I had a GF of 5 years that would go on figure hunts with me, but we broke up 9 months ago. That's the thing I'll miss most about her. I stopped buying figures and actually contemplated selling them or giving them away. (No contact with wrestling or figures in this 9 month stretch!) I had another GF that I dated for about 5 months and I never told her because I hadn't planned on buying more and we broke up 2 months ago. Now recently, I was walking through Target and noticed the 4Horseman set on the shelves. This being 9 months of distancing myself from figures or wrestling. My jaw hit the floor!!! All kinds of thoughts were going through my head, including "WE GOT ANOTHER TULLY!, IS THAT WINDHAM!?" I just started dating this new girl and she feels like leagues above me in every area. I'm pretty sure she would dump me if I told her about this hobby and the fact that I wanna start back up, slowly of course. I never thought I would collect again, but then again, I never thought I would see the WWE put out more NWA or ECW characters. (Blanchard, Windham, Malenko) I didn't buy the 4Horseman set, but bought the Road Warriors to ease myself in. I feel guilty about this and don't know why. If you feel like she is leagues above you and would dump you over this...she isn't the one. My advice would be to hit that as much as possible until she does eventually dump you over this or whatever else. Enjoy it while it lasts and move happily on to the next one. There is nothing better in life than a little variety. Why have one out of your league girlfriend when you can carve 20 of those notches before landing the right one. Never underestimate what a woman will think. They are not all shallow idiots that will leave you over a hobby. Sure, my wife makes fun of my doll collection, but she supports it. I would say she is leagues above me. Hell, most of us have women that are leagues above us. Don't let a girlfriend dictate what makes you happy. She should like you for who you are and be ok with it. My best friend is obsessed with Legos. He scores the hottest chicks all of the time and openly plays with his Legos when he feels like it. Even I find it weird. The ladies don't care. Sound advice brother man. Sounds like advice that I'd personally give to others, but don't follow it myself sometimes. This just kinda happened all of the sudden. I really thought I would never collect again, but walking down that toy aisle and seeing the new ones just blew my mind! This girl is a 10 and thinks I'm as slick as Ric Flair, haha. I'll break the news to her if it becomes long term. Thanks again bud.

My fiancee fully supports it. She'll go look for me while she's going to work since there's a target and tru right next to her work. She loves it because she knows it makes me happy. She loves buying me figures almost like a sugar momma haha. She knows all the ones I want and gets excited when she finds one she knows I'm looking for. She also gets angry when there's nothing there. "They only had stupid Daniel Bryan and Cody Rhodes!"it's an awesome relationship. I was always nervous about what my girlfriend would think but it feels good that she actually enjoys it so much. And she hates wrestling too lol. She can't watch it but she loves that I have such a benign hobby. I don't know how anyone could be with somebody who's so against something that brings you happiness. Life's too short and there's too many fish in the sea to be with somebody who doesn't like your hobbies. If she's the one she will want your happiness and be supportive of it. So many men are into comic books and stuff that collecting wrestling figures isn't a big deal.

The only thing my wife dislikes about mine is that both my sons are now hooked and have figure collections that damn near rival mine. Overall, it's not an issue.

My gf doesn't mind it but I've only been doing it for a year and some months and have amassed a humongous collection. I stopped for a minuscule moment when we moved from about summer to winter of last year, then started right back up when I switched from Jakks to Mattel. At one time they were taking up half out marble table because I was running out of room close to where they're stored. I have opened a lump some, mostly Jakks(a few Elites) and it's somewhat under control until we move into a house next spring when our lease is up. She knows I'm spending a lot of money considering I started so late and tons of boxes come in from Ebay. I feel much better when I get some from stores because it shows I'm spending normal price.

Not married and currently single but Ive had girls that don't care, think it's cute, think it's cool, and completely embarrassed by it and wanted to leave.
Sometimes I wonder who's gonna marry me with all these toys I got and how much wrestling I watch, but if a decision of marriage hinges on that then I don't need to be marrying them

I haven't experienced telling any chick about the figures, but I know what to expect. So yeah, I'll be the guy to admit that I somewhat shy away from telling people. I've had friends judge me and ridicule me in the past for buying figures and whatnot so I sort of know what the reaction is. On the other hand, I've met some cool people who collect figures, just not people my age. Maybe, it's society but I find that kids are buying less toys nowadays and are growing up faster, who knows.

My wife likes it and hates it at the same time. She loves wrestling as I do. She likes most of the figures I get. She HATES that I'm kinda obsessed with it. I'm always on my phone looking at RSC, eBay and this site. She also gets kinda annoyed that I wanna stop at every target, TRU and Walmart we pass.

Honestly, I think how they perceive the hobby is based solely on how you present it...
While I currently have a long term girlfriend who loves hunting and helping build the collection, I've never had a girl be weird or off put by my figures. I used to have my MOC CS collection of over 100 figures hung on the wall over my bed. Over the six year period before I met my girlfriend, I had a lot of girls over my place and not one was off-put by my collection. Why? Because I presented it with confidence as opposed to shying away or being embarrassed. Everytime id bring a new girl to the bedroom, I'd get the "What are those?" Question and every time I responded with pride in my hobby and confidence in myself as a man. Not ONCE did it ever get in the way of sealing the deal, but if it did, she'd have been taking the walk of shame very early in the night.
In conclusion, be confident in your hobby and have pride. Don't hide something that you care about and is clearly a big part of your life. Don't be shy about it and don't present it as less important than it really is!

I normally don't post outside of the Canada Board too often, but I had to respond to this to say that I really agree with this! All of my friends (including girls) know how big of a wrestling fan and collector I am. I do not hide my hobby from them at all. It got to the point where my friends that are girls (I don't have a girlfriend) actually WANTED to see my room!

My wife has gone from not getting it, to accepting it, to helping me find them, to warltching it on TV, to going to live events. She has said it's entertaining and the figures, except the rock and Cody Rhodes, look just like he the real people and look better than other figures out there. She makes it a lot more fun.

On the other hand, I've met some cool people who collect figures, just not people my age. Maybe, it's society but I find that kids are buying less toys nowadays and are growing up faster, who knows. I was a little shy about telling my fiancee' about it ages ago. Then one day she caught my checking eBay on my phone, asked me what I was looking for, so I showed her. Then later she bought me DDP and Arn Anderson (before the re-releases) and surprised me with them. I'm an adult. I can do whatever I want with my money and I don't spend it on some of the negative things people in my age bracket spend their money on. Nobody gets to give me their opinion if they're not paying my bills, and if they try to give me their opinion, I tell them to f*** off. This goes for everyone in this thread. Not all women are going to have a problem about it. Those that do are just insecure and immature. If my harmless hobby is going to be an issue for them, then they aren't someone I'm going to be able to have an honest, stable relationship with. I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't do drugs. If buying toys with disposable income is a problem, then that's a relationship that's going to cause me more grief than it's worth. Luckily, my fiancee' is an amazing woman and is more accepting of who I am and more caring about me than any of my exes. So if anybody has a problem with who you are or what makes you happy, run. Because if something so innocuous as buying toys is a problem for them, they're not going to be able to handle real problems when they come along. I'll get off my soap box now.

My Monday evening usually is me sitting on the floor of the basement playing with my figures. My wife lays on the couch and we watch Raw together while I play. She asks for a few figures for Xmas list but mostly I find them first lol. She also will call me when she's at tru and Kmart and let me know what they have in stock. Luv her to pieces. She cleats purses and I never care what she spent on clothes it works out. She has a few herself.

My girlfriend supports it, even if she's not as big of a wrestling fan as I am. I'm letting her watch some of my favorite matches and clips. It helps she's a Cena fan
