I never understood the whole popularity of the band Kiss. Most 70's "comedy" TV shows sucked. (Barney Miller, WKRP In Cincinnati, etc). Thinking of Kiss, I'd like to just say Aerosmith is an abortion of a band; a half-assed version of the New York Dolls, let alone KISS. They are awful and Steven Tyler looks like Mick Jagger's toes before a manicure.

Since it's been brought up, I prefer Aerosmith over The Rolling Stones.

My unpopular opinion is that the people who preach about "tolerance" the most are usually the most intolerant towards opposing viewpoints. I see it all the time and especially on this site recently.

I think the New 52 produced some of the all time best Joker stories.
Batman: Death of the Family Batman: Endgame
Just fantastic.

Replace stones with new york dolls, and you got it. And I like the Dolls..... I just find Johanssen to be a second-bit version of Mick Jagger, and my lore for the Stones is more Jones and/or Keith. I don't care much for Jagger, similar to David and the Dolls... I was a Johnny guy. Arthur Kane, even, but never much David Jo.. To me the Dolls were Rolling Stones NYC and Aerosmith was the NY Dolls-lite. KISS playing a huge influence on the Dolls too, I had brought them up previously. I respect Kiss and others from the period like Cooper because their showmanship was matched by good musicianship, too, and I did like a few Kiss songs (most of which the drummer sang.. e.g. Black Diamond..)

Metallca hasn't had a decent bass player with good stage presence since Cliff Burton.

I don't see what the big deal is about the Confederate flag. Nobody was bitching about the Confederate flag before last week, but because some white kid shot some black people and had taken pictures of himself with the Confederate flag, all of a sudden it needs to be banned from America? Like I said, nobody was trying to get the flag banned or removed until this one particular shooting.
So if I put on a shirt with the Apple logo on it and go on a massacre, are we going to shut down Apple? Ban iPads from America? Force Apple to change their logo? Where is the line going to be drawn?
/end rant

I do not want Slash and Axl Rose to reunite. Chinese Democracy is my favorite Guns n' Roses album, and I would prefer an album more like that than another Appetite for Destruction.

Like I said, nobody was trying to get the flag banned or removed until this one particular shooting. It's actually been debated for longer than that. I'm talking about the flag flying at the SC Capitol, not a bumper sticker on someone's pickup truck. I remember it was one of the topics we debated in my freshman history class (at least 15 years ago...makes me cringe now). That was around the time that they comprised removing it from the Capitol dome and moved it to a smaller square in front of the building. I was surprised to hear that it was only there since 1962. My opinion (popular or unpopular), is that it shouldn't be on a government building, property, etc. I could care less if a private citizen wants to display it, that's their right. A couple more random ones: - I really don't understand the zombie obsession that some people have. - Wrestling related, Jeff Jarrett has always been a glorified mid-carder to me. - I'm an atheist, pretty self explanatory. - Never could get into Coldplay or U2. - Scrapple really isn't all that bad. - Anybody remember Discovery Zone? Granted it was a hell of a play place, but that was the worst pizza I ever ate, and the place smelt like feet.

Now, Izzy on the other hand...I'd gladly see what he's got going on. But I would still choose Buckethead and Robin Finck to come back first.

And that bitching had little to do with the most recent shooting, they wf just the catalyst of the issue getting mainstream attention. The Confederate flag is probably the most Un-American thing in existence. They left the country then went to war with it. They weren't kicked out, they chose secession. I'm not going to re-try the entire issue here. It's pointless. Most people seem to think that they can ignore the bigotry, hatred, racism, violence, etc. that that abortion of a flag really stands for and just pick and choose their "heritage." If you want to know what that flag really stands for then look into the Confederacy Cornerstone Speech. The vice president of the Confederacy directly says that they seceded because of slavery. He also talks about "putting the negros on their place" among many other detestable things. It's really worth a read. You need to have all the information before forming an opinion. That's my [unfortunately] unpopular opinion.

So is the American flag, no one gripes about it...even though presidents ordered the extermination of Indians ...my ancestors were fortunate enough and ditched the walk to Oklahoma and hide out in the hills of Tennessee. more blood has been shed for the American flag then the confederate flag could ever have. washington, jefferson, and most of the early presidents had slaves. no one talks about that either. probably some prick northern kid who tries to plays bball down on the corner to be accepted by the local black kids. shut the up.

You're deflecting and that's a cop out. 4. "Playing bball to be accepted by the black kids." Every time you post about this issue you sound more and more like a biggot.

I was jumped by 3 black kids because I had a Mccain sticker on my binder in high school, did i pull a knife on them and they run? yes.

I was jumped by 3 black kids because I had a Mccain sticker on my binder in high school, did i pull a knife on them and they run? yes. I said this topic, not this thread. More specifically the thread on the Charleston shooting. Once again, if you think that no one has been taking about the crimes that have been committed in America's name then you are delusional. You are either looking in the wrong places or you just don't want to see it. No one is talking about it at this moment in time because the Confederate flag is the topic at this moment in time, but that doesn't negate previous complaints about this country. An issue was raised to you and your immediate response was to basically say "Yeah well what about these other guys and what they did?" without addressing the original issue (the Confederate flag and it's history/meaning as told by the founders of the Confederacy) at all. That's literally the definition of cop out. The fact that I said "... the genocide this country was founded upon" proves that I was acknowledging the past horrors of this country, which is the exact opposite of a cop out. What does black on black crime have to do with anything? It's a serious, but separate issue. I'm sorry about the issue that you had with those black kids in school. I really am. I'm sure this isn't much consolation to you but there are pieces of crapin every race and creed. We can't judge the whole for the crimes of the few and the few need to be reached out to. We as a society need to embrace them and try to teach them a better way. But for those who don't want to listen... well that's what prisons are for. Most of them will find their way there sooner or later. Although that is much easier for someone who hasn't been jumped by three people to say. I understand your anger but perpetuating the hate will only continue to make things worse.

do you realize Clementa In 2000, during his first term in the South Carolina State Senate, Pinckney actually voted in favor of H5028, the May 2000 compromise which placed the flag at its current location. www.scstatehouse.gov/sess113_1999-2000/hj00/3614.htm#p3643apparently he didnt think it was too racist or evil no one has mentioned that on the news...i wonder why.
