Dusty Rhodes, gone but will never ever be forgotten, I mean my condolences go out to his family especially his sons Goldust and Stardust well Cody Rhodes I mean but still this is a loss that I definitely did not expect but I can see a tribute show being done for Dusty Rhodes like how they did for the Ultimate Warrior

Words can't describe how I feel right now.
It would take me a long time to watch the Mixed Tag Match from WrestleMania VI now.

Some of my fondest memories of my youth invovled me, my brother, and grandfather sitting in my grandparents' house watching WCW Saturday Night where Dusty provided color commentary.
Long before Botchamania, this clip always made me laugh as I remember watching this match with my grandfather and laughing at the absurdity. The fact that even Dusty had to break from the action to comment on the lunacy made this always stick out for me.
Thank you Dusty for always making me laugh, and being connected to some awesome memories.

This day has turned out to really suck. TRW is going to be devastated.

I just had to post one of my favorite, funny moments of Dusty, when he did commentary in WCW. He could bring the intensity when it called for him to be serious, but he could also be light hearted, and make you laugh as well, which was part of what made the man so great.

So weird knowing that we just saw him a few months ago and now he's dead. This isn't shocking considering his health problems and age but a tragic loss none the less. RIP.

I firmly believe there is a "Mount Rushmore" of professional wrestling..
Hogan, Flair, Andre, Savage, Warrior and Dusty Rhodes.
These are the guys that defined a generation and still define an industry, and it saddens me that now only two are left standing.
RIP Dream.

Damn.... I'm just stunned, I had no idea.... was not expecting this today.
The American Dream had his moments, but at his core - he was a 'rasslin genius.
Guess I'll be breaking out the 'Dream DVD tonight & walking down memory lane.... I hope the WWE Network has something for us, too.
Please bring on the emotional montage, WWE.... I'm ready to cry.

Probably explains why Goldust and Cody have been off TV so much lately. RIP American Dream Dustin had shoulder surgery a month ago - reason why he has been out - supposed to return in October. Now for Cody - that may be the reason why he hasn't been on TV the last week or so. RIP American Dream - now I got your WWE theme song stuck in my mind - but this time I'm liking it.

Dusty was and will always be a big part of my chidhood. He was the perfect foil for Ric Flair and i got carried away watching those two for years. He was ALWAYS consitently entertaining. A true icon in any sense of the word entertainment. Didnt see this coming at all. My condolences to his family . ...RIP Dream.....you will never be forgotten.

A legend who thrived in arguably the most difficult era of Professional Wrestling's last 50 years, & did with an in-ring toughness like pig-iron, & a style of charisma more fluid than a bowl of jello.
He was my first favorite Old-School wrestler outside of Strangler Lewis & Lou Thesz when I was just 13 years old. I have spent my entire teenage through adult life loving The Hitmaker, The Record Breaker who made the most legendary backs & livers of the late 60s, the entire 70s & 80s, & early 90s crack & quivaa, if you will.
He helped define his era in the most magnificent sense of the word.
He stood toe to toe, brow to brow, elbow to elbow with the "Pow, pow, POW!...." with the greatest collection of World's champions in history in the likes of Race, The Funks, Briso, & Flair. He held the title the least, but made it mean the most.
Dusty's most famous tag-team title co-holder(across several territories) was Andre The Giant, but Dusty held his own in casting one Hell of shadow on the wrestlin' world with that 265lbs of sweet soul, & a heart strong enough to hold up the whole state of Texas by the pan handle & cook up a breakfast of scrambled noggins, knuckle samiches, & BOOGIE FEVAA for everybody who stands cross that ring from the man of the charismatic moment.
You didn't come to have a long time. You came for a good time, & you gave us one that will last for generations. I hope the wrestling world, to which you gave so much of yourself, will hold a moment of silence & put their towards Florida, & listen... for the faintest echo of those iconic elbows coming to the rescue of the grahams, that first... ever so magical time.
Arguably the most famous fan sign from a Madison Square Garden show in the 70s was inspired by the arrival of Dusty, when he challenged the at the time champion, Superstar Billy Graham, which read like this. "The dust will settle of the fallen star."
Well the Dust has finally settled as a fallen star.
Rest in Peace... to the human dream.
