They've just tried with Sheamus. Multiple times. He's a great hand, but he's not a main event guy. Also, the braids in his beard are incredibly stupid, but, I, digress.
Putting it on Sheamus makes the main event scene significantly less interesting, immediately.

Wow how shocking:/
I guess it makes since as Sheamus legit took out Daniel Bryan ha those guys and dolph ziggler were really physical in matches months ago. Daniel Bryan also it whooped for 6 months . I remember one summer he wrestled like handicap matches in Mainevents and/or single match via dq atthebegining of the show on raw and smackdown.. Haha I love Sheamus gimmick however. But wanted nevilles or honestly Kofi to win lol but he is tag champ again can't complain.

The best storyline choice would have been Reigns. It would have been cool to see Reigns vs. Ambrose or Reigns vs. Rollins. But Sheamus? I don't know, it might be interesting.

If Ambrose wins tonight and Sheamus cashes in...
Not only would it be the SECOND Ambrose title tease, but it would get the fans to HATE Sheamus. Not in a good heel heat way, but in a "I'm done with this guy, get him off my screen" kinda way.
