Was the voting during these ppvs legit or were they rigged?

Jericho said in his book that they were legit. That one where he defended the IC title against Shelton, he said that they didn't know who would win the vote, and that the match they had ended up being ok.

HBK states the same thing. They're legit.
But do we REALLY know?

Yeah, I've heard HBK call them legit as well. As far as the wrestlers know, they could be perceived as real even if they weren't though. One of the writers, Court Bauer or Lagana, also said they were legit.
I genuinely don't believe people voted for Roman Reigns as Superstar of the Year last year. If you think about how Vince controls every facet of the product, I find it hard to believe he'd give fans any kind of control over what they have planned. That's why we've seen them control parameters in the more recent years, likely to avoid any kind of surprises.

I always doubted that they were just because it's asking for trouble. I enjoyed the concept though.

I'm sure they were legit. Most of the time it was more obvious than not who was gonna win anyway so they had time to prepare if needed.

I will never believe that these were legit. It wouldn't matter who says they are.

With some of the options that were offered even Jim Crockett Promotions could have guessed what the voting would end up as. Some of the selections seemed to not matter to the outcome.
Most votes today are totally faked. I have seen a few houseshow text the wrestlers for the match polls that stay split until the last second and it ends as the card was originally set. The Slammy awards are another fan vote segment that has to be faked.

I think they were legit to a point. Meaning that I do think the fans actually did vote for what they wanted to see haha but it didn't matter because Vince already knew what was gonna happen at the show.
But if it was real, they could have worked the fans into voting who was gonna get the matches anyhow by hinting to them to vote for a said guy. For example, HBK, Benoit and Edge. The winner faces Triple H for the Title. The WWE knew Edge was not gonna win. And even if he did, they wouldn't allow it because they need him to be upset over not getting the World Title match. But the Raw the night before they were kind of pushing HBK to face Triple H, and somehow he gets the votes to do so! Even with a bad wheel.
That set up for Benoit and Edge to win the tag belts and lose them 2 weeks later and feud. I am sure that if Benoit won to face Triple H, the HBK vs. Edge feud would have happened and they would have won the tag belts, because I remember not long after the Benoit/Edge feud, Edge took up feuding with HBK.
So I really think that it was some what real, but fixed at the same time.

Guess we'll never know for sure but realistically the plan they had for the match can be carried out with who ever was "voted" the winner and if not the preferred option could have done a run at the end so it didn't deviate from the script and furthered a storyline.
Anyway it just a shame fans couldn't vote on the winner of the King of the ring 1995 - the fans couldn't have done a worse job than picking king Mabel (probably the last person anyone would have chosen in the tournament!) lol

I've heard HBK, Jericho & Kelly Kelly say there legit.
In Kelly's she said the night she won the divas title the producers said to her Eve and Beth whoever wins the vote wins the belt. So it probably goes like that.

So I really think that it was some what real, but fixed at the same time. Fixed or legit, it worked out well for the WWE. It really helped Triple H's cause of being this heel champion who people wanted to see get dethroned. This played into how well received the Triple H/Batista feud panned out. It hlped Batista transition to being a babyface champion who dethroned the guy who the fans wanted to see be eliminated from the equation. For Edge, it helped him finally complete the heel turn and run he had. By this point, Edge was stale as **** and needed to turn heel. This was the perfect time for him to make that transition. When Edge became the Rated R Superstar, it cemented his legacy as a top heel in the WWE.

I want all the 2003-2004 PPV's back! Even though most were generic but they had the best themes and looks instead of Elimination Chamber... Have New Years Revolution and Money in the Bank... Have the matches at Wrestlemania.

Taboo Tuesday was an interesting concept and I'd expect it in this day and age, but the shows mostly didn't deliver. That's part of why I think the voting was legit. A lot of the time, you might end up facing someone that the fans voted and you may not have worked out a full math with or something.
Also, while I like certain names over other ones, the name of a show itself is pretty irrelevant.

One thing I loved about PPVs back in 03-04 was the unique looks.I remember watching Heat before the PPVs just to see what the ppv looked like nowadays it's just the same generic look for almost every ppv.I know they did it for budget cuts and stuff but you just don't see stuff like that anymore.
