Mabels de push was 100% to do with hurting Nash & UT and the Kliq not wanting to work with him as a result. They were right in this case. Bam Bam Bigelow should have won the 1995 KOTR by beating HBK in the final.HBK was heading to IYH2 to beat JJ for the IC strap anyway and feud with Razor so nobody would have been hurt. Vince had WAY too many faces in the Summer of 1995. Bret Taker Diesel Razor HBK Bigelow Luger Davey ALL faces......vs Sid, Owen, JJ & Yoko on the proven over heels side...... Heel Luger would have been a great choice too. Have him turn his back on America and admire himself again, storm through the KOTR KOing everyone and you've got a great, credible heel to go after Diesel.

At the time of WM11 Luger had been in the USA gimmick for nearly two years.....and Jesus wept he was stale as hell and phoning it in to beat it out. God only knows what a heel turn and return to the Narcissist would've done for his career. I also firmly believe he would've made a great opponent for Nash based on their WCW vs nWo clashes.

What really ticks me off about Luger's WWF run, is that he played that Narcissist gimmick SO perfectly. So many guys have had gimmicks like that over the years, but to me, his is one of the best portrayals ever. And we only got it for about 5 months!!! The only guy I think did it better was Rick Rude. Allied Powers had promise, but a heel Luger would have been preferable, some guys are born heels. Luger is one of them.

I don't always agree with most of the things you say but this is one I can 100% agree with. Lex Luger was a better heel than as a face. When Vince McMahon saw that Hulk Hogan left, his patriotic side got the better of him when Luger turned face. What I found stupid is Yokozuna was originally billed from the Polynesian Islands. Of which is no where near Japan. I would have enjoyed a Bret Hart and a heel Lex Luger feud.

I thought Luger was a great natural heel right away when he debuted at I think it was the WM8 segment, he fit right in with Heenan. The plethora, Snickers and milk segment.
"That's class!"

I noticed that during the Allied Powers tag matches, Bulldog would always get the pin, and if they lost, Luger would do the job. Safe to say Vince was clearly bored with Lex in 1995, and I really don't blame Lex for jumping ship to WCW.
Interesting fact though about the Allied Powers. Lex Luger had so many shots at WWE Titles, whether it be the World, IC or Tag, and never won, but yet won numerous titles in WCW. Where as the British Bulldog in WCW had a shot at every title there and didn't win one, but held numerous titles in the WWE.
