Im on my phone and dont see anything about this so if there is already I apologize.
Just came across something on Facebook that said Bruce Pritchard and Eric Bischoff were on a Talk is Jericho podcast and this came up.
Apparently Hogan's contract was up in WCW or close to expiring and talks between both sides began.
It was so far along that the plan was for Hogan to come back in Early '98, be the leader of DX and "pass the torch" to Austin at WrestleMania that year.
It was around the time that Bret had announced he was leaving for WCW that talks really got heavy.
Is this a real story???

I heard this on Jericho's podcast also.
I feel it was more of a "what if" idea/scenario than anything that was actually planned out.

This isnt Hogan telling a story tho... He may have to begin with. For some reason people tend to believe him and the story only grows. You know he was supposed to play for Metallica?

Prichard was on the writing team. This has absolutely nothing to do with Hogan telling a story.

Pritchard has been on record, several times, saying that the WWF was deep into negotiations to bring Hogan back in late-97/early-98 and that creative was actively working scenarios to get him in a program with Austin for Wrestlemania 14. I get the impression that Hogan was just using the WWF as leverage to get a new, and bigger, contract with WCW, though.
