Can't he just be Damien Sandow? I actually enjoyed him before all this gimmick infringement horsesh*t.

until they actually DO something with the guy, like having him win some matches and get into an actual good booked feud with someone
no one is going to care that much

I thought his "mocking his opponents' entrance announcement" was pretty good, but the problem is you always end up with the jobber entrance.

I'm sure Sandow will have a great, lengthy run with this just like Charlie Haas.

He should start singing his opponents theme song, like he did against Randy Orton. Sandow is actually funny, it's a shame they think they need to do this kind of stuff with him.

What if he always impersonated his opponents? Came out dressed just like them, to their music, and used their move set? Sandy Orton, Damien Reigns, etc...etc. He'll lose more often than not but it'd be (somewhat) original at least.

Why can't they just let Sandow be himself?

Why does WWE have to steal all of TNA's stuff? BWahahahahha ... Not sure if serious... Would this mean WWE is stealing TNA's gimmick of stealing a WWE gimmick?

Why can't they just let Sandow be himself? There is no "himself" really -- he was the snob gimmick, then the impersonator. Right now he's trying to find an identity using elements of those, but I think he's been doomed since the split from Miz. WWE kinda discounted how important Miz/the double act was to Sandow's popularity. Damien's a hell of a talent, but when it's all said and done, I think Mizdow will be the peak of his career.

Good point. I've never been a fan of impersonator gimmicks. That was really my whole point. EDIT: That, and Sandow is a solid worker and he should be given the opportunity to succeed or fail on his own, as should the entire roster. Hell, I think the Ascension might not have been such a failure if the suits had been more hands off.

To me impersonator gimmicks automatically make me "tune out" emotionally and mentally. Find an original gimmick or presentation that fits and pushes him forward period.

I really like Damien Sandow, he's a great worker and solid on the mic. He has a really good look and could easily be a main eventer if people backstage believed in him. But this career trajectory is so doomed, so so doomed. The poor guy is in gimmick-purgatory. The five-year old "repeat-everything-you-say-back-to-you" shtick gets old fast, now this?
On another note, why DON'T they try to sign Jay Lethal - this guy has more charisma in his pinky finger than the entire RAW roster.

I thought the peak of his career was when he won the MITB briefcase and was feuding with Cody to red-hot reception on SD. And also being prominently featured on RAW, wasn't he like beat up by DX after coming out with his Intellectual Savior gimmick?

A lot of times, he was the most popular and entertaining guy on the show. I suspect a lot of boring house shows were saved by Miz and Mizdow's antics.

With Enzo Amore out of action for a while, why dont they have Damien Sandow take his place in the tag team and mix the 2 gimmicks together?

As much as a Sandow fan that I am, I wouldn't like that. Bruh. This thread is a year old.
