Look, brother, I love the Pro Wrestling. I LOVE it... and the Attitude Era is not the ONLY Era I love. It's just the funnest time period of Pro Wrestling History. For the record though, I love me some New Generation AND I loves me some Golden Era too, where both time periods were Bret's old stompping grounds! Actually now that I think about it, my favorite time period MIGHT even be The New Generation Era due to the nostalgia of my boy Hitman being the Top Dawg! But yeah back on topic, The Attitude Era kicks balls! New Gen is my favorite era too. So many amazing matches. New Gen gets a lot of heat but honestly I'll take a 1993 raw over a 1999 raw (exceptions apply)

I loved the AE Austin/Rock/Taker/Foley more than made up for the dumb sh** that was going on.

A lot of us were kids during that time so nothing will ever match that magic for us. The same thing will happen when the Cena era kids grow up and look back on it just as fondly. I'll never get sick of it because it made me love wrestling.

It's hard to explain to anybody who didn't live through that time. Watching YouTube clips or the stuff on the network just can't do it justice. WWE, WCW and ECW all going strong at the same time and really not knowing what would happen week to week was must see. I'd love to "move on", and a lot of us are wishing to be that excited about wrestling again. The stuff that's happening lately with ROH, NJPW, and nXt has been incredible. But Monday Night Raw has not had that buzz in a long time. It's been pretty stagnant for close to a decade now, I'm hoping that turns around.

A few years from now the next generation of WFigs members will be starting threads telling these damn old guys to get over the John Cena era and NXT. lol.

It's because wrestling was on fire at those times. People are bound to mention it. I really wish people would talk about the Ruthless Aggression Era more though. It's on par with the AE to me. I do agree with this. If people are going to be nostalgic, at least mention RA. I like that era a lot, mainly because it hasn't been run into the ground. Give it another 10 years and that will be the case. Main reason the RA doesn't get mentioned a lot is because of some Canadian who did something back in 07.

With a main event scene of stone cold, rock, HHH, taker, masked Kane, and mock foley I never get sick of that part of the era. Sure the matches weren't as great, there was probably to many factions, and some storyline a were over the top but at least they thought outside the box and weren't just cookie cutter about it. The writing and creeative can only hurt and help so much but at some point the wrestlers have to take over and in the AE they took the ball and wouldn't stop running. With all the young talent WWE has now wouldn't be surprised to see a new boom in 3-5 years, the Indy era or so,etching like that.
Also ECW was and is still such a unique change of pace that's never bad to go back to. This era was so great just for the great options you had. Now WWE is an unstoppable force, TNA has fallen off a cliff, and roh and those other promotions have a tough time getting more coverage. WWEs biggest COMPITITION is itself at this point with NXT.

I went back and watched some old Raw episodes during the Attitude Era and was pretty disappointed. Just like today, most of it is forgettable filler.

I became a regular WWF viewer in late 88 when it became available to watch in Ireland(I was 8) and man I was hooked instantly.....I watched all the way through up to late 93 when I became a lapsed viewer. I would watch now & again but it wouldn't hold my full concentration and I rarely watched at all in 1995. But then in 96 I started to watch again sporadically because I enjoyed the IYH: Seasons Beatings with Bret vs Bulldog so much.......and then one of my friends told me about Nitro.....so I switched over there to see all the old WWF guys.....and yeah I was lucky enough to catch Halls debut and get caught up all over again......I wouldn't begin to regularly watch WWF again until fall of 96 when my friend James told me about Austin and his antics from then on in until 2008 or so I was back watching weekly. Every Monday offered up the chance of somebody jumping ship etc it was "cant miss" TV. I taped both Raw & Nitro and would watch them back to back every Saturday before I went out that night.....usually one of the topics when we were all out on the beer was Austin or Rocks latest antics. Great times that I will ALWAYS look back fondly on.
