I hope Falcao scores a hat-trick against United. I don't just because we'd never hear the end of it in the press.

Rodgers could well be the first manager sacked with those opening fixtures.

Pleased with our fixtures. Some tough matches after the CL games in the early days (including the play off and, if we get through that, the groups) but our run in is not as difficult as it could have been. We have a cluster of tough fixtures in Spet/Oct and again in March but not as bad as last year. Would take Falcao in a heartbeat if we can get him on loan, a very tough task for Jose to decide who starts as Number 9. On a side note, why's Falcao got rid of his barnet?! The modern day Batistuta is no more! I like Falcao, think he was better than portrayed by the media (especially in his early days where he created a few goals and looked quite good if a bit rusty) but his confidence was just worn down to the point where he started believing the abuse hurled at him. He can definitely be better than he was at United and I hope he gets back to a top level, though preferably not at Chelsea. That said, there's no way your #9 starter is a tough decision. Costa is very good when he's fit and Falcao will never be as good as he was. Maybe he'll be good enough to give Costa a run for his money but he certainly isn't there now. If you really believe that its a tough choice on day 1 of the season then its even worse than the fools who suggested Cech would/should be starting over Cortouis before the season just gone (I argued with so many of those and felt very vindicated the longer the season went on).

By that I meant if Falcao was back to his best. Was by far the best centre forward in the World for two Seasons before joining Monaco, so a firing Falcao and a fully fit Diego would be hard for me. Not sure about that Cech situation, I thought I was with the majority that Courtois should have been Number 1 straight away. I was expecting Jose to handle it in a similar way to the Casillas and Diego Lopez situation with Cech starting in Europe and Courtois in the League, although I am glad he just went for it with Courtois for obvious reasons.

If Falcao is back to his best he's better than Costa - I just highly doubt he'll ever get back to his best, though he may return to a high level. The people who thought Cech should start ahead of Cortouis were definitely, like you say, a minority. They were just a ing mental minority.

We've signed James McClean. Meh. Very surprised he's found his way back to the Premier League. Big Tony will sort him out though.

Looking back at his goal record for us, I forgot how many he actually got. Shame his attitude is a disgrace.

What an awful end to the season we had Anyway, pleased with what we're doing so far with Bent, Weimann, Sylla & Lowton all gone. Vlaar, N'Zogbia and Given joining them would be great. Richards in on a free is a great signing as well, solid player. Surely we can't get any worse this season..

So Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Firmino and are after Carlos Bacca and Salomon Rondon. Could this be the summer they get their transfers right for a change?
I've wanted to see Bacca and Firmino in the Premier League for a couple of seasons and Rondon was very highly rated a few years back and would offer them some physical presence. Good business.

Bacca would be the perfect fit for Liverpool.

Reports are that Clyne is joining Liverpool for 12.5 million. In dire need of a RB so this would be a great move.

I don't see them getting Bacca - not with ing United and Roma apparently sniffing around.

My timeline is already full of Liverpool fans on cloud 9 over this Firmino signing. Be surprised if any of them have even seen him kick a ball before to be fair. Probably gets good on football manager..
