Made some Japanese-style turnbuckle pads for my scale ring. Nothing fancy, pretty cheap, looks cool, and it frees up pads for my scale 6-sided ring, once i can get a base made since i have no woodcutting tools lol

Heres a little walkthrough on kaling these pads, i did one and now ill have to do a whole other set lol Heres what i use, a sheet of craft foam and wooden dowel First, i cut the dowel to size. I just hold the dowel against the padless turnbuckles and eyeball it, a little hangover at top and bottom so the pads dont fall off is how i like them Second, i cut a piece of foam. I rolled the foam around the dowel and marked the edges, you can further trim after its attached Next i secured the dowel to the foam with a bead of hot glue, then i trimmed the foam at the edges to fold and roll A bead of glue on the top and bottom tabs and i fold them over the dowel A bead of glue between the length of the dowel and roll, letting the glue come right to the end of the foam, trimming the extra off as needed... And reapeat on the other side, peeling off the extra glue that comes out... And thats it! You cant paint them as you see fit, i brushed on a bit of mod podge to seal the paint, and used some mini rubberband hair ties to hold them on. Once i finish the set if anyone wants them ill put them in my classifieds, i dont think i need more thsn one set at the moment
