poor. I will adapt my situation to maximise myself, it seems from your post you are happy to settle for what u get, which is fine for a lot of people, I'm not happy to just settle for the status quo though, why should we? Move the skills away from the country see how they fair then

That's a solid theory you've got there.

Vote labour in and watch the pound get spanked!

If I lived in England I'd probably vote Conservative.

Realistically, only 2 parties (Labour and Conservative) stand a chance of being elected... I feel voting for one of the smaller parties is kind of as wasted vote. So I'll probably vote Conservative... the lesser of two evils, lol.

I'm terrified by the idea of a Labour/SNP coalition. Sturgeon will use that for leverage to get another referendum, we all know it. If the Tories get back in, then it's bye-bye NHS. There's no chance of the Green Party getting in, same with the Lib Dems. If UKIP got in (again, not likely) then the country goes to Hell. Farage will pull out of the EU, which will lead to the collapse of the British Economy just as it's recovering.
There are no viable candidates in this election. Not a single one of them should be running this country.

I haven't seen a single person say they've voted Tory even the poll on here Labour won, so HOW do the exit polls have them winning?

Ugh. Election night.
Literally the best part about all of this is that Charlie Brooker made an election wipe special.

As an NHS employee all I can vote for is labour or lib dems. The Tories have done their best to ruin the NHS so that they can split it up and sell it up amongst their business interests and friends to make a pretty penny. To the cost to me of a 4 year pay freeze and a well behind the cost of living paltry 1% rise next year. Cheers Dave. The sooner these rich posh boys that only want to make the rich richer are out the sooner the rest of the normal people of this country can resume earning a decent living again. Soon to be NHS employee here too! It might only be for a year but still, I definitely want to see them protected. Tories last time, but bedroom tax + the NHS nonsense leads me to hope for Labour. The exit polls aren't even close, Tories literally ran away with it and will most likely form another coalition.

I haven't seen a single person say they've voted Tory even the poll on here Labour won, so HOW do the exit polls have them winning? I imagine you live somewhere where Labour are well supported, a lot of the Brits on here are from the North East and London aren't they? So I suppose you'd see Labour do particularly well on here. Hopefully the 10:00 exit poll will be wrong, but either way it doesn't look like it's going to be great for most of us. UKIP are doing alright so far, I'll be so miserable if Farage wins South Thanet and we get a Tory government.
