I remember the first LIVE wrestling PPV I ever watched was Summerslam 1989 so we had it then! I was 4 years old and it changed my life

When did they start showing WWE RAW live at 1am? I remember having to wait until Thursday/Friday night for it & Saturday for Smackdown. I think it was the first Raw of 2005. Raw on a Friday night and SmackDown on a Saturday morning, ah those were the days as a kid. It sucked when they moved Raw to Thursdays in September 2004.

I remember being so excited to finally see Raw live. Didn't they show the odd Raw live towards the end of 2004? May have been the Raw before Taboo Tuesday.

May have been the Raw before Taboo Tuesday. It's possible. Showing the Raw before Taboo Tuesday live makes sense, as showing it after would have been pointless.

I guess you're right but I preferred Fridays because I didn't need to go to bed early for school the next day, I could stay up as late as I wanted.

Yeah I see what you mean but I always stayed up for wrestling anyway whether I had school the next day or not. Needless to say, I missed a lot of school days.

I remember missing school for Armageddon 2000 Everyone was always in the next day at my school, my class must've been filled with a bunch goody two shoes'. I'd either usually sneak up during the night to watch the Channel 4 PPVs live or get up at like 6 or 7am so I could watch as much of it as possible before school. Backlash 2000 was during a holiday so I didn't need to worry about school for that one. I remember forgetting to record Backlash 2001 and being absolutely devastated the next morning.

My favourite memory growing up but giving my friend (who had Sky) a VHS over the weekend. He would record Raw and SD for me and give it to me on the Monday. Great times. Raw and SD was essential viewing from 98 - 2001. That poor old video casette did its job well.

I loved it when Channel 4 moved Heat to 4pm on a sunday afternoon! it seems WWE did not though, 4 million viewers a week and they pulled it and put it back on Sky instead where it lost 3 million viewers. It was good while it lasted.

Given how Channel 4 are quite an edgy channel I'm sure I read they didn't renew the contract with WWF because of nudity.

I remember missing school for Armageddon 2000 I'd either tape them and get up at 6am or brave school very tired. I was talk of the school because I was the only one who knew the Royal Rumble 2001 results lol.

I stayed up till 2am so I could record Invasion. The good old days.

I recorded every Channel 4 PPV with the exception of Backlash 2001 which I forgot to set the timer for. Was ing gutted, had to wait for the DVD to come out because none of my friends had recorded it.

Exactly my point but Eurotrash was on every week back then and crap like embarrassing bodies where penises and breasts are frequently on view are on nowadays.

They didn't like what mae young did at Royal Rumble 2000. Yeah, that and the violent street fight soured the relationship right off the bat. After that they showed the PPVs on a 50 minute delay and tried to edit any violence. I remember watching Backlash 2000 and they pixelated X-Pac's face after the match because he was bleeding. There was a lot of Backlash(no pun intended) about the manner that the PPV was presented and they showed the rest of the PPVs unedited after that for the most part, but by that point the fate of the WWF/Channel 4 relationship had already been sealed.
