If Berahino starts to kick up a fuss he's a tit. He'd only end up at Newcastle at most. He needs to have a really impressive season next season and then move on.

Looks like Bayern are going to have talks with Shweinsteiger following a proposed offer from United. Would be a perfect signing for them if genuine. Was slightly shocked at Van Persie's decision to go to Fenerbahce though, could easily have gone to Juventus or somewhere better. Also, if anyone pays a penny over 20million for Higuain this summer they should take a hard look at themselves.

Darmian is a great signing and was in a position where we desperately needed someone. Now get Schneiderlin, a top CB (Ramos would be a dream but still unrealistic) and a great young striker (Lacazette please). That'd be a team capable of challenging for the title, and winning it the following season once everyone is bedded in.
Sorry to see RvP go but he's been poor 2 seasons running. He was more than worth the fee for title #20, and I'll always be a fan. Its time for him to move on though.

Betting suspended on Martin O'Neill returning as Leicester manager.
Of course his first competitive game in charge would be against Sunderland.

Mixed feelings. Wasn't old enough to follow the original O'Neill years, so I have no memories to be tarnished. I get the impression he did a fairly bad job at Sunderland and has done a pretty average job with Ireland, but his record everywhere else is great. Think he's very capable of getting us stable in the Prem but can't see him reaching the heights that I expected Nigel to reach or that he reached last time around. Still really hurt over them sacking Nigel Person, he was creating something special and they've ruined that, but of the likely candidates MON is probably one of the better options.

As i've said before the year hiatus between leaving Villa & joining us I think really ruined his actual passion for the game. Guaranteed a victory on his debut though, betting on Altidore scoring against us in pre season and O'Neill beating us, think i'm gonna be a bit richer come mid August.

Cabaye to Palace and Ogbonna to West Ham are fabulous moves for both clubs.

Schweinsteiger to Man Utd could be very exciting indeed.
A lot of the United supporters are already insufferable though. Basically proclaiming themselves the greatest team in the world now and how they'll win everything this season. Ugh.

Glad Schweinsteiger is on his way to the Premier League. Quality player, not sure about his legs anymore though.

The bookies reckon it's Claudio Ranieri for Leicester today, looking forward to seeing who they think it'll be tomorrow.

Jesus what a great couple of days for us. A great player for a relatively cheap fee in the position where we were most desperate (Darmian), and a top class central midfielder who should still have a few years in him and can take games by the scruff of the neck (Schweinsteiger). I hope this doesn't mean we stop going for Schneiderlin though as he would be great for us. I'm envisioning a midfield 3 with ADM on the left, one of Carrick/Schneiderlin sitting deep and one of Schweini/Herrera on the right. That said Schneiderlin and Schweini could swap positions as Schweinsteiger gets older and presumably moves deeper.
Great work so far from Ed (not forgiven for that first summer yet but its progress). Get me Schneiderlin, a top CB (Ramos would be lovely but I'm fine with Otamendi too) and a good striker (I'm thinking Lacazette but lets see what we go for) and it'd be a near-perfect summer. De Gea going would/will be a massive shame but I'm ok with Valdes in goal, or buying Lloris as long as its under £40m. Not Cillessen or Oblak preferably.

£49m for Sterling.

£49,000,000 for Raheem Sterling is beyong a joke in all honesty, it just makes a mockery of where the English game is at. I understand he has potential and that he's English, but for I can't get my head around how somebody who has scored just 18 Goals in 113 Games and assisted 15 can be worth that much. He's worth about £26million and even at around the low £30million's I could let go, but the English fluctuation is borderline embarassing. Still, a front 3 of Sterling, Silva and Jesus Navas behind Aguero will be good for City no doubt.
I think we are coming very close to getting Pedro. He'll do a good job for us and it's extra strength in depth, but I'm not overly excited about it. Maybe it means Hazard in the middle from now on.

The price is laughable and he's not worth it but with 20% of the transfer fee going to QPR I can see why Liverpool have demanded such a high fee.

Good price for Liverpool, and if can be spent wisely by Rodgers then the deal might well be priceless. Besides, they have Ibe of similar ilk to Sterling, i'm sure they'll cope.
