He's not in the main title picture and his feud with Sheamus seems like filler until they are ready to bring Sheamus into the main storyline. To me, there is no doubt that someone with his prestige, talent, and stature is the best candidate to bring the IC title back from the dead. It would no doubt be a tough job seeing as creative always books the IC title as total crap but I would give Orton a shot at it. I would get him into a feud with Ryback(Or whoever the IC champion is when he's done with Sheamus) and have him take the belt. No offense to Ryback, I like him, but I just don't see him doing much for the championship at this point in time. I think he'd be better after someone like Orton already built it up.

I agree that a good run from him could do wonders for the IC championship. However, I'd prefer to see Orton float around and have some fresh, interesting matches with guys like Owens, Rusev, Wyatt, other NXT call ups and even Lesnar.

If Bryan wasn't injured I'm sure he'd be having great matches over the IC Title with guys like Barrett, Sheamus, Ziggler, Cesaro, Rusev, Ambrose etc.

I just want the IC Title to be treated as great as the US Title has been treated and I want it to get de-cursed because atm it is not something people should want.. -_- |

Despite him being one of my favourites Intercontinental champions of all time and THE guy I associate with the old design... Nah. I've been enjoying Cena's title defences, but his title run, not so much. Would be a bit daft having your 2 biggest home grown talents of the last decade hold your 2 mid card titles anyway.
I miss when the Intercontinental title was a stepping stone. They have a great roster and are wasting it on Big Show, Ryback and Miz?!

I'd rather see him in the World Heavywight title picture. Whether he is champion or challenging for it. Matches with Seth and Brock would be fantastic.
Personally I still think the WWE should have Sandow take out the bathrobe again as our intellectual saviour and be the Intercontinental champion. I think he would be perfect as the Intercontinental champion.

Be fine with me. He's a considerably better option than any of Big Show, Ryback or Miz to have it right now, and he seems to be having a ton of fun out there in his matches. The main event finish last night was hilarious.
That being said, I don't think you do it at the same time Cena has the US Title. Had Owens won the US Title then it's definitely something I have no issue with but Cena and Orton tying up the midcard titles at the same time isn't good for the younger guys or the guys actually in the midcard who need those titles. So it's a double edge sword between making the belt prestigous and taking the opportunity away from someone who could use it more.

WWE needs to make new stars instead of constantly relying on old ones.
Ryback isn't my #1 choice to be IC champion at all but at least it's someone different.
I can't comprehend why anybody would want Cena and/or Orton back in the world title picture when we've seen that for over a decade.
Cena being US champion is a rare occurrence where I actually support relying on an old star because it's working and also keeping him out of the world title picture. Cena should've lost the title to Owens last night, however.
If you do the exact same thing with Orton and the IC title then it'll completely water down what they're doing with the U.S. title.

Orton would be good as IC Champ, just as long as he doesn't feud with losers. Ryback is ok as IC Champ too, but having him face Miz and Big Show ruins his credibility as the champ. They should have continued to Ryback/Wyat feud for the IC Title. That would have been important.

No thanks. We don't need two upper main event levels superstars taking the two mid card titles, that would be overkill. Right idea though, what he should do is form a tag team with someone and help add to the tag division. Runs like that have shown that they can be pretty interesting whilst boosting the division and help 'spread the talent'.

Why not?
People always complain that guys like Orton are stale, which can be true, so why not do something different with him. He doesn't have to do "open challenges" like Cena, but if Orton was IC Champion, I'm pretty sure that means the IC Champion would be booked well. Like the Cena US Title run though, it should be used to A) build up credibility and B) in the end, put over a new star (like Cena should have done with Owens).

This, and then they can team up, take the WWE Tag Team Championship Titles, become managed by Triple H, and be called the new Two-Man Power Trip!! I’d love to see them face the Meta Powers, and maybe drop the Tag Straps to them or drop the mid-card Titles to them individually, with Axel winning the US from Orton and Sandow winning the IC from Cena. |

Orton has been stale for years now he needs a new look or a new gimmick before getting another title run.He's just there to be there he could get released tomorrow and I wouldn't even notice he was gone.

WWE needs to make new stars instead of constantly relying on old ones. Exactly! It needs to be freshened up not recycled with old names. Cena is doing a good job with the US title but the IC needs a new dynamic star to bring it back to prominence. An Owens or Balor if given a proper chance could be good. At the end of the day just putting the belt on Orton may help now but in the long run it needs good consistent booking to get back it glory. |

Yeah , he was the last great ic champ , I'm sure wwe creative would have him in the Cena role with the ic title instead which isn't a bad thing , let him fued with a NXT star once they come up
