Busy week for Marvel trailers I get that it's early and just a teaser, but that felt like a promo for a Netflix series to me.

Well...I have a feeling the Venom movie will be as crappy as that trailer.

Jesus Christ!!!! I have tried and I have tried, but I fail to see any positives in this Venom movie at all, Venom is my guy and has been for over 20 years! Make a movie where Spidey gets the black suit, Venom is born, introduce Carnage, other symbiotes and boom you have at least a couple of awesome movies. I just do not get what they are doing here at all.
I like Tom Hardy, but he is a horrible choice to play Eddie Brock, if this is the same universe as Tom Holland's Spider-Man he is far too old.
Who is the villain in this? I read a while back it was Carnage, but I have not found any info on an actor who has been hired to play Cletus Kassidy. If they wanted to do a stand alone Venom movie why not just do the whole Agent Venom thing..... oh yeah, because in this universe Flash Thompson is a podgy Indian kid.... ugh. Sorry for being so negative, but I fail to see anything good here at all.

Been against the Venom movie since Sony announced it. Seeing the trailer today has changed ziltch. Not impressed. Hopefully Disney gets the rights back after this. Knowing the general public though they'll eat this shyt up and we'll get 5 sequels and Sony'll live to screw up MCU's fluidity for another 5 years.

I fear that if this Venom movie tanks, it may scare Marvel away from ever using the symbiote again.
And the thing that really pisses me off at Sony... You had to have the MCU fix Spider Man because you constantly were tripping over your own feet. Marvel revamps the character and it brings in great money. Critics loved it. So what does Sony do next? They try to go back out on their own just to make a quick buck.
Common sense would tell you to save Venom for a Spider Man sequel. Let them lay the ground work. And THEN branch the character out into his own film. But oh no, ****that, let's just jump into the deep end with both feet. Idiots.

I don’t see any positives of having a separate Spider-verse. All it does is jumble stories around and confuses the audience. You can’t have Spider-Man characters existing without Spider-Man. Sony is looking at it as a way to make money but what they’re doing is soiling the groundwork that the MCU is laying. I really hope Venom tanks so Sony just gives Marvel the keys because this ain’t gonna work.

Regardless, I actually think Sony is going to make this work.

Wow, what a horrible teaser. I understand why they didn't want to show us Venom yet, but that would have been a bad teaser for a generic action flick, which is ironic, because that's what this looks like.

At least show the black symbiote crawling up his arm. Then it'd be a teaser worth a damn.

That trailer totally looks fan-made. It’s so generic and if they didn’t add the Marvel intro at the beginning I’d have no clue it was a Marvel movie.

Yeah I guess you sorta can. But barely. I was hoping it'd slap up his arm like black sticky tar. Maybe once they get further along into the special effect it will look better?

Well that Venom trailer blew all boys. Hands down utter rubbish. Of ALL the characters that shouldn't be introduced on their own first? I feel Venom may be 1#. Just cant understand how this will work....Holland has just started as Spidey so clearly he will have had no previous involvement with the symbiote.
So straight away you are robbing the characters of one of their GREATEST dynamics.
On the plus side? I caught Black Panther last night......its is a triumph on every conceivable level. Chock full of amazing performances.....and I love how we get the backstory on Wakanda. Going again with my Godson Thursday night. Cant wait. Well done Coogler & cast....well effin done.

Went with the wife to see Black Panther last night (you do not get much more romantic on Valentines Day than a trip to the movies and then Pizza Hut after!) it was fantastic. A really, really good and fun movie. The cast was great, the way they did Wakanda was awesome and in general, it was just a really good time. I love how all the MCU movies are connected, but this one felt like it stood on its own more than most of the others.
I cannot recommend going to see this movie highly enough! I just hate all the political BS that surrounds it. Black Panther is not great because it is a predominantly black cast. It is great because it is a damn good movie and to say otherwise is doing those actors a huge disservice. A great start for 2018 superhero movies indeed.

Doing a Venom movie without Spider Man is like doing a Catwoman movie without Batman. And who would be stupid enough to think that'd work?
