These are the rarest but fortunately I buy doubles in case they become rare. For example, I have two MIB SDCC Takers in original sealed factory boxes, but I never thought it'd be particularly rare. Basically if you like a flashback coming out you're best bet is to order initially if you can and keep two because the demand is going up and with Mattel holding the license for at least years to come, the rare figures will likely only go up in value.

it surprises me what ppl pay for the rsc exclusives after rsc sells out. they usually r on their site at "retail" for like 3-6 months.

Or longer And then when it's sold out, the figure is on the secondhand market for twice the price or more and by then it's a must have for anybody who doesn't have it

Many will disagree, but it honestly goes by what the "it" figure is.
These people selling for that high most likely lurk these boards, so when they see people clamoring about certain figures..they jump in bin price as well as starting price.
Rsc had stands for the longest time, then a thread popped up about stands and they were sold out everywhere suddenly.
If people are will to pay for a toy that is inflated in price 700%..then people will sell them

If people are will to pay for a toy that is inflated in price 700%..then people will sell them I think you could say the same about anything in the history of consumerism no?? Take Nike's. In recent years Air force one, Jordans, Air Max, and now Huaraches have been hot. Pretty much in the same order as when they first became hot in the 80's and 90's!! A friend of mine made a crap load of trainers you can now get for below retail. I think the reason the early flashbacks and legends are so hot was because everyone had large Jakks collections. Then their came a point where everyone realised, "Wait a minute, now we have a crap load of old school Mattel figures, I better catch up!!" The lucky amongst us just loved them from the start, and bought them early, but more and more people are playing catch up and the supply line is thing. There are a couple of figures I've seen on ebay that I need loose, maybe 5 time since November. That makes them incredibly scarce.

I wish I had gotten the RSC Cactus Jack but at the time I was focusing on TNA and the TNA Deluxe Impact 2 Foley was hard to come by back then so I figured I'd just get that. Now that I like Mattel that's gone

The most I paid for any was $50 for SDCC Undertaker and $45 for Cactus Jack. Both in the last 3 months, open/complete and mint from eBay. I used to work graveyard shift so I was awake sniping things.

I think most of these figures have found happy homes by now so there are a lot less willing sellers unless you wanna pay big bucks. I still don't have Nash or Bossman or rsc SCSA because of this. I've waited for better prices since day one for me because I started collecting late but now I come to the realization that I will not have these figures in my collection ever That's not necessarily true man. For a while I thought I'd never have Elite 12 Kane, which I'm surprised is not on the OP since this has always been one of the most expensive figures on the secondary market that I've seen. As my collection grew and I began collecting more and more and making more purchases at retail, I assembled a pretty nice collection and started to list things on the Classifieds. It didn't happen overnight, but I eventually assembled quite a decent collection and certain figures that I was willing to trade, and now I have 2 Elite 12 Kanes (1 MOC, 1 loose) all because of trading on the Classifieds. If I remember correctly, for the first E12 Kane, I traded 3 HOF Series 1 figures MOC when they first came out. It was something I had debated doing since I really liked the HOF figures and 3-for-1 was a lot, but I really wanted that Kane and said what the hell. You just have to be patient, and willing to trade good figures - you gotta give good stuff to get good stuff. So my point is, while you may not be able to afford the 1 figure on eBay, over time, you may be able to trade for the figure.

I just scored a Legends 6 Warrior mint condition for $20 shipped

I picked up elite 12 Kane, rsc ses punk and all stars punk loose without accessories off the bay for around $70 including shipping. They came from a Chinese seller so I was unsure about the quality but sure enough they were all in pretty good condition. As another person said, you just gotta be patient to get what you want at a good price.
