Will Rollins Get His Title Back?
June 8, 2015
Who deserves to hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? Well, the situation’s a bit murky right now, with The Lunatic Fringe — having had his victory at WWE Elimination Chamber taken away from him — stealing the title and demanding a Ladder Match at Money in the Bank. Ambrose got what he wanted, but he’s in no hurry to return The Architect’s property. Before the high-stakes battle between these former Shield “brothers,” will Rollins exact vengeance against his unstable foe? If so, will he do it alone and without the aid of The Authority?
Join WWE.com as we look toward the final Raw before Money in the Bank.
Can Rollins be ‘The Future of WWE’ on his own?
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has always seemed to get by with a little help from his friends — heck, he’s even gotten assists from people he can’t stand. Yet, in the past week, The Architect has been set on proving that he doesn’t need The Authority to fight his battles for him, reinforcing his desire for solitude in a scathing address to the WWE Universe on SmackDown.
Is this bravado misplaced? Many of Rollins’ successes since dismantling The Shield — including his Money in the Bank Contract Ladder Match victory last year — involved at least some Authority intervention. Will Rollins eat his words this week as his Ladder Match with Dean Ambrose approaches?
Speaking of The Lunatic Fringe, the unstable Superstar is still in possession of the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Will Rollins get his hands on his prize before Money in the Bank, or will Ambrose continue this high-stakes game of Keep Away?
How will John Cena respond to Kevin Owens?
“‘Hustle, Loyalty, Respect’? ‘Never Give Up’? John, that’s not how it works in the real world. This happily ever after fairytale fantasy that you’ve been force-feeding kids around the world for the last 10 years is absolute garbage. Someone needs to put an end to the corruption of our children’s minds by John Cena, and I will gladly be the one to step up and do just that in our rematch at Money in the Bank.’”
So said Kevin Owens Thursday night on SmackDown, boldly labeling the United States Champion’s indomitable attitude as mere delusion and criticizing The Champ of lying to young people around the world. This bitter address came moments before Owens introduced his own version of Cena’s ongoing open challenge and obliterated Zack Ryder with two Pop-up Powerbombs.
Cena has never faced an opponent quite like Owens before, but as history has shown, Cena won’t let these accusations go unanswered. What will Cena say — or do — in response to Owens’ scathing criticisms Monday night on Raw, six nights before Money in the Bank?
What’s next for Dolph Ziggler and Lana?
There’s a lot of buzz surrounding Dolph Ziggler heading into the Money in the Bank Contract Ladder Match, but not all of it concerns his chances in the bout itself. Ever since Lana planted two kisses on The Showoff’s lips last month, the WWE Universe just can’t stop talking about this blossoming romance — especially since the exact nature of this relationship remains a mystery.
Michael Cole attempted to get some answers out of Ziggler in a WWE.com Exclusive, but the veteran lothario simply stated that he likes “what she’s got going on,” and hinted that he’s just playing things by ear. As for Lana, she made clear on SmackDown during “Miz TV” that she’s enjoying her newfound freedom since aligning with The Showoff.
What’s going on between Ziggler and Lana behind closed doors, exactly? Hopefully, we’ll learn more about this apparent coupling on Raw.
How will Paige begin to ‘change’ the Divas division?
On SmackDown, three nights after falling victim to “Twin Magic” during her Divas Championship Match against Nikki Bella on Raw, Paige launched into an impassioned address, criticizing The Bella Twins of holding back the entire Divas division.
“If you don’t like the world that you live in, you have the power to change it,” The Diva of Tomorrow said. “So, I guess I’m going to have to change it.”
What exactly did the former Divas Champion mean? Will we see Paige begin to institute this “change” on Raw?
Will Kane be laughing all the way to the ‘Bank’?
On SmackDown, WWE’s Director of Operations dropped a massive bombshell, declaring that he’ll be the seventh man in the Money in the Bank Contract Ladder Match next Sunday, live on the award-winning WWE Network.
The corporate enforcer is no stranger to this high-stakes battle, having won the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank Ladder Match in 2010 and having competed in six such bouts since the stipulation’s inception in 2005. Are his six opponents ready to face the wrath of one of the most ferocious Superstars in WWE history?
Don’t miss Raw at 8/7 C on USA Network, and be sure to tune in to Raw Pre-Show at 7:30 ET, exclusively on WWE Network.
