Also, if you truly believe Kevin Sullivan did it, you are, quite simply, stupid. Kevin Sullivan didn't do it. The Dungeon Of Doom did #MengShotFirst

Never should've happened. Pretty much this. If people are unhappy in a marriage they should get a divorce not murder their significant other and or murder their own kid... It is just sad he had to snap on his family.

I guess the one posiitive thing that came from this mess was the wellness policy.

Wow yeah I was looking back at the 2007 Chris Benoit thread a few days ago actually. Here's the link below if anyone wants to take a stroll and observe the initial reactions from different users. And I'm pretty certain there was like another 90pg thread covering it before the one in the link below. But I/we remember hoping it was just some sick storyline that Vince probably had something to do with. Chris Benoit Passes AwayIt's crazy that after WWE posted the story of his death, people seriously thought it was a work

Still so surreal looking back on the events of that weekend. Especially knowing the likelihood of it happening could have been lessened or prevented if WWE implemented drug policy, concussion policy, etc. sooner

It was such an unfortunate tragedy. Benoit along with the Radicalz were my favorites when they debuted in WWE and Benoit became one of my all time favorites with Eddie, Wrestlemania 20 was a very special moment for me as a fan. I wish this whole thing never would've happened.

I guess the one posiitive thing that came from this mess was the wellness policy. You're wrong. The WWE's Wellness Policy was created in February 2006. After the Chris Benoit tragedy happened, the WWE made some amendments and strengthened said policy. As a result of this tragedy, Sports Illustrated did their own research and revealed performers that were getting drugs from Signature Pharmacy. Here is a list of guys: Source: www.wrestlezone.com/news/216599-full-list-of-wwe-superstars-involved-in-pharmacy-probe (August 31st, 2007) Once this list came out, the WWE further made changes to make their Wellness Policy stronger. There were severe ramifications of the fallout of the Chris Benoit tragedy. From what I've gathered from various sources, Chris Benoit's personal life was in shambles after the death of Eddie Guerrero. When Vickie Guerrero was on Talk Is Jericho a couple of months back, Vickie noted that Nancy and Chris Benoit's marriage was in turmoil. With Eddie gone, Chris lost part of his mind and soul. This can partially explain why Chris Benoit took time off in 2006. Given how Chris Benoit's brain was in such a state of damage, it is a wonder why he didn't think before he committed the acts he did. After taking a psychology course in college and doing research on the human brain, the human brain is more delicate that anybody can imagine. Case in point, look at the concussion lawsuits the NFL has been receiving over the last several years.

Does anyone know why he did it. Years of steroid abuse and blows the head. At the time I thought he did it because he was stuck on ecw.

The fact that I wasn't that affected by the whole event makes me feel like a bad person. I was only 12 years old at the time, but understood what had happened. Still, my frame of mind then is the same now. I can still watch Chris Benoit matches just fine without thinking "murderer," but I'm not one of those who tries to separate the human being from the professional wrestler. The person that we watched then, and sometimes still do, is the same person who threw away every single bit of worth that he had in his final days. I'm in a similar boat. Despite being 17 at the time, I feel weird that it didn't impact me in the way it did some others. I can still watch and enjoy Chris Benoit matches with no problems.

Broke my heart that day. As a fan, a husband, and as a father.
I was a HUGE Benoit fan since his first run in wCw. I lost my voice cheering for him during a WWE dark match against Owen Hart. Was a huge fan when he returned to wCw. I was ecstatic the day he joined WWE. I marked like never before when he defeat Triple H & HBK at WMXX.
Haven't watched a match since. Don't need to.

It still feels like it was yesterday when it happend.I remember buying his tshirt and figure the day before he did it.

Does everyone still have his t-shirts, figures and dvd.
I still have his figure on my shelf, but I put paper around his head so he can't see anyone. I never watched his dvd again, it just sits on my shelf.
