LIVE from the American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida!
Fireworks. Pyro. Hooray!
Cameron Stone: Ladies & gentlemen welcome to Miami, Florida and of course welcome to New Dawn!
Alecia Matthews: What a show we have this evening folks. The second batch of Tag Team Quarter Finals dominate the landscape of the card but that's not to say we have nothing else on offer.
Cameron Stone: A number of greener guys are getting their shots in singles action against some of the top talents in the company.
Alecia Matthews: Jon Gotch takes on Samael Ahriman, Axel Thornstowe takes on Daniel Kirkbride and perhaps the most interesting of the bunch sees Lucas Crowe taking on the newly returned Velocity Grrrl Penny Shannon! It's a huge opportunity to get a footing for the newer guys. A win here tonight could sky rocket their career ahead of the rest of the pack.
Cameron Stone: You are absolutely right Alecia. And don't forget Mr Dean versus Joey Raid! Anytime you have the number one contender for the International Title in the opening contest, you know it's going to be a huge night!
Alecia Matthews: Joey Raid has his hands full in this his debut match for WFWF as he takes on a very motivated Josh Dean coming up here in a couple minutes.
Cameron Stone: After the week Josh Dean had last week, I feel sorry for Joey Raid. It's hard enough to win a match at this level of competition, let alone against arguably the hottest person on the roster at this moment not named Drakz.
Alecia Matthews: We'll see if Joey Raid can score a massive upset here in his debut or if he is essentially a lamb being led to slaughter. Let's send it up to Christa Adina to get us started!
"Always" by Saliva blares through the PA system and the crowd is starting to stir up as WFWF's newest talent, Joey Raid pushes through the entrance curtain. The crowd is not sure what to make of the fresh faced newcomer as he looks out towards them.
Christa Adina: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is your opening contest of the evening! Introducing first, from Seattle, Washington, weighing in at 225 pounds and making his WFWF debut. This is Joey Raid!
Joey raises his fists up into the air. As he walks down the ramp, he sees a fan's sign and rips it. This draws boos from the audience.
Alecia Matthews: That's one way to get a reaction.
Joey rolls into the ring and hangs over the ropes. He bounces back and yells "Game Over" into the air.
Cameron Stone: Let's see what the kid's got. At least he showed up.
The heavy guitar riffs scream through the speakers as red and gold spotlights alternate in the entranceway. The crowd rises to their feet knowing that he's coming. The drums kick in and Kevin Rudolf's "In The City" fills the arena.
Every day I'm a star in the city
Walk the streets like a wanted man
All the time got my shine looking pretty
Motherf*ckers all know who I am
Josh Dean's visage appears on the entranceway and the crowd noise amps up as he looks out among them. He begins to walk toward the ring.
Every day feel the heat in the city
Like the barrel of a smoking gun
Read the signs, see the lights - they're so pretty
You're the one now turn me on
He stops and smacks the steel ramp, shooting up gold and red pyros as he spreads his arms wide and continues his descent. The lights return to normal with the alternating strobes. Unlike at Ascension, there is very little pageantry from "The Architect" as his stone gaze, black hoodie and tobbogan is evident.
Christa Adina: And his opponent, representing the Saviors of Salvation, from Atlanta, Georgia, weighing it at 225 pounds. He is "The Franchise" Josh Dean!
Every day I'm alive in the city
She's a fire that lives by the sun
On the street looking fine, looking pretty
She sucks the heat off my - gun
By this point Josh has climbed the stairs and steps quickly into the ring. He walks over to the turnbuckle and makes a diamond shape with his hands, mouthing 'gun' along with the words as he forms a gun shape.
I will eat you alive in the city
While they pull up in fancy cars
Drinking wine, wasting time, you are pretty
Politicians, movie stars
He spreads his arms wide in his trademark pose as the crowd eats it up. Josh takes his toboggan and hoodie off, throwing it into the crowd as they erupt once again. Josh hops down and rolls his neck.
(Hey) give it all up for me
(Hey) give it all up for me
(Hey) give it all up for me
City boy life
The music fades down and Joey Raid steps forward and stares down Josh. Obviously not in the mood, Josh slaps the taste out of young Joey's mouth, knocking the rookie down to a knee.
Cameron Stone: We knew Josh would be in a bad mood after getting dropped after the match at Ascension, but I think Joey Raid is about to find out what the deep end of the pool looks like.
DING DING
Joey charges at Josh following the slap and Josh takes him over with a side headlock takedown, using his forearm to run across Joey's face. This aggravates the rookie, causing him to aggressively swing his legs up and try for a head scissors. Josh, the veteran, keeps his weight high on Joey's chest before moving to north south position. Sharp elbows land from top position to open Joey up as Josh fishes for a couple submissions, knowing that with his opponent's inexperience he has multiple options. Finally, he decides to lock up an inverted triangle choke, before switching off to side control. Joey looks to push him off, but instead finds himself trapped in a crucifix position. Big elbows raining down at a rapid rate to the unprotected head! Joey squirms his arms free and pushes off Josh's hips to get up.
Joey charges in back in to tie up with Josh, and this time Josh ducks under the tie up attempt and drives through with a monster double leg slam, landing in Joey's full guard! Posturing up, Josh lands some ground and pound shots to the body before knifing through his guard into full mount. Ground and Pound coming with bad intentions as Joey tries to cover and buck up, but Josh is on him like glue. Big hammerfist strikes bounce Joey's head off the mat and he turns to give his back. Up to his knees and Joey is trying not to get caught in a submission as Josh patiently hammers away with big elbows to the ear. Joey frees one of the hooks and pushes up to his feet, but Josh is right there with a knee to the body. Joey doubles over and Josh blasts him with a huge European Uppercut that floors the rookie! Josh with the cover,

Kickout by Joey!
Alecia Matthews: Joey Raid is struggling to find some space from this opening blitz!
Cameron Stone: Blitz is the perfect way to describe this. This kid is methodically getting lit up by Josh Dean.
Josh stalks Joey as he holds his jaw and pushes to his feet. Josh back to the attack with a stiff inside kick to the thigh, followed up by a snapmare/soccer kick combination. Joey tenses up from the kick to the spine, and it allows Josh time to hit the adjacent ropes and level him with a low angle Yakuza Kick to the side of the head. Where this would be followed by a jumping knee drop, instead Josh changes course by grabbing Joey's legs and spinning him into a standing surfboard. Joey is strung out by his arms, looking at his fate as Josh takes his foot and drives Joey's head into the mat, Curb Stomp style!
Alecia Matthews: Do you think this is anger from all the controversy surrounding Josh at the moment, Cam?
Cameron Stone: Josh is one of the most motivated individuals I know, and he doesn't need anger to fuel that. No, this is a statement to Bishop and Daniel Kirkbride that he can be as nasty in between those ropes as anyone.
Josh once again with the cover,

Kickout by Joey!
Alecia Matthews: Where do you think this need to make a statement is coming from?
Cameron Stone: Listen, Josh is a genuinely good guy, probably more than anyone in our locker room. But I think when Kirkbride laid him out after the match at Ascension, he realized that his guard was down with all of the controversy surrounding SOS.
Meanwhile in the ring Josh is in complete control as he fires a huge open handed chop to the chest of Joey. Joey holds his chest in pain as Josh whips him off the ropes. He looks for the standing dropkick, but Joey puts on the breaks. Josh flips and lands on his feet, but the rookie charges in and nails Josh with a big flying knee to the jaw! This isn't going to be a complete disection as far as Joey is concerned. Josh pulls himself up by the ropes and the rookie is right on him with heavy leather, big right hands ricochet off Josh's head and suddenly he covers up, looking to counter. Joey stays on him with forearm shivers to the temple. Joey whips Josh into the ropes and drops down for a back body drop. Josh lands on his feet and cracks Joey with an enziguri as he turns around. Joey spins around and goes chest first into the ropes. Josh lifts Joey for a high angle back suplex. Joey flips out the back and drills Josh with a big superkick! Josh hits the deck and Joey rushes over to the apron. Josh pushes up to a knee and Joey springboards to the top. FLYING CROSSBODY WITH A PINNING COMBINATION!
Alecia Matthews: He could have him! What an upset this would be!

KICKOUT BY JOSH!
Joey looks up at the ref and is shocked he didn't pull it off. Josh is stunned himself as he gets to his feet, giving Joey time to spring off the middle rope and land a flying back elbow! Josh pops back up and Joey snaps off a running hurricanrana! Josh is still shaky as Joey vaults to the top. Josh turns around and eats a mushroom stomp (Double Stomp)! Joey puts Josh's head between his legs, screaming "Game Over" as he prepares for his signature move. He takes too much time, which allows Josh to trip his legs up and catapult Joey into the turnbuckles. Joey stumbles out of the corner and Josh hits the adjacent ropes before MOWING JOEY DOWN WITH A SPEAR! HOLY SH*T HE BROKE HIM IN HALF!
Cameron Stone: And play time is over.
Damn right Cam, and that's what the look in Josh's eyes indicate. He picks Joey up, the rookie clutching his ribs and Josh goes to work on them with some big knees. He whips Joey into the ropes and scoops him up before driving him across the knee with a Tilt a Whirl Backbreaker! Joey is using one hand to clutch his back, but he's still holding the ribs with the other. Josh, looking to put a sequence together to finish the rookie off has himself coiled. Joey is labouring to his feet and Josh goes into a pivot. Discus lariat coming, but Joey ducks it and sneaks behind. Bridging German suplex!

NO! JOSH KICKS OUT!
Joey's holding his ribs, as they are still giving him fits. Josh pops up and catches Joey coming in, planting the rookie with big Rise Bomb (Sky High)! You can hear the audible gasp from the impact and Joey is still trying to recover from the beating he's taken.
Alecia Matthews: And that might be the beginning of the end for Joey Raid.
Cameron Stone: I think Josh is just about ready to put this one to bed.
Joey Raid is a mess of pain as Josh grits his teeth behind him. Joey pushes himself up to his feet, but there's a thought that he probably should've stayed down. Josh hooks him around the neck and drops him face first with a reverse STO and chains it into the B.S.E. (Yes Lock)! Joey is trying to hold on and not tap, but violent elbows are coming to the temple, rendering the rookie defenseless as his arm is trapped. Joey taps the mat and the ref signals for the bell as Josh releases the hold.
Christa Adina: Here is your winner by submission, "The Franchise" Josh Dean!
Josh is up to his feet. Joey is still on the mat, clutching his shoulder and seething in pain. Josh offers a hand and tanks the rookie up to his feet. Joey shrugs off the act of kindness. Even though there isn't a mic you can still hear Josh as he extends his hand.
Josh Dean: Be a man.
Joey thinks about it, and even though he's not happy about it, he shakes Josh's hand and Josh raises his hand before exiting the ring. He looks at the nearby cameraman.
Josh Dean: That was for you Joe Joe, I'm coming for ya.
Alecia Matthews: That was a classy display by Josh Dean. And a very clear message to International Champion Joe Bishop.
The cameras cut back to the backstage area where the aforementioned Joe Bishop is standing by a monitor, shaking his head. He adjusts the International Title on his shoulder.
Cameron Stone: I think the message was heard loud and clear.
We cut back to the ring, where Josh has retrieved a mic from ringside.
Josh Dean: Ok, I consider myself a straight to the point kind of guy, but I can't help but feel that we're currently having a failure to communicate.
The crowd is cheering, knowing that the Architect is look for some answers and possibly another fight.
Josh Dean: Now if I can backtrack for just a moment to Ascension, where I was coerced into relinquishing my Tag Team Title in favor of an International Title match. A trade, mind you, that I have absolutely no problem with because the International Title is one I hold near and dear. But it seems to me that someone has another idea for how the match in Japan should look. Roll the tape.

Josh plants Joe with the Nail in the Coffin (Falcon Arrow), then signals for the finish. A blind tag from Daniel as Josh hits the Chapter 11 (Royal Flush) scores the pin for his team. Admist a team celebration, Daniel lays out Josh with the New Covenant (Cutter). He holds the International Championship high above his head as the video feed ends. The crowd boos as Josh shakes his head.
Josh Dean: Listen guys, that was my own fault. I honestly should've expected someone to try and mess up what was turning out to be a good night. I could see that out of Ahriman, I could see that out of Bishop.
He looks at the cameraman in the rampside corner of the ring.
Josh Dean: I just never expected you, Daniel. And I hope the newfound "Kyzer Entitlement Complex" you've got going on was worth it, Daniel, because you and I didn't have a problem until Michael dropped you on your head. But now that we've crossed that bridge, I believe I deserve some answers. If for no other reason, I just want to see if your faculties are working so that when I kick your ass, I'll at least be justified. Because this sh*t you're pulling right now, isn't the kid I've come to respect.
The crowd cheers as Josh leans forward into the ropes.
Josh Dean: Any time you're ready Daniel, I'll be waiting.
The screen cuts in, static at first, making way to a grainy shot of Daniel Kirkbride, lazily strewn across a couch in an undisclosed location. His focus is off camera, as he seems to be speaking to an unseen entity just out of frame, rather than using the medium to address Josh Dean, now eagerly awaiting whatever it is Kirkbride has to say.
Daniel Kirkbride: No, no, I mean - I hear the words that are coming out of his mouth, but is he really saying anything?
Unknown, Offscreen: It's that take no prisoners bullsh*t tough guy act. Whatever they forgot to wipe up when the SOS dissolved. Pretty much his M.O.
Daniel Kirkbride: Oh, let's throw him a bone then, shall we?
He looks forward, the eyes of his oversized image now squarely locked on the arena at large, the ring, and the increasingly impatient Joshua Dean.
Daniel Kirkbride: Ease up, Joshua. Ease up. I hear you, for whatever statical nonsense it is that is spilling out of your mouth, I hear you. You want answers. You feel, for all your efforts, you deserve answers, and yet, there you are, smack dab in the middle of that ring, crying and stomping your feet like a petulant child because like everybody else here, you are either unwilling, or all the more likely, unable to go out and find or take what you feel it is you deserve.
Dean chuckles at the remark, never breaking his calm lean upon the ropes, except to raise one hand, gesturing toward the screen for Kirkbride to come out and say these things to his face.
Daniel Kirkbride: Nevertheless, even a man like me who spends a great deal of his time upon his knees, laying out devotion to a higher power hates to see a grown man grovel, and so I'm here to aid your quest, Joshua. The irony, really, is that if you'd just stop for two seconds and try and portray the man that you claim to be, you'd realize that in your demand for an answer, you yourself already stated it in the question. You see, Joshua, I've undertaken something of a journey. Some might call it spiritual, or a pilgrimage. What separates me from the pack of the scourges that walk up and down that ramp each week is the fact that I'm not too fussed over the menial details. All that matters is the end game, and right now, the only thing standing between myself and a title worthy of my efforts is you.
To this, Josh raises his eyes, a look of humor on his face that tells of a detection of absurdity in Kirkbride's statement.
Daniel Kirkbride: Joshua, I did what I did because you are not fit to strip Joe Bishop of his International Title. One could go on and on for days listing reason after reason but the simple truth is one you stated yourself - you never expected this of me. You are not capable of anticipating the unknown, you are unable to accept change as it happens on the fly, evidenced by your insipid drawling over the vacation of your tag team championship because you lacked the foresight to align yourself with a man who could bear that burden. Make no mistake, Mr. Dean - change is at the forefront of the horizon. It would betray all logic to say that it is coming because it is here, and if you take it upon yourself to try and be a beacon that will stand in the way of the tides of change, then know that God, whether through divine intervention or through his chosen right hand, will most certainly cut you down.
At this, Daniel Kirkbride grins a malicious smile as static consumes the feed before cutting out entirely as we fade to ads.
