He did a Q&A and said his first fight won't be until his coach says he's ready.

They've always said it would be late 2015... I wouldn't be surprised if it's early 2016 though. You can be sure they'd love him on the December MSG show (if it comes off).

Probably at the end of the year or early 2016 indeed.. But nobody knows actually.

No way he debuts outside of Chicago. I agree on the location. Dana is going to try and make as big of a deal as possible out of Punk's debut. It'll be nothing short of a Fox card, but more than likely a prominent spot on a PPV. Something like the third bout in a double championship headliner or the co-main in a PPV that has one title fight would probably be the best spots to get him on to help boost the buyrates. With so much talk of Dillashaw and Mighty Mouse not being strong draws, placing them on the same card as Punk would be the way to go to get the most out of everyone.

I don't think they should of announced it this early if he still has to train from rookie status.

I will watch but I fully expect him to lose. I expect him to loose too, but I'm sort of coming around to liking Punk. My attitude towards him is shifting and I'd like to see him win. I think it will be much more interesting if he surprises us and dominates, as opposed to just giving us what we expect - a disappointing loss.

I think he can beat fighters considered nobodies but once he fights someone that is actually really good I think he will get embarrassed I used to be a big fan but I don't like the way he's handled some stuff over the past year so I honestly want to see him get hit in the mouth lol

I think he will win his first few fights, then when he steps up he will go down, just depends how much money and publicity he can get for himself without taking too many risks.

I'm guessing he will be fighting near new years.
I think he'll do good for a bit, but once he gets to the bigger names is when we will see how well he can handle it.
Be hilarious if he goes in and runs through everyone

Be hilarious if he goes in and runs through everyone ...yeah, lol - everyone seems to think he'll get his @$$ kicked, but what if he actually does really well? No-one really knows just how good - or bad - he is. It's going to be a pretty exciting event/spectacle though, whatever happens...

With him training at Rofusport (especially since he's actually moved up there to do 2-3 a days) I imagine that Punk will do alright. He's in a good camp, and Duke seems to be high on his work ethic and improvements. With guys like Askren, Woodley, and the Pettis brothers training alongside him, improvement is the only option.
I've been thinking lately about who they could give him for the first fight that isn't a blatant can brought in to lose scenario, and a "TUF" alum is a good start. In more recent seasons guys have been coming into the show with 2-0, 3-0 records, so short of some average person that's as close to similar experience as we're probably going to get for a competitive fight.
