I definitely remember watching this at a friends house. One of my friends missed the table spot because he went to answer the door for the pizza delivery guy. Worst timing ever lol

The Undertaker vs. Mankind at the 1998 King of the Ring is one of those matches you had to witness it live to fully appreciate it. This match was just too ****ing much and hard to watch. The spots in the match was cringeworthy, Mick Foley's body was never the same, and The Undertaker worked hurt for months following this event. Looking back, their Hell In A Cell match hasn't aged all too well as was the rest of this PPV. Keep in mind, I loved 1998 so much as it was happening but now, I don't look at it too fondly. Two things that came out of this match was Jim Ross' commentary and Terry Funk literally being knocked out of sneakers. I think it could be a defining moment for both guys Undertaker as ruthless Foley as toughest wrestler ever yes to both! - they played up the Undertaker as being sadistic during thsi match, first for throwing Foley off, second for climbing in the cage after the chokeslam, and thirdly for taking out Terry Funk, who was trying to protect Foley. a very subtle beginning on his road to heeldom in the fall. - Foley's legacy and legend was forever cemented.

This was the start of Takers slow burn heel turn.......one that would be totally realised in September.

Just finished watching this, funny hearing someone in the crowd or something say "you've got your ratings now Vince" as they put Mankind on the stretcher. Knowing Mick is okay and you know, not dead I enjoyed it. Mick is tough as nails
